Scratch Mirror Myers with Map Change

I took a break from DBD for a little while, but returned to the game and I'm really struggling with the map offering change. I play Scratch Mirror Myers 99.9% of the time, and need indoor maps. Most of the time I'm getting outdoor maps, and no places to really hide and walls to hug to stalk and jumpscare survivors. I would always mainly use Midwich or Lery's, and the Game and Hawkins for something different. I know Midwich like the back of my hand and would be in the perfect spots to jumpscare survivors. Now it's stopped.

The games have been incredibly disappointing. Now I'm going to Ormond, Swamp, Toba Landing, and other outdoor maps the majority of time - and it's frustrating. I had roughly 30 (?) Lery's and got it around 2 times, using them all up being sent outdoors. I rarely get Midwich, and used 2, and didn't get it either time. This is not helpful for a Scratched Mirror main.

So, survivors see me long before I arrive at the gen or where they are, even when I'm trying to hide as I walk, and for some reason being in an open map they troll a bit harder than if I were stalking close indoors. A game tonight I just went and stood in a corner because I had 3 rough games already, unable to use him to my advantage. Normally I spook the hell out of them, and I know how to work this build 100% on indoor maps.

I'm really considering uninstalling. My main guy is so disappointing to play, that I just don't wanna play anymore.

An easy solution for scratched mirror is to make it so it guarantees an indoor map if he equips it.

Completely disagree, like I said prior - they should have made the map offerings map bans.

Making each map 20% is an inconsistent change. Either retire them completely or make them map bans - neither side should have any decision to bring each other to a specific map. You have one side complaining about Garden of Joy, Badham, and Eyrie of Crows.

Then you have the other side complaining about Midwich, Fallen Refuge (I particularly despise this map), and Hawkins (whatever maps you can think of here.)

Just because you are deciding to play Scratch Mirror Myers does not mean that you should be hand delivered an indoor map. You can talk about specific changes you would want to compensate for indoor maps being less selective, but I am glad that map offerings are now gone to prevent a killer bringing me to a specific map - similar, to a killer feeling the same when survivors would bring them to Garden of Joy or Badham.

Im sure the people who don't find Scratch Mirror Myers on an indoor map very fun are breathing a sigh of relief tho.

The games are for everyone, not just that one strategy you really like.

Totally agree with you! Most killers can do fairly well on any map. I'm not there for the 4ks, don't care about it, I just like to spook. Now on open maps I'm doing the 4k grind because there's nothing else to do, the survivors see me coming a mile off even if I'm hugging trees/walls/god knows what else. Scratchy Myers does best on indoor maps, not just any map.

Scratched mirror is a meme build played for jump scares. It's not in the same category as survivors burning maps like Badham and Eyrie. When survivors or players in general burn maps like that they are playing for maximum advantage to win.

The scratched mirror add on doesn't work without an indoor map. So to compare it to map offerings in general is silly because generally map offerings are used to get extra advantage. If Myers players want to win they're not going to be turning to scratched mirror. You play that for the memes and fun of jump scares.

YouTube is loaded with videos of players' reactions to getting jump scared by scratched mirror Mikeys because that's why people play it. For the laughs. Something that's rare to see in this game any more sadly.

if I had a favorite build or character but other players would rather not play against it idd want BHVR to make it more fair.

From my POV for example it was just boring hit and run playstyle with wallhacks. Not strong against smart survivors and not meme.

That's fine. But whether you find it boring or not is beside the point. If they started neutering everything that some people find boring then most of the killers and the meta would be unusable. The add on is only viable on an indoor map. Otherwise it's an iri add on that's worthless.

So it's not unreasonable to grant it guaranteed indoor map if you use it.

Map offerings are trash. 20% is a joke.

Sure, some people on YouTube would do jump scare compilations.

However, when I played against that specific build it usually was Myers proxy camping from a distance and doing hit and run and downing survivors without any comms.

By all means, if you believe that, that specific build is a meme build - which I did not experience then whatever. Judging from the downvotes, I do not have much to say further than my original point - neither side, regardless of what killer you bring should have any say in what map is brought.

    We can agree to disagree.

We all knew Scratch Mirror Myers would take the biggest hit among map-dependant builds. Imo it was worth it to kill off the "you're going to my map because..." stuff though.

I would rather that step wasn't necessary, that choice of map was purely preference and not to convey any advantages to either role. Overall this was a needed change, worth it in the long run. A casualty of that is one build and an add-on by a particular killer for sure.
