Vecna on controller
To our PC cousins playing the PTB: how does his power and movement feel with a controller?

I'd be interested to know this if anyone has tried it as well - I've given it a quick go and had no problem (but I don't normally play killer on a controller so have very little point of reference), so it would be interesting to see what others have thought.

Also wondering this! Watching videos of the PTB it strikes me as similar to placing old freddy snares, which tbh was very awkward/annoying for me on controller. But very interested to hear feedback from actual people testing!

I play on controller using Vine attack feels okay
Using Upside down travel feels like I'm skating on ice and It makes it hard to accurately get Survivors in the center of my Undergate attack

PC killer players would rather play blindfolded than with a controller. Like every chapter, we'll have to wait for the full release before we get a real sense of how the new killer plays on controller.

I guess itm feels like better pinhead maybe but from what i know nurse and pinhead arent good on console and are very hard (Im on PC so Idk but from what I heard just guess).

I know this is sort of a necro but I was thinking about the upcoming content and the state of controller in DbD again so…
The thing about both of those killers is that you have that distance progression/chargeup mechanic, for lack of a better term. You're generally not dealing with the full 3D plane when trying to land those powers unless you hold them too long and you have to correct for the survivor running back into you, in which case micro correcting can be kind of hard to do on controller. Instead you're mostly just pressing and holding your power button waiting for your landing spot to get to the point you want and releasing said button. And then once you do reach that spot, you're either engaging in standard killer gameplay that again, requires no real vertical aim (lunging with Nurse) or still aiming mostly parallel to the floor with Pinhead's gateway. Though I will say Pinhead's chains are much harder to land than Nurse's lunges…at least he's 4.6 m/s and has the box to make up for that somewhat.
With Vecna, outside of max distance vine attacks, you have to engage with full 3D aiming all the time, especially since he's 4.4 m/s, and you have to be more accurate than Nurse. And to be honest, that just sounds like it's going to be a miserable time for most controller players, what with the subpar implementation of controller that we have in this game. Maybe at lower skill levels where people move more predictably it'll be fine, but as soon as you get people that know how to play the game and path erratically...I'm predicting his kill rate will be abysmally low on consoles. And that's assuming that he isn't adjusted downward from the PTB.

The only struggle i really had when on xbox controller is turning when flying.
Overall he isnt as bad as any of the projectile killers like huntress, slinger and trickster. (Especially trickster my god), Not unknown because of his aoe which is relatively easy to aim.
(I didnt read ptb so you prolly meant ST vecna, my bad)

You are probably right I still think pinhead is harder than vecna 2.0 because he is 115 speed but he stops moving when he is casting the chain and if you miss you loose more distance and even if you hit the chains can be broken by random objects or other survivors and on some loops you can just break them by yourself while survivor gets released and makes it to the pallet or window so he is way harder to hit and more punished for their placement, nurse is probably easier than the upcoming vecna.

I'm still incredibly depressed that they saw console Trickster players struggling and decided removing the recoil was correct course of action, as if it'd get people to play the character. It's the core mechanic of controlling the camera on the analog stick that needs improvements BHVR…not the individual killer mechanics themselves (well…then again there's a history with dash/lunge powers). People aren't going to play the 8 projectile hit requirement killer when they simply can't track their targets as efficiently as they should be able to.
Yeah I think the Nurse → Vecna → Pinhead ranking (from easiest to hardest, and potentially least frustrating to play to most on controller) makes sense, assuming you're trying to utilize the full potential of their kits. I think Vecna beats Pinhead simply due to the sheer cadence of his ability spam, though my feelings may change when (or realistically if, not really sold on DbD in general right now) I get my hands on it. Otherwise by design Pinhead can be played in a "safer", less mechanically demanding way than the other two, only using the gateway when it's near-guaranteed that you won't lose much by missing or in situation where's it's really hard to miss in the first place due to map geometry.
He's definitely among my least favorite killers in the game despite that though.
