Yeah it can spike but if it constantly stays like that it usually hints to something off.

We all know that some players deliberately use a VPN or try to have high ping to gain an advantage in-game.

Killers who play their entire match at over 150ms ping, making it impossible to loop properly because they land hits that shouldn’t connect—yeah yeah, come on, stop treating us like fools.

Even before I had fiber, I never went above around 40 ms.

If people aren’t able to play properly, why should it penalize everyone else?

There's an entire continent with no dedicated server. Even highly populated regions don't have servers - Middle Eastern players have been rightfully begging for a dedicated server for a good long whiile now, for example.

The fix needs to be to make ping less impactful on gameplay where possible, not relegating ppl in Africa or the Middle East or anywhere far from their dedicated server to a second queue, additionally worsening queue times for all players, good ping or no.

This. At this point if killer has over 300 ping I tell everyone in EGC to report for lag switching. there is no reasonable reason why you have ping over 300. Would be diffrent if they just gave up like "sorry i have bad ping" but every killer I've had that's had absurdly high ping (not related to servers) is playing like a sweat lord.

When reading your comments, I think you dont understand what Wifi means and how it shows in the Ping. Wifi means that the connection is not wired and this can result in unstable Ping. E.g. the Ping can spike. So the person can have 25 Ping, but it might not be consistent.

However, this does not even mean that every inconsistent ping is due to Wifi. Wired internet can have the same issues, it is just more reliable in total.

High Ping however is the distance from yourself to the Server. And this can never be capped at 50ms, simply because we dont have enough Servers close to the players, since there are some regions which dont have a Dedicated Server at all. Those people have to connect to the closest Server, which might result in high Ping.

Having those all grouped together will also not really help. Since it is not only your ping to the Server which is relevant, but also the ping from the other side to the Server. E.g. if a Survivor has 20 Ping, but a Killer has 120 Ping, the total difference is 140 ms. This sucks, but this cannot be avoided. However, if you would group all players with high Ping together, you would have people with high Ping playing against each other all the time. So a Survivor then has 120 Ping to the Server, the Killer has 120 Ping as well, so their total difference is 240 ms. And at this point it becomes unplayable. Which is a downgrade to the current system.

Furthermore, people with 400+ Ping you are posting are most likely using VPNs to connect to far away Servers to gain an advantage. And I agree that this needs to stop. But this has nothing to do with Wifi or wired connection at all.

Lmfao, I am a console player that is on wifi and I get below 60 ping the majority of the time.

Edit: Also, turn off crossplay. I don't know what to tell you tbh, I get tired of going against Steam and Epic players using hacks that are inexpensive but I don't come on here vilifying a whole platform. 😌

Sadly CrossPlay on or off makes no difference when it comes to cheaters, as they can inject themselves into any lobby regardless.

I think you first need to learn what ping is before you start complaining about the ping level of other players.
