Skull Merchant in need of large buffs
Skull Merchant is by far the worst killer in the game. Otz has her ranked as F tier. There's just nothing that's effective on her. The change to 1 scan line made her unplayable. BHVR is not buffing Skull Merchant due to the 3 gen play style. Just make it so drones can't be placed near gens or something so she can be buffed.

3 gens arent possible because of the gen kick limit anyways. It makes me really angry that they are thinking about scrapping the rework because the rework was the reason they made her unplayable in the first place. She NEEDS her second scanline and the stealth drones back, the haste can stay the same tbh.

she was intentionally hard nerfed into the unplayable state she is in right now in 2024 because they wanted to rework her. And from what I hear, apparently they want to scrap the rework because it would take too much work. I dont think any other company wouldve gotten away with that. To my mind, they should either revert all of her nerfs or just delete the character altogether and give people the money back paid for the character and the cosmetics… its a disaster, really

Let's be honest. BHVR doesn't care about skull merchant anymore. They nerfed and reworked her multiple times but so many players hated her so much for past gen kick merchant that they kept Disconnecting against her and refusing to engage. So BHVR gave up and nerfed her into the ground. Im not raging against BHVR....I understand. BHVR tried to change her but no one cared. They gave up on her and it is sad but I seriously doubt they will do anything with her now. First impressions are important and she got a terrible firdt impression and the community won't let it go

BHVR is a business. They tried to invest in her and no one was interested. There are plenty of things I complain about BHVR doing but this isn't one of them. Because the community doesn't want her and they tried to change her and get people to warm up to her but no one did. BHVR had their hands tied this time

The people hating her didnt even know how her power worked and still thought about chess merchant. The 70% killrate she once had while being totally balanced was because of people killing themselves on hook. They gutted her with the promise of a rework and now obviously refuse to do so. This is a huge ######### move, ngl

I agree. She was changed into a stealth killer and no one in the community even noticed because they were still so mad about gen kick. I agree she got unfairly nerfed into the ground. The community just wouldn't give her a chance even after chess merchant was gone. It sucks.

Frankly due to other changes in the game they could more or less restore SM to prenerf status and it would be fine. You can't perma three gen anymore.

Yeah, I really hope they still do some rework, because she is really not a good spot.
Funny they gave her few buffs, just to nerf her stealth for it. I guess she was too strong for them…

I was doing alright with her despite the nerf, until the recent changes to stealth activation. That killed it for me. And i prestiged her to 100 before the change. In still hoping for rework despite the devs kinda giving up. It is odd they keep giving her cosmetics compared to other killers, they must be selling somehow.

I was willing to play her even in her nuked version, but devs just had to mess her up even more.

Sadly i think she's just a dead character at this point. Survivors are gonna irrationally hate her no matter what so she's gonna be shoved away and left to rot so no one will play her either. She wasnt even that good before the recent gutting.
Anyone who spent real money on her chapter should honestly get compensation from BHVR for this abysmal support

I agree SM needs massive buffs. Krasue in A+ is WILD, girl is gutted into like B tier at best.

I just noticed this Video by Otz is outdated, Skull merchant was changed in 9.3.0 | Mid-Chapter Nov 25, 2025 but Otz video was from Oct 15, 2025.
