Where are the Killer POV questions?
Why does the latest survey only ask for opinions on Killer balance from the Survivor perspective?
I assumed going into it, that there'd be a section dedicated to asking Survivors their thoughts followed by a section asking for Killer opinions, but no. The survey asks for your thoughts on a couple of random Killers from the Survivor POV and then it just ends.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Survivors here. I play both roles fairly evenly myself and survivors absolutely deserve to have their say in these things. But why is there no Killer section afterwards too?
There's a noticeable trend of these surveys being geared towards the Survivors and having no real space for Killers to chime in. The uninstall survey had this exact same issue. All of the answers there assumed a Survivor respondent.
Kind of feels like only one side actually gets a voice in these things.

I just went around it by hitting tweak then putting buffs in the space. If they wont put it themselves ill do the extra work. (If they read it)

You act as if this mattered so far. 🤣
-16 -
I mean did the uninstall survey not have a effect on bhvrs decisions in that example? They pushed the change in the first place because of the survey.
12 -
The Uninstall-Survey did get updated since then. At least I am pretty sure it did. (I uninstalled a few weeks ago because I had to move some things around on my PC and noticed that it was different than before)
But yeah, given their track record and the miserable state of Survivor right now - them asking mainly Survivor questions does not mean anything if the feedback gets ignored or changes reverted instantly.
4 -
Oh Did it? Fair enough. Glad they changed it if they did.

I think with the waves of new players coming in for the licenses, getting tunneled more often than not, then leaving the game… well, I think the 'numbers' shows bhvr survivors are leaving more often than not. If something is affecting the bottom line ($$), bhvr will then act. Just wish they acted differently.
13 -
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't you pretty upset with the anti-camping/slugging/tunneling measures getting scrapped? Don't you think that if they'd concerned themselves with Killer feedback in the first place we could've gotten something more measured and proportionate that stood a fighting chance of actually coming to the game?
These kind of rigged surveys are exactly what lead to the nuclear Sinister Grace PTB that had to be entirely scrapped lol.
-4 -
Those things got scrapped because BHVR tends to do kneejerk reactions nowadays. Which is why I think those surveys are highly questionable since they will not really care for the feedback those provide.
It is probably a waste of time to fill them out. At least if a few forum posts and social media posts of people who have not really tested changes and are against said changes are enough to revert everything.
My post was mainly meant in a way that you act as if this would mean anything that they ask for the Survivor POV. They did before and nothing happened.

This is really odd my friend. My friend got a survey based on survivor experience towards killers. However, I got the opposite. I got a killer survey, based on balance, changes, adjustments, addons, fun, not fun etc.
I think BHVR sent out 2 surveys but they are based on what you play more as in a role. I don't know…Just speculating.
4 -
the survey is dynamic depending on how you answer
(editing to confirm that there is only one survey)15 -
The survey has personalized questions based on how you answer. I got to answer questions from a Killer's perspective for my main Killers, for example, and not from the Survivor perspective.
14 -
Well then I’m just confused because I can’t think of anything I put that would indicate I want to or should answer exclusively from the POV of a Survivor.
-5 -
After doing the Survey - people complaining about it overreact (once again). The only people who cannot answer the Survey are those who only play Killer and never Survivor.
Even if they are asking for the Survivor experience, you have 3 Killers you can write feedback on (and for each you can pick one out of 4). And you can also choose that you think the power is too weak or what should be changed.
So maybe read more than "As a Survivor" before complaining. E.g. you could have written something about Skullmerchant (which I did and I clearly did not call her overpowered). Trapper was another option.
8 -
Ah thank you for clearing that up. I think its a neat idea to give perspective on both sides.
-1 -
I put both sides and I got survivor POV questions

Same here.

Right. So it's perfectly fine for this group of players to be excluded from the survey? What happened to "obviously Survey should be for ALL players"?

So much discourse on these forums is just y'all intentionally missing the point and thus making any actual conversation impossible. The whole problem is the fact that every question was prefaced with "as a Survivor". Sure, I can type anything I want to into the boxes, but that was not what I was being asked to do.
-5 -
Of course they should be for all players. But seriously, are there any players out there who never play Survivor, only play Killer and have no idea at all how a Killer might be from a Survivor perspective? I cannot really believe that.
3 -
I put mostly killer and got "As killer," questions
7 -
I assume because they don't just release surveys for fun or to waste people's time. They're looking for something in particular. I haven't done the survey yet but if it is mostly seeking survivor povs then it's because they feel they're missing something from that side of the game
13 -
I was going to say, I chose the equally option since I do play both sides often and it gave me strictly killer options, oddly enough.
7 -
Oh, I chose that I play both and it gave me survivior perspective questions. Interesting!
3 -
cause game is miserable for survivors, is obvious, the game is too rough on casual survivors.
8 -
its miserable for both sides
2 -
It's a bit more nuanced than that Game has 4 sides: high skill survivors, low/mid skill survivors, low/mid skill killers and high skill killers.
Low skill survivors have the worst time and get stomped by the vast majority of killers, high skill killers have it almost as bad since they end up against sweaty survivor swfs most of the time, but can sometimes outplay them or get the dd easy game. low/mid skill killers vacillate between good and bad depending what mmr throws at them, they either get rofl stomped by good swf teams or bully low skill solo q games. And high skill survivors and the best time and win more than they lose.
-3 -
From my experience that isnt completely correct.
High skill killer are completely fine result-wise. You win almost every game, but you lose some that badly, that you question your skill. (depends obviously on the killer played)
7 -
They are the Killer PoV questions, you can put in how you like the killer/want them changed because they are underpowered too.
It's from BOTH perspectives, you're over reacting.5 -
u know i used to play killer 24-7 for years, but now i dont even enjoy killer cause is so much easier, i dont feel rewarded downing people in like 2meter pallets.
2 -
Its kinda embarassing how people always try to falsely blame bhvr if something doesnt highlight killer perspective. Every PTB, every update, every event and every survey its the same. And the same people ask why survivors dont have fun anymore. Hilarious.
3 -
Ah guess I'm not familiar, i don't play killer at super high level. I base that opinion off of what I see on the forums, lot of killer mains complain about how OP survivors are, and i tend to assume most of the forum players are pretty dedicated.
0 -
They are pretty dedicated to the game, but DBD is also a time-consuming game. 1000 hours in DBD would be dedication, but you count still as new player, who doesnt know much about the game.
-1 -
Well guess it's a good thing i have 1,100 hours in the game and then maybe know a thing or two hm?
-1 -
It wasnt trying to be disrespectful. DBD is just a really big game. Knowing all perks, powers and maps is a lot of information. And then there is techs, macro gameplay, synergy and so on.

I didnt really notice a bias as i thought the questions asked which killers YOU play and what your thoughts on their balance are. So naturaly i chose xeno, dracula, and foe the killer i have experience in but dont play anymore - sadako.
i asked for xeno to be reworked as the turret/tail gameplay has no middle balance, only people getting mowed down because there arent any turrets or bad placement, or the killer can barely catch anybody because they all run to the safe zone with turrets everywhere.
For dracula hes a strong killer whos main strength os adaptability but requires skill+precision+a sense of when to switch forms, so i figure hes balanced. But his addons standout as worthless especially the 2 reds, and cube of zoe. So i proposed alucards shield block the exit if someone gets hit with a pillar, as it sounds like a strong addon but you waste the slot for the whole game for them to run past the funny light show 90% of the time, even if hit. For the iri ring instead of curving pillars just widen them, and cube of zoe reworked to spawn pillars around all generators when one gets completed - avoidable but higher chance of atleast hitting something as ive seen the cube in use many times an only seen it hit like twice.
For sadako i proposed reworking condemned so that its more of a natural occurance that effects everyone by the endgame rather than being something the killer spams to avoid hooking at all. Like each generator adds permanent stacks and being hit with tapes adds temporary stacks or something. I stopped liking her to play as once she became a spammer.

No worries. There are plenty of people who come on the forum after playing the game for all of 10 minutes and think they know how the game should be balanced. Always hard to tell who knows what they're talking about and who is just complaining after having a bad few gsmes. But yeah i do have a reasonable idea of how the game works, tend to read up on the game a fair bit and watch streams etc as well as playing a lot.

From what I've heard sounds like the survey changed depending on how you answered the "what role do you play most" question. I answered both roles equally and got my questions asking about my perspective from the survivor side
0 -
I chose "Both sides equally" and was granted Survivor only -_- I included my wishlist for buffing the Plague, Executioner and Good Guy since it only asked a very narrow scope.
2 -
BHVR doesn't exactly invoke much goodwill given wording in past surveys, patch notes, streams. Maybe it's a language barrier, given the francophone location of the company. Keep an open mind, I guess.
