Resident Evil Requiem
Hello Behaviour Interactive team,
I would love to suggest a new Resident Evil chapter inspired by Resident Evil Requiem. The Resident Evil collaborations in Dead by Daylight have been some of the best content in the game, and many fans would be excited to see the new characters from the latest title join the Fog.
In particular, I would love to see Grace Ashcroft added as a survivor. She is a strong and memorable character who went through intense and terrifying events, which makes her a perfect fit for Dead by Daylight’s atmosphere.
A Resident Evil Requiem chapter with Grace as a survivor could be an amazing addition to the game and would definitely excite many Resident Evil fans.
Thank you for your work and for continuing to support the game!

Requiem was so good. Just finished my second playthrough, this time on Insane mode. I would LOVE a Requiem Chapter. The previous RE chapters are both great, so I'm sure they'd do a third one justice.

I’m glad you think so too! Requiem was amazing. I would really love to see Grace Ashcroft as a survivor in Dead by Daylight.

To be honest, I can't stand Grace. Really displeased with how they handled Alyssa too because she was my main back in the 2000s. 😤 But it is interesting that the new characters haven't been featured in any official collabs. Might be a Capcom thing.

Grace is the best new Resident Evil character in years.
1 -
I disagree. I think once the dust settles and the novelty wears off, she'll likely be forgotten. It's happens to every character that isn't in the first 2 games.
-2 -
What did you not like about Grace?
1 -
I don’t think so. Some characters stay popular because of how well they’re written and how players connect with them. For many people, Grace was one of the most memorable parts of Requiem.
Time will tell, but I think she has the potential to become a fan favorite.

The game is a reimagining of 5, 6, and Revelations 2 and she acted as the Natalia. That archetype I didn't find that interesting then and I still don't. Beyond that, the stuttering was really silly and awkward and not in a good way. 😵 It all sort of blended into a manic pixie thing for me.
Loved Leon's portrayal though, which is a relief because I really disliked Chris in 7 and 8 and he's one of my favorite characters.
Grace is also brand new. Look how the Winters family has aged, for instance. People still do love characters over time. For instance, I've always liked Billy. But I know that I'm a minority.

Resident Evil Requiem's success alone basically guarantees that, at the very least, we'll see some RE9 cosmetics eventually.
If I had to guess, Grace will either be a Survivor or a legendary skin, Leon's RE9 look will likely be added.
A "Commander" skin for Legion is very possible, although it would be a bit redundant since we already have H.U.N.K.
I really hope we never get Zemo as a Killer or skin for Wesker. He's a cheap knockoff of Wesker already and the laziest possible villain design for Capcom (the game is great though, easily in my top 3 RE games, but come on, dumb as he was, even Simmons was at least his own character and not just a Temu version of another character).

While you’re right about most characters being forgotten, you’re dead wrong about grace. I’ve been a fan on the franchise since the beginning and grace is the best character in a very long time.
2 -
You're entitled to your opinion. I just don't personally see what sets her apart from any other side characters we've had over the years other than her having inflated significance in one title. Jake had a very similar role in 6 and also came out of nowhere but was easily forgotten. Again, get back to me in a year or two and tell me if you still care about her as much as you care about the main cast.

zeno is supposed to be what he is though. That alone makes wesker getting a cosmetic for him a good choice.

jake was an awful character in an awful video game largely panned as the worst in franchise.
Grace is a great character in a great video game largely adored and considered a massive goty contender. Grace was everything she was supposed to be for what capcom wanted. They absolutely nailed it.

And yet Requiem uses several elements from that game as its backbone. 🤔 It's fairly evident that it's meant to be a reimagining of 5, 6, Revelations 2, and Umbrella Corps. If they were so bad, they wouldn't even be worth retracing.
What makes her great though? What did they want and what did they nail?
-2 -
Really wish they hadn’t made Chris and Claire legendary skins I know they regret it everyday
4 -
No hate on Grace or Leon but for me the real stars in requiem are the zombies.

I think that what sets Grace a bit apart from the rest of the main cast is that, for once, she has almost zero true training (she's FBI, but not a field agent) and she's little more than a traumatized girl trying to survive at first. Literally every other RE protags were either trained to some degree or special in some way (Ethan might not have had official training before RE7, but he wasn't just a normal dude either for 99% of RE7 and got training from Chris between RE7 and 8. Claire wasn't as trained as her brother before RE2 but Chris taught her a little.)
Grace literally stumbles when running and shakes her hands when using the Requiem (aka the wrist-breaker 3000), her "melee" against zombies is just pushing them. Her gameplay is much different than most RE characters in the past.

Hopefully we never get another part of RE. DbD shouldnt be a reservoir for other games. And escpecially not for new games. If youre a fan, go play the game itself.

Seriously. They're my two favorite characters in the franchise. I would've loved an OG CODE:Veronica Claire and an RE5 Chris.
I understand your point, but she's definitely not the first. I would still count Ethan and Claire in their first titles. Plus you have Steve, the majority of the Outbreak cast, Ashley, Moira, and the Resistance cast. I never played the additional 8 chapter but I'd assume Rose too.
She's still wielding the Requiem effortlessly overall and can take potshots like Alyssa. And her gameplay is largely based on Ethan's. I don't think either of those are a bad thing, for the record. Gameplay is very important. I just don't know that that makes her one of the most important characters.

she doesn’t wield it effortlessly the first time she fires it is hilarious.
1 -
She wags her wrist instead of dropping it or smacking herself in the face. 😵

so basically this entire thread where you said she was a bad character you never even played the game to know her. Got it.
1 -
I never said she was a bad character. I said I don't like her and that I don't find her to be elevated above other characters in the franchise. You claimed she was awesome and hit an unspecified benchmark and when I asked you to clarify, you never did. Likewise, I find it ironic that you're claiming to have been a fan since 1996 and implied you've never taken a break ("fan since the beginning"), while also being the arbiter of who has actually played the games and who hasn't. That's a very lofty position to have. Hats off to you. 😎

I only called you out based on your own posts about her competency which you clearly don’t know. Another poster already hit the nail on the head when it came to her while i was at work and didn’t feel the need to elaborate.
Capcom designed her entirely to be the horror aspect of the game while adding leon to be the action hero aspect of the game. Grace is untrained, shes terrified, well acted and overall great. Watching her growth through out the game was in a similar vein as claire from resident evil 2. Though grace was way more traumatized than claire and significantly less trained than claire. It shows in the way she can barely hold her own gun and stabilize it at the start of the game. We’re not even talking about the requiem here. Her normal 9mm pistol.
your own misunderstanding of the character and how she plays is why i said you haven’t played the game.1 -
Again, I reiterate. You clearly know best.
-2 -
I am about 60-70% in the game.
Very well made like you expect it.
But sadly i am a bit disappointed. Grace walks so incredibly slow and the emotions with some tragic companions don´t really click.
Leon for me is a bit to cool and stylish with his hair and this kind of bubbly movement that reminds me more of RE 6 than RE 4.
1 -
What they did with Chris in 7 and 8 was tragic tbh.
Personally, I really liked Grace, but I get where you're coming from.

Ive seen they alredy have grace in fortnite. I dont know if it was the day of re9s release or not but certainly within a day or 3 of its release. So the re9 characters are alredy being handed out for collabs but dbd's character model process seems extremely slow. (Also i really loved outbreak file 1 & 2 and i mained Alyssa too lol wouldve been nice to make an outbreak remake or 3 or somthing with her returning)
1 -
The intention was for sure to reimagine 5/6/Rev2/UmbCorps. I'm not mad about it but it makes the timeline incredibly confusing now to say the least (moreso than it was already).
His appearance is uncanny valley to me, but the behavior is what I like the least. He's so much more like he was in Biohazard: The Beginning or Jill's Diary in 3 than where we left off with him in 6. Which is a real shame because I feel like his arc was a good farewell to him in 6.
I stand corrected. 😎 Anything Fortnite gets seems like equal opportunity for DBD so we can probably count on it.
Literally decades waiting for them to do something with her and then it's that underwhelming. 😭 And then that commander later on… I mentioned Chris had a farewell I liked in 6 and I do not feel that way about those two here, sadly.

Yet they could easily make multiple costumes for them by just making more Legendaries but with a discount if you own the character or the like, it's just a matter of actually taking the time to do it.
Soma has 2 versions of himself if even they are a recolour, no reason at all those couldn't be alternate costumes.
Also @UnicornMedal all your statements are like… inconsistent? If you know the story you'll know Natalia has no similarities lorewise or personality wise to Grace? That feels like you only have bits of the plot or don't understand it?
Also Alyssa got a huge sendoff and became a massive contributor to one of the largest conclusions of RE lore than any character has had in years. We get to also see she lived a happy life, let's not pretend Oubtreak sold loads back in the day coz it didn't, you should know that. File 2 sold 200k copies, so expecting Alyssa to play a bigger role than she did is crazy to me. File 1 sold on brand name alone, and I'm pretty sure it didnt even meet RE0 numbers (which is one of the lesser at 1.2mil)
So it's always funny when the "OG fans" tell me they played back in the day, when they didn't just pick it up on emulator later or something, because that game was doodoo offline without walkthroughs.
Anyways just my 2 cents lol2 -
i owned both outbreak games on ps2. What held them back was online console gaming was really new. So most people probably didn’t enjoy outbreak as a singleplayer experience. I really wish they would remaster outbreak. Those games in the new re engine could be its own live service style game.
Outbreak file 1 and 2 were so far ahead of their time. I had the prima strategy guide and everything for it. I've never tried it on an emulator maybe i should just to experience it again.
