Opinions on 8 gen kick limit?

Feel free to place your opinions here? Are they fair? Should be increased, decreased? Do they create unfun or boring gameplay?

    Its a fine solution, it made the most egregious 3gen game playstyles too hard to be worth it.

    Some perks could be changed to count more in the system, Perks such as Surge/Jolt which is incredibly strong.

    I think there should a limit based on the killer. I also think they brought the feature after it was too late. We needed that limit during the COB/Overcharge/Eruption meta and when those perks got nerfed it didn't feel as bad being stuck in a 3-gen. I play Trapper a lot, and I know gens will fly, so I pretty much protect a 3-gen from the start of the match. If I do hit the 8 kick limit on a gen, it hurts. But if I'm playing someone like Blight then I never even get to the point that I reached the regression limit on a gen.

    While the limit on kicks is unfortunately something that couldn't be avoided due to old "Chess Merchant" and (previously) powerful perks, the mechanic now (since most regression perks are shadows of their former selves and Merchant can't hold zones like before) could use some small tweaks.

    While a kick limit (emphasis on kick) should stay, I think perks-triggered regression shouldn't count toward the limit anymore, or at least simultaneous regression events should count as only one, as it limits perk combinations (and the perks are much weaker now than when the limit should have been there) and easily backfires even when not purposefully trying to create a 3-gen.

    For example, a Killer using Surge & Eruption will effectively have 3 kicks on a gen if they down close enough (easily achieved on high-priority/center gens like R.P.D. main gens or Ormond main gen), such gens are important since Survivors (to avoid a 3-gen later) will often try to get them early and gravitate around them, which means more kicks if the Survivors are good enough at pressuring those gens without going down too fast. It isn't unheard of (although extremely rare) for skilled SWF teams to purposefully make a Killer kick a specific gen multiple times by keeping it at high progress without finishing it in order to forcefully make this gen almost free in endgame by reducing the Killer's ability to stop progression.

    A limit should exist to prevent ridiculous stalemates but, at least, simultaneous perk-triggered regression should only count as one regression event.

    Side-note: the perk "Undone", a perk that already near-useless due to being entirely dependant on Survivors failing skillchecks often, actually uses two regression events if tokens are used when kicking (tested with a friend in customs), even if the perk activates upon kicking and not separately which makes it even more of a joke.

    My opinion on this is that it's wrong and specifically limits only one side of the players, and instead of such artificial restrictions, the developers should take a comprehensive approach to the problem rather than artificially restricting the players. To achieve this, it was necessary to redesign the interaction with generators in general, and provide assassins with tools to counter the triangle's game. Unfortunately, our development team is not capable of this, and balance is not a priority for our game. As a result, we have what we have.

    I like it.

    You can still hold a 3-gen decently, but not to the point of holding the match hostage. Plus, it almost never showed up for me.

    The only problem is Eruption. It should be adjusted to not block the gens so quickly.

    I think 8 is fine. You typically won't exceed 8 unless you're heavily defending the gen or using some perk that triggers it excessively.

    certain perks shoudnt proc a "kick" tbh like eruptions down effect and surge

    I wish they made it to 6, because my god it takes way too long to proc.

    I don't like it's gen regression events, not kicks.

    I used to really like Eruption, Surge but that's just very bad now, because you will hit the limit basically every game.
