Can the animation team revert/polish Billys chainsaw animations?
This is a lengthy post.
Hello since patch 3.7.0 the Hillbilly and some other characters received some animation changes, but the Hillbilly unfortunately had some issues with his chainsaw animations which does not have the same feeling as before.
Weapon location from first person. (Not sure if its intended or not. One dev says its not and one is saying its a design choice).
Before patch 3.7.0 this is where The Hillbillys weapon used to be when you are not moving (87 FOV).

3.7.0 - Live Version - This is where The Hillbillys weapon currently is when you are not moving (87 FOV).

Just barely on the screen. (Would be better if seen in game).

Although weapons shouldn't cover part of the killers view, The Hillbilly's was in a great spot before patch 3.7.0.
Next, Chainsaw Hit Animation.
Before patch 3.7.0, The Hillbillys chainsaw hit animation was probably the best in terms of snappiness and fluidity in the game. Currently, The Hillbilly has some issues with his chainsaw animations.
The chainsaw issues are:
- Missing animation frames
- Chainsaw clips through the camera at times
- Chainsaw Hit animation isn't consistent from third person.
Before patch 3.7.0 this is what his chainsaw HIT animation looked like before. Chainsaw hit started further away from the camera. (87 FOV).
This is how it looked on 103 FOV.
Live Version - This is how it currently looks.
Although they both look quite the same, The live version starts the animation from the shoulder which at times clips the camera due to the chainsaw being very close. (See pictures below).
(For some reason these 2 swamp pictures it happened during the Miss animation (not 100% of the time).

Starting Chainsaw Rev animation-
Before patch 3.7.0 - When starting the chainsaw Rev animation The Hillbilys weapon slowly goes down from the camera, Where as of Live Version the weapon instantly goes away from the screen.

Third person chainsaw revving animation -
Before Patch 3.7.0 - While revving the chainsaw, The Hillbilly's upper body used to lean which make him straighten the chainsaw.

Dev quote 2: "Are you talking about how he looks like revving his chainsaw from third person?, i dont think there was any intentional change to that, that got messed up during the animation overhaul".

Billy doesn't limp during his mori but i think thats due to him sharing the same skeleton as trapper and wraiths.
Before raising the chainsaw his weapon clips through the chainsaw.

Hopefully a dev reads this because this is what billy needs now. Itd make his qol so much better and I miss old billy for the animations.

looks like a lot of effort went into this so I'll comment in the hopes it keeps the thread alive for somebody to notice.

I cant show gifs right now since Im at work, but some other animation and sound changes I can think of that seemingly changed all of a sudden:
-Trappers walking animation was changed (undocumented), also has been missing his bear trap in the lobby for years now
-The Wraiths arms bend unnaturally when stunned
-Hillbilly rev animation is bugged and seemingly plays in slow motion (pay attention to the head)
-Nurse camera flicks upwards when recovering from fatigue
-(this one is more a request) When using Fragrant Tuft of Hair, Myers should use his reverse grip like he used to in tier 3. (Also missing unique POV chase music)
-Doctor is missing his unique POV chase theme
-Huntress' wrist bends unnaturally when charging a hatchet. She used to also stop humming when in chase with someone.
-Bubba's tantrum animation was changed to be a lot more stiff. His chainsaw also sounds much more choppy instead of the constant aggressive revving like before
-Pigs arm bends unnaturally when turning, missing RBT in lobby
-The Clown doesnt have any upper movement when charging a bottle from a survivors POV
-Cancelling Demo's shred looks snappy and unnatural (also missing unique POV chase theme)
-Oni is missing his unique POV chase theme
-Slinger sometimes doesnt have an ADS animation from a survivors POV. Spear is also misaligned on all skins except for the default (check it yourself in game, select slingers default weapon, and then any other skin. Youll see the spear is slightly higher and doesnt match where it should be inside the barrel)
-Pyramid Head's arms bend unnaturally when turning
-Blight's camera sometimes flicks downwards after recovering from fatigue
-The Twins lol
-The Tricksters arms can sometimes "skip" when repeatedly throwing knives. Knives are missing a "voom" sound effect from a Survivor POV. In the lobby he sometimes has the heart animation which is supposed to be unique to the "God of Desire" outfit. During a high combo, he no longer "breathes" heavily when repeatedly throwing knives. (and finally bring back the ptb theme pls, its literally in vol 3 of the official soundtrack :( )
-When tiering up the Nemesis will play the animation of the tier he just entered rather than the one he just upgraded from, making it so his tentacle phases through his arm
-In the lobby, Vecnas book sometimes snaps unnaturally back into his chest
-In the lobby, when selecting Springtrap the camera pans out (meant for larger killers like Nemesis and Dredge) when its not supposed to, making it so whenever he does the select animation of peeking from the side of the screen, his hand is not gripping onto anything
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head, def more

my theory is the devs who originally designed these animations no longer work there so majority of the animation issues are probably not going to be fixed for a while at least. but who knows. If you want to see the gifs in higher quality i can send you a zip folder of them.
