Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Anti-Tunnel feature suggestion

If a survivor gets hooked for the 3rd time and other survivors haven't been hooked yet, instead of getting sacrificed they go through additional hook stage and will only be sacrificed on the next one or if timer runs out.

As an example of balancing, maybe that hook stage only happens if there are 0-2 gens done (so after 2 gens survivor is sacrificed normally). The stage itself can also take longer than normal stages, but this is questionable.

This might discourage killers to tunnel early on and give a survivor more time to play the match, instead of dying early.

    My solution was easier:

No survivor can be sacrificed before 4th hook, if survivor is hooked 3 times in a row his 3rd stage will be ignored.

So you're giving it to everyone? That seems slightly overpowered, but it's arguable. I think you don't need this much base kit anti-tunelling after 1st sacrifice.

The purpose of anti-tunneling is to give survivor enough time in the trial, right? I think after 1st sacrifice you already have enough time (with this feature).
It can also create artificial difficulty for killer, like: the less survivors there are obviously the harder it is to find a "fresh" one, and introduce abuse opportunities for survivors like constantly taking protection hits.

That's just a few examples and not even taking into account all of the perks, addons, powers and offerings this game has or various levels of player skill.
It needs to work on that scale, that's why my option is much safer and they can tweak it later. Only works on 1st survivor.

I can be totally wrong and I would stand corrected if I am.

The problem with this is that the math is just unfair for Killers.

I much better liked the Comeback- mechanic that would increase Survivor gen repair speeds if a Survivor dies early.
This would eliminate the need for tunneling, since the game would not turn to heavily in the Killers favor if they tunnel.

The killers job is to kill you. He shouldn't be punished for doing his objective well.

You'd have to clarify what dying early means exactly. In my case I proposed feature only working on 1st (hooked) survivor and with 0-2 gens done (can be changed).

Which math you found unfair? This punishment is very tame, early tunneling is unfair itself, also your option doesn't eliminate the possibility of tunneling itself, you're punishing killer post factum, so he can still kill in 3 hooks, my option punishes them with additional hook while still leaving the survivor alive. You're discouraging tunnel, I'm both discouraging and preventing it by giving additional hook. Which would be the point of anti-tunneling?

Yours would be harder to implement as well, how much speed would you give exactly?

I'm sorry, but It's hard to judge your suggestion in full capacity since you're not providing actual numbers and just vague ideas.

No conspicuous actions system, dead hard for distance, ds 5 seconds, solid hook timers/ gen timers, camping, hook grabbing, better killer addons/survivor addons, etc.

Most of these things balanced everything out asymmetrically but got removed because of an emotional community. Back then, you couldn't "3 gen" it was impossible, and your chases were not "given" to you to where a "tunnel" system was even needed.

We really have tried with these "features" over and over. The game has gotten way worse by this, and I don't see it EVER getting better again unless the community matures. DBD is becoming like every other video game, which is a very bad thing because you do not want predictability ever in this experience, but of course when you have people who don't know how to develop a game develop it, you get this crap lol.

The community needs to take a step back and realize that they were manipulated by content creators and ask for developers (the ones who should actually be responsible for any changes) to take charge once again. DBD back then was a stroke of genius because it ignored everyone else in the market it should definitely be like this.
