I love the new fog vials. More charges is a W. They are WAY more helpful now than what they were. My humble opinion good changes. I still think 4 charges could be buffed though to 5 or 6 given they are still not the strongest item's to use in the game but that's just me.

Still not worth anything. Why do you ask for more feedback when you already got an obliterating amount since you butchered them?

Yeah, I don't normally bring them into trials but if I find them in chests or whatever - I typically pick them up and use them especially if my current item has no charges. I would have to obviously see how they are currently, I've got some nice little plays with the fog vials in their prior form anyways.
But I use them in mid chase when I have a bit of distance or to obscure the vision of the killer, especially if they are dash wise.
Edit: I don't think fog vials (even though I did recommend them to place them into the game, who knows if Behavior did that because I said it would be good to have more diverse builds.)
Obviously Medkits, Toolboxes, and Flashlights are meta for a reason. I doubt even if they were unlimited that survivors would bring them, but I'm just speaking on behalf of the fact that they were hardly utilized in the beginning forms. People probably played around with them a bit then thought, I might as well bring a Medkit to heal myself. I might as well bring a Toolbox to repair gens faster. I might as well bring a Flashlight for flashlight saves/flashlight blinds at windows/pallets. Fog Vials have a skill expression, in my opinion.

They're still bad. Really bad.
If you want to make a smoke grenade, then make one, and make it unique. As of now, they're still sitting just above Maps in the garbage dump of Dead By Daylight. They're not instant, they have a very small radius, if you're Injured, they do nothing, if the Killer is too close to you, they do nothing, you only got 4 shots to use this thing with zero way to get Charges back, the main effect of them is worthless, the Add-Ons they have are even more worthless, and they're on a cooldown.
There is zero reason at all to use a Fog Vial when we even have Perks like Sprint Burst and Lucky Break that do a better job of getting away from the Killer.

still bad. please just bring back 9.1.0 version of fog vials. there was nothing wrong with them and they got nuked because people didn’t like change.

So true! All they needed was not being better depending on different maps

What specifically about the 9.1.0 version do you feel is missing here?

Move the interface to the bottom center

the part of using it during chase and having unlimited charges. now, the only way of using it is by popping the fog vial when the killer is on their way to you which doesn’t feel fun imo.
using it during chase and trying to evade the killer like that was way more fun than the current version in 9.5.0.

I hate to say it but I think they are less fun to use now and not really any better than they were before (and in many cases they are weaker), unless you have the iri addon.
They have more charges now but unless you have the iri addon you pretty much cannot use them in chase anymore since being inside the fog doesn't really obscure vision that much at all by default so they are only really useful if you have a ton of distance on the killer/if they are approaching from far away and that just makes them kinda boring imo with there not really being many correct ways to use the item, especially since the fog cloud being opaque only works from the outside and not from the inside looking out.
I might be in the minority here since I actually really enjoyed using them in their previous iteration (even with the nerfs I still used them often and found them fun to play with), but I played several matches with them tonight and I did not have fun using them at all, I really don't think I will bring them much at all anymore if they stay like this.
The only things wrong with the prior version imo was that they needed to be fixed to be consistent across all maps and they needed 1 more charge added to not be so limiting. Overall they were much more interesting and could be used in a wider variety of situations than the new ones.

Im finding it to be of great use when unhooking to avoid the unhooked survivor getting tunneled. If you unhook and fog, it gives them a chance at vacating the area if the killer tries coming back.

I preferred the old smoke making it hard to see but 4 charges is a huge win. I religiously use them for my no Mither treacherous crows build so I'm happy to have 2 extra charges since my first 2 were spoken for (counter lethal, then leave the bssement)

The problem with Fog Vials is that like, yeah I could bring one and try to use it when I know the killer's coming to waste some of their time, but I could also just use Sprint Burst and/or Fixated + Champion of Light to achieve a similar result with arguably much more consistency, with more utility outside of that one specific scenario, and also bring a better item.

Just bring back initial fog vial with 2 or three charges and everything is fine. And stop making knee-jerk reaction on killer doomposting.

I've had survivors run builds that have bamboozled me mid chase with plot twist and I couldn't find them LOL they seem better, IDK if they are like as good as other items, but they are better.
I feel they are perhaps a bit doodoo on large outdoor maps, maybe that's where you could look at improving them, coz its really obvious on those and there isn't really anywhere to hide.1 -
I haven't bothered trying these myself but I've played against them and they're still useless. I never loose sight of someone and the sctrach marks are visible through almost the whole radius. The extra charges are the only good thing, but four charges of garbage is just more garbage. Make them more opaque inside and more covering of tracks/aura and I'll try them.

The new Fog Vials are bad and boring. My reasons why:
- If you use it when you anticipate the killer's arrival, but the killer has high mobility (Blight, Nurse, Billy, Sadako, etc.), then the Vial is completely useless. It doesn't matter that they cannot see the inside of the fog right away, because they can move super fast inside the Fog, and then see perfectly where everyone is.
- If you are on an indoor map, good luck guessing where the killer is coming from. You need to use the Vial and run a random direction, and hope that you don't happen to be running in a direction where you meet the killer. (exceptions would be if the killer just hooked, is coming towards you, and then you know the direction they're coming from).
- If you are versing a stealth killer, and have no idea they are approaching you, then you'll only realize it once they are close to you - close enough that even if you do drop the fog, they will perfectly see where you are, since everything is visible from within the fog.
The fog vials right now are useless most of the time. Not to mention boring. They don't really apply to fast mobility killers. Their best use was when they worked while you were within the fog. They just needed to be adjusted so that they would work equally on any map (rather than work really well on the Saloon, and not do anything on Fallen Refuge, for example).
And if you don't want to encourage the gameplay that the Fog Vials enable, then please discontinue them, because it sucks that our precious bloodpoints are being wasted on a really bad, not fun, useless item.

Killer Q or 4 sec not looking good

It is not that useless anymore. But better with more charges, but I wish it would be harder to track inside the fog.
I see survivors use it when they have the killer on their tail, which does not work in their favor.
The Fog vials were perfect on the first release tbh.
But for now, medkits, toolboxes, flashlights is top 1. Maps have become trash, fog vials is a bit better than trash

I've described my issues with the Fog Vials pre-update in the PTB feedback and I still hold by them:
Players aren't going to use Fog Vials unless they can be guaranteed value out of them, and even though they are more useful than before, you can't really feel the value they give you. And if they don't feel good, even if they are better, players aren't going to care.
The new fog vials are really only useful at long-range, or to obfuscate auras.
If I pop a Fog Vial at long range, I've revealed my position 100% guaranteed.
I can't always tell if a Killer has an aura perk, so if I pop it to hide an aura, I'm taking a total gamble/risk.
If I pop a Fog Vial at close range, it is absolutely useless. It is too small, too short-duration, too easy to see through, and it does not feel good at all.
I also think a major misleading caveat to using the Fog Vial is that, due to the difference in opacity when inside of vs outside the fog, it can create a misleading effect for the Survivors, where you can easily forget that Killers inside of the bubble can see you when you're outside of the Bubble. Which makes leaving the Bubbles significantly more dangerous.
Since it's impossible to guarantee value out of this, Survivors are much more likely they KNOW they can get value out of. Medkits and Toolboxes have direct effects that you can immediately feel.
Every item in the game needs to feel WORTH running, and if you can't guarantee value out of a Fog Vial, why would you take it?
Fog Vials either need Potent Extract base kit so players can use them at close range and feel like they're getting value, or else they need unlimited charges back so that when you're gambling on trying to hide, you don't feel like your item is going to waste if you fail to get value.
Try: General Fog Vials have unlimited charges, but using the Potent Extract add-on caps it to 4 uses?
