Does anyone else think 2v8 Gens need looked at.

I swear on Survivor and Killer experience I see the Gens flying like there birds eating seeds off the ground.

How is the Killers supposed to Keep up with this like maybe experienced killers may keep up but how about the newer or the not so skill killer players.

So has anyone else noticed where Gens are basically done as the match literally started

From time to time I try to bring this topic to the light.

I think the biggest problem is that the actual number of gens is tracked and not the progress.

    What do I mean?

Well if you play in an orginized group of Survivors over Discord or something like that it is highly possible to just not finish your gen as long as it is not in danger. So you got a 99% gen and all the others which are at another progression level still archive the bonus repair speed while in Soloque when the gen would have poped the extra gen speed would have vanished.

Thats what I thought. If this was a returning bug. I just noticed how the game just started and the games done.

If anyone has footage of this please place it here or make a post of the problem. Im on switch so its not possible for me to show it

Well I am afraid that this isn´t a bug my dear friend. It works as intended.

As long as a certain amount of gens is up the game doesn´t differ the bonus gen repair speed it doesn´t matter if the remaining gens are at 0 or 99%.

    So it gets… abused?

I was just saying. I do agree it gets abused either way. I wonder how long it will take before they fix it.

They may need to remove or even killswitch the repair bonus. But I know they will not.

Btw love ur pov on this

We can do this after we look at how every game is a skull merchant simulator now. KICK GEN KICK GEN KICK GEN KICK GEN KICK GEN. Repeat for 10-15 minutes towards the back end of a match until you win the war of attrition. Enthralling gameplay that makes me want to play more survivor!

SWFs have a higher chance of winning than solo ones, that's nothing new. However, they can get stuck healing or saving, which will put pressure on them all

Additionally, I'd recommend learning to play mobile killers or those who ignore looping mechanics (even slightly: Huntress, Nemesis, Wesker)

This will speed up your hooks significantly

I personally choose killers based on 3 categories: those who ignore looping mechanics, those who are very mobile, and those who have side objective(s)

    Anti-loop:

    • Nurse

    Mobile:

    • Blight
    • Billy
    • Oni
    • Wesker

    Side objective:

    • Nemesis (spray + zombies)
    • Wesker (spray)
    • Oni (healing)

On top of all this, even SWFs can be potatoes and leave the last generator in a terrible hexagon, which, with the right killer tactics, will turn the trial to -7/8

Therefore, quickly starting generators (fast repairing speed) is not always a guarantee of loss. You can lose 2/3 of the generator before you put pressure on the team of survivors, but in the end, tactics + survivors' mistakes + which killers and on what map with what experience you are playing, there are many factors here, you just need to be able to understand the situation, which comes with time

If survivors spread on gens like in the normal mode and killers commit too much for a chase, probably its gg. Luckily people have been sleeping on this.

What i don't like about 2v8 is how hooking the same survivor 3 times and hooking 3 different survivors one time has the same weight for the catch up mechanic (gen boost).

If you start to spread hooks the last two gens feels impossible to hold if everyone is alive; and by the other way around, if you start to kill people early you will get a pressure that will result in a big snowball that might lead you to a win.

BHVR should look at this and stop tunneling being the most effective strategy is this mode too.

I’m a pretty casual player (maybe 10 or so hours per week at the most) and haven’t had any trouble in 2v8 on the killer side (I play solo not with a friend). Not a lot of data points yet (it doesn’t include the few matches I played yesterday yet), but it’s definitely possible to do well as killer. I have been playing Wraith and focusing on patrolling gens and keeping survivors injured. Survivors will often stay near gens that have a lot of progress rather than pivoting to other gens and most don’t like to stay injured and will waste time finding someone for healing, so I use that to my advantage. You definitely need at least one killer with good mobility (like Wraith) to apply pressure to in-progress gens in 2v8 mode.

I try to be the middle man on these situations while I think we still need to be focusing on making survivor interesting and fun adding new stuff for them. I do think gens are little fast and believe down the line we could add to extra 2 gens they cutout for whatever reason

Its insanity how fast some matches go by. I got plenty of videos where all 8 gens are completed in about 5 minutes, often 4 gens being done in less than 2 minutes. That's like 30 seconds per gen, hard to tell if someone is cheating no thanks due how chaotic the match is and how fast it can just snowball.

And it doesn't help some maps like Groaning Storehouse or Asylum Ward are incredibly huge and very easy to position yourself around as survivor.

    They doubled everything EXCEPT gens.
You have to complete 8 to escape and 2v8 gens have 70 instead of 90 charges, so in reality you have to repair only 6 1v4 gens.
That and the fact survs are abusing/manipulating the anti snowball…
