The forum feels pointless

Why do the devs or a community manager barely react to suggestions or questions here in the forum? Sometimes I feel like they dont even care.

It feels very passive until you realize if Developers reacted to some posts more than others it would create jealousy between sides OR if any critique was interpreted more harshly than intended. this has happened often.

Furthermore I don't think they are receptive to a new idea into production every day, you have to keep in mind while the community managers watch and jot down what we ask for so they can track a trend, the other devs are working on actual content which has been agreed on that should be made. So its still important for the devs to know what we want so they can put it into production, but loads of puzzles pieces need to fall into place for it.

Lets take for instance what my dream QOL is, which is Chaos Shuffle features to be in the basegame = random perk every game. Ive asked for this many times, so 100% BHVR knows this is a QOL option for them its on their radar, but I dont think many other players want it. So basically idd have to wait for that and hope BHVR in their wisdom finds my idea appealing so they push it into production.

The point of the forum is more for community discussion and interaction with each other, some ideas making their way to the devs is just a side bonus like bug reporting is.

I mean it literally says feedback and suggestions and "our team will be happy to read these“ which I highly doubt at this point

Oh, you mean this specific category, not the forum as a whole?

I would argue it's still for community discussion on game feedback and game suggestions, but it is definitely more skewed towards the devs noting down some of the stuff written here for sure.
I've personally always felt there's a temptation to think that if the devs are reading our feedback, that should necessarily mean they act on that feedback directly and immediately, but I don't think that's super fair.

Personally, I think someone at BHVR does read these posts and I think that does affect their decisionmaking overall, but they have other things to weigh it all against as well. Listening to our feedback doesn't always mean doing exactly what's suggested.

Obviously ive done everything in my power to "suggest" a Shanoa Legendary skin along with Simon Belmont and any other cosplays that don't have a legendary skin, because the most frustrating part of having a cosplay of your absolute favorite character is knowing if they came out around the re chapters, theyd atleast have a legendary before a cosplay, and they now acknowledge that your favorite character isnt worth the effort. But trying even a year and a half later, ive still yet to even get a "not possible" or "we'll send the suggestion to the dev team" or anything. The closest ive ever gotten to them even acknowledging i exist is when i asked for them to change my name to this^ and it worked.

So since i know i get fully ignored on that topic, or even richters face needing a rework or rick n daryls screams/grunts needing replacement or dustin and robin's height problems, or nearly any suggestion ive ever made. I just use the forums to talk to people and see their opinions on the game, answer questions and try to get the mods attention occasionally (without success).

Once they got rid of bug reports, it fell to the wayside. Ironically, their new bug report system is just as slow and unreliable.

Cause they have no idea whats good for their game. So its better to say nothing.

Hey, did you know that Baermar hasn't been playable as Baermar for a year now despite multiple reports? Sorry, I should be more thankful.

Been playing him the whole time so don't know what you mean by "hasn't been playable". You might need a definition of non-playable and only bugs I find about him is that he sometimes has Aestri's voice lines. That does not make him unplayable.

You can't really say devs are good at fixing bugs… We have some very old bugs (looking at Twins).
Then we see it mentioned in patch notes, just to still exist.

well part of the reason is because there's not many of them here in the first place now. to play devil's advocate, as well almost every time a community manager comments on here, they get flamed up the wazoo for things that have nothing to do with them, so i can't really blame them for not wanting to comment personally.

"Sometimes" as in you literally cannot play him without turning into Aestri. 😵 But OK.

13 days ago I reported a cosmetic bug on the new bug reporting website. 7 days ago I bumped it, asking why there's no progress on it. It still has no progress on it right now. 13 days with no progress, and when I'd report a bug on this forum, within few or several hours the status would change to "under review" or "acknowledged".

The bug reporting system seems to be worse than before.

It's always been pretty inconsistent for me. The shirt/waist joints always got fixed pretty quickly, which I will give BHVR credit for. But others were always a gamble and that hasn't changed. That Baermar issue I mentioned has been a problem since June last year and it's still unfixed, which is concerning because you have to pay real money for him and all of his cosmetics.

The new site should theoretically be an improvement, but the last time I checked they're in the several hundreds and many reports haven't been assigned to anyone at all even if they're high priority.

Reason why "shirt/waist joints always got fixed" is that those are done by the graphical designers of the game not the programmers who work with gameplay mechanics and new content. Those are quite simple to fix anyway.

I don't disagree that they are slow to fix some bugs but recently they have been fixing those that I have reported so they are doing more than with the old system on my opinion. About the signing them to someone they don't seem to do that at all in there. I have not seen any of the bugs be marked for someone to work on but they clearly fix them anyway as there is total 58 marked as fixed and they have not even marked all fixed that have been fixed. I have like three reports still open that are fixed that myself have stated to be fixed in the version they were fixed. There is also a person checking them every work day as they respond to the ones that are not bugs but account issues and such closing those off so there is clear activity from Behaviors side.

Still would not be a bad idea to hire someone to only fix bugs until they get most of them fixed, but what I have been observing the new site works way better than the old forum report and is still more out in the open and easier to navigate. So its overall total improvement.
