Something that bothers me with Springtrap

It is that Survivors dont want to engage with using his counterplay mechanics.

I get like 4 games a week where someone decides to touch it and reveal me.

Dont you guys think it should be worthwhile for survivors to use the counterplay?

I do wish that it was used more actively but maybe it's not a wortwhile endeavour. After all they are basically putting in a mechanic from an entirely different game. It ticks a box for me in terms of representation and maybe that's all it really needs to do.

I think survivors definitely can get use out of it but you need to have a high understanding of the game and the killer. Majority of players really are just better off ignoring them.

I think one thing that could be done to make the cameras more appealing to use and close the gap between swf and solo q is make it so survivors are revealed when you are using the cameras. This makes it much easier as a solo q survivor to quickly reveal springtrap in a chase. Which btw, i dont think is as overpowered as some people seem to believe. Seeing the aura of a ranged killer is not that great. It mostly helps for the short time that you have the axe embedded in you.

But i think he should get some minor buffs at the same time. A cooldown reduction in his axe abilities seems like it could be reasonable.

I actually think the counterplay idea itself isn't the problem necessarily. Springtrap's just not threatening enough to make it actually mandatory.

It's better to just do gens instead. It's objectively the best thing to do when you're not being chased.

Take Henry Vecna's counterplay; the reason you do it is to not only help the person being chased if they can outlast it but also to safeguard the rest of your team when the chase moves to the next survivor (which might be you).

Or Xeno's turrets - knocking Xeno out of their power turns them into a basic m1 killer which is way easier to deal with.

Sitting on gens is way more valuable than giving wallhacks. Out of shack you shouldn't really get use of it. I kinda wish they give him infinite undetectable when leaving door and using door disable his undetectable for like 40s.

Using Cameras to find Springtrap and prevent the undetectable. Sounds like playing Fnaf 3 again.
This is actually a good idea, but OP as hell if Survivors cant manage it.

I was also thinking if for the duration that he is revealed by the camera (10 seconds) he could have downgraded speed to 105/110 depending on the axe location.

Lots of people don't know you can even touch the doors. It's not as if there's anything in the game telling them that…

I dont think it is worth the time, i have done it a few times and the effect were minimal compared to using the same time on a gen.

Yeah as survivor its pointless using the doors honestly outside of niche scenarios
( eg. Going cross map to save someone about to go to second or death where running would not of made it)

Its also dangerous for survivors to use the doors because they risk the killer going back into the door at the same time, giving killer free hook.

In regards to the camera aspect Its just not that useful, It reveals the aura for a short time but they have to be looked at in the camera and there are may times I've tried to use and there is just no Line of sight to even reaval the aura through the cameras so its more useful for the surviours to do gens.

If there was a door blocking mechanic I think survivors would interact with doors way more as they would be useful (eg door locks for short period, killer can see its locked but only locked till runs out of "battery" like in first FNAF)

I liked the idea that you can do it, but personally I am more annoyed if I notice my teammates are doing it.
I can track him myself during the chase and I will much rather have them sit on gens.

In most situations, it's not worth the time imo.

Its only particularly useful if someone is currently looping the killer well, and gens are flying so someone gets time to go reveal him to help with the current chase. Otherwise knowing where he is for a few seconds doesnt amount to time on generators and is more in the killers favor as a slowdown.
