Giving each Survivor a special perk, how Killers have a special Ability.
My vision: each survivor has a "5th" perk slot. This is unchangeable and permanent, and it's one of the survivors perks. That way, each survivor is no longer cosmetic, they actually have something unique to them. Like, you know every Feng has technician along with her other choice perks, or every Meg has adrenaline.
Thoughts? Is this game ruining, or taking it to the next level? Maybe only p100s get the 5th perma-slot?

It would form a new meta of certain characters being played, effecting cosmetic sales and general game balance.
They also cannot just throw in 52 new perk ideas leaving no room for future chapter perks and licensing issues with each licenses character having their contracts redone.

It is good that Survivors are only Cosmetics and it should stay that way. Giving Survivors unique properties is something which could have worked at the beginning of the game, but it is far too late now. And I would also guess that not doing that was also something which helped the game massively.
And as already said, it will just create a Meta. So instead of playing the character you like the most, feel connected to the most or just has the coolest cosmetics for you, you would rather pick a character with a good ability. And this is just wrong IMO. What if someone was an Ace-Main for the whole time and then Ace gets one of the worst abilities? This would mean that this person would either have to accept that they play a weaker Survivor and be at a disadvantage or that they need to switch the Survivor.
And honestly, this would probably also lead to Lobbies featuring up to 4 times the same Survivor, which also looks really bad.

Would only serve to reduce survivor variety, I think.
Imagine if, say, something as good as Decisive Strike came out on a future survivor - you'd never see anyone else.

Definetly no, I never want see survivor meta.
It's bad enough there are differences in height and sound volume. Giving survivors "powers" would make this so much worse.
It's good survivors are just cosmetics, you can play whoever you want based on lore/visual.

that would just create a character meta and you would obly see specific survivors running neta oerks

I mean I'd love more meaningful standard perks that suit characters more, like Ada's suck for stealth such as low profile, it's not like her at all.
Or how Eleven doesn't even have something like a force pushback (not super far) as an exhaustion or something.
I'd love more fun chapters like Nicolas', dramaturgy scene partner and plot twist were such fun perks and you could tell the devs had fun making them too.
More of that please0 -
I have had this exact thought before!
I would love to try this in a game mode. Like what if all their original perks could become one of their 5th perk, but reduced, not as strong as the perk itself.
Like adrenaline. It gets you up from the ground, but it leaves you in mending status effect. Being just injured, just a small speedboost.
Dwight's bond could only work if he work on a gen with another survivor. Or heal them to see survivors aura within 15m
Selfcare, we do not need a random teammate spend a half hour in the corner to heal.. Ha ha
But you see my point?
But I do agree with the others that survivors is just a cosmetic. Even tho I would love to play as the trapper with spirits powers. That would be weird to see
