Game overhaul thats needed.
Dbd is suffering heavily. Killers below the wanted threshold and Survivors in long queue times and both sides not having fun. We heavily need an overhaul and bhvr REALLY needs to stop looking at spreadsheets and look at the bigger picture. Without these changes the game is doomed to fail in the near future. So these are the changes I'm not just suggesting but RECOMMENDING that it should be implemented as soon as possible.
Generator repair and regression: Generators are flying on repairs and the regression being blocked only makes the game miserable for killers. However having a generator or multiple regress from nearly complete to none is a major issue. So this is the fix.
- Generators now have a minimum of 2 minutes of repair speed (without repair perks, see below on hard caps)
- Generators will have "checkpoints" based on % completed that it cannot regress past (25% per) each checkpoint on default will be every 30 seconds. So if a gen is 65% done, it will only regress down to 50% max.
- Generators will no longer be blocked to the killer in any means
- Repeated kicks to a generator will have dimishing results over time, meaning the amount of time to regress the gen to the previous checkpoint per kick on the same gen will be much slower
This makes gen defense easier while making sure Survivors don't lose all progress if it gets camped. It also doesn't punish the killer in a way where it becomes impossible to play. Both sides benefit.
Another issue is tunneling and camping hooks. Killers generally do not like having to do this and survivors hate this so this suggestion is below.
- When a survivor is unhooked by any means they have 10 seconds of endurance and 50% haste unless the exit gates are powered, when the gates are powered this is no longer granted. If the survivor gets healed by at least 25% progress within the timeframe the buffs are removed.
- If a killer is within 25 meters of a hook the killer is NOT given the unhook notification.
- If the killer is within 25 meters of a hooked survivor for more than 30 seconds and not in chase they get a 10% hindrance debuff till the killer leaves the hook beyond 25 meters. The survivor is able to unhook themselves if this debuff occurs to the killer. When the survivor has unhooked themselves the debuff lingers for 5 seconds. The timer will not reset if the killer leaves the radius and comes back.
This makes camping hooks a non ideal way of playing but doesn't give a major punishment to the killer and gives killers incentives to leave the hooked survivor area.
Another issue is matchmaking and there are 2 issues with it. Skill based matchmaking and SWF. While some people don't have an issue with this some do. I'd recommend implementing these options upon Queueing for a game.
- Add an option to not be in a skill based matching lobby, while it can be devastating for a new player going against pros, this is how we learn from our mistakes faster.
- Add an option to be put into matchmaking with solo queue only. This will prevent both survivors and killers from queuing those in a party.
Both of these options broaden the matchmaking and can significantly improve queue times and benefit different players.
HARD CAPS: Hard caps are caps that have a max on it so things are balanced. These can be changed but these are the caps that I recommend adding.
Survivor:
- Gen repair speed: 150%
- Healing speed: 125%
Killer:
- Gen repair slow down: 75%
- healing slowdown: 50%
this will make the games less rush able and less of a slowdown.

These changes would not be healthy for the game at all.
I can just imagine Killers timing out the matches because why would they have any reason to leave a 3 gen if they can have unlimited kicks and If they leave the gens they get permanent progress they cant remove.
Also separate ques wont work. All the killers will just que for soloq and it'll lead to 2v8 level ques in that mode for killers.
It just seems like nerf survivors without thinking about effects it would have on gameplay.2 -
looks like survivors are below the wanted thresholds, and long killer queue times

Cant say much of this sounds good for the game. Opting out of playing swfs would absolutely kill queue times for pretty much everyone. Swfs would literally never find a game. And killers would be waiting very long times to find a totally solo q game. And lets be honest playing soloq absolutely sucks. Trying to pigeonhole the entire survivor player base into soloq would just straight up kill the game in a month or two. opting out of skill based matchmaking is an odd choice. Tbh I'm not convinced the mmr is particularly solid anyway.
Best option would be a casual versus ranked playlist split.
Removing posthook endurance during endgame is also super unfair. Tbf been discussing this on a thread recently that was complaining about borrowed time during the endgame. There's no reason whatsoever to give killers free kills during endgame like that. Not every endgame unhook situation is a 4 man swf bullying a killer. The other anti hook camp stuff is so similar to how it already works it doesn't really do much.
In all fairness a cap on gen speeds might help a bit. With the insane amount of perks floating around people can combo out and finish gens stupidly quickly.

So you want basekit BT nerfed back down AND completely removed in endgame so that end game saves are basically impossible? Generators now take 30s longer and killers can still bring four slow downs? Killers get no unhook notification if they're standing close enough to the hook to just see it with their eyes? And you want to make SWF, one of the reasons I and probaby many others even touch the role nowadays, unplayable because killer will always choose the odds of stomping solos? And high-skill players also now get built-in smurfing with random matchmaking.
Looking forward to my 90% KR and never playing survivor again.

There are less killers because survivors have lots of protections. Simple math....harder to get kills equals happy survivors and sad killers. And your suggestion for a fix is more protections? This isn't about sides since I play both but the biggest problem with DBD is it needs killers and survivors and if one side is happy the other isn't and it leaves the game in a constant state of imbalance. And that can't be fixed because it is core DBD.
