Maybe devs should consider something....
I think we should be able to see what killer we may be facing in killer lobby before entering a match. There's alot of people with phobias, like vomiting, doctors causing seizures to some, clown, dredge nightfall, etc. I don't know if they will ever put a option to turn certain stuff off in the menu setting but if not, I really do think seeing the killer name (example, the spirit right beside the bottom of the screen near the ready up) we are facing before loading into the screen. I mean it's really no difference than when a person first goes against a killer their first three times, it tells you automatically who you will be facing anyways. And I am aware some people may lobby dodge if they see a certain killer they don't wanna face but I feel like that should be our choice anyways, especially if we bought the game, put money into the game. Killers can lobby dodge if they go in and see flashlights or toolboxes or a row full of certain characters (example, Nancy's or Nea's, Steve's.) There’s other people that can load into those spots that doesn't have a problem going against that killer. An as for element of surprise because its a horror game, dbd lost that element long time ago. Its not even scary anymore, not even going against stealth killers because killers are typically predictable, even against a scratch mirror myers. I haven't got scared since they brought lights out mode. Now that was scary.

Features that cause more dodging is something that should not be going towards. People dodge way too much already for most petty reasons.

I don't want to sound mean but unfortunately if you have phobias of common horror themes you shouldn't be playing dbd. In regards to this feature all it would support is lobby shopping which was problematic when people could see prestige levels let alone when they see "the blight" in the lobby

This was something that was kind of in the game at the start, you could see the profile of the killer and from that deduce what killer you were playing against. It is not something we will go back to for a multitude of reasons but one in particular - is that Survivors can quite easily change their build to counter the killer ie put on Calm Spirit when facing a Doctor. Its definitely not what we intend for the game.

First of all, Dead by Daylight is first and foremost presented as a horror game. If certain people have phobias, sensitivity to bright or flashing lights, or are prone to seizures due to flashing lights, then this is not the game for them. Most games aren't in that regard.
Also, stealth killers need anonymity at the beginning of the game because it can lead to a crucial early down, one of the few advantages they need to be viable at all. Especially in higher mmr games. Its not always about horror. Killers need that advantage even if its only 20 seconds which may determine if the killer will do well or not.
On that note, however, your anecdotal experience of not being scared does not mirror everyone else. Plenty people still get genuinely scared or jump every once and while. Some don't, but thats with any horror game regardless of how good is it. There are plenty people who think PT, Visage, Mortuary Assistant, Silent Hill or even Outlast are not scary at all. Its subjective.

So why is it now that killers can browse survivor profiles and dodge if they don't like what they see? Seeing the survivor avatars in the lobby is one thing, but I don't understand why you can see each other's profile info.

It doesn't matter in solo queue. If they face a killer they don't like (Ghoul) they point blank refuse to play. Which I appreciate, cause who can be arsed with that.. Twins is another one.

That has always been intended, that the killer can see what survivors they face and adjust their loadout based on what they're seeing - flashlights, toolboxes etc. Its part of being the more powerful role.

This content has been removed.

Completely not the question that was asked.
But we know the answer. Lobby shopping is just an out of match extra advantage for one side, but completely unhealthy for the game and unfair for the other side. It's far better to continue with the go next system. That's working out great.

The profile does not fit any of your description. Gameplay-wise there is 0 reason why the Killer should see the profile of the Survivors. And because of that, Killers are lobbyshopping until they find people with less enough hours.

It might not be possible to do anything about that outside of hiding it a bit better. I believe steam will show you who you are in a lobby with even if the devs turned the feature off in the game itself to like, click names and view a profile. And you already can't see profiles for people on other platforms anyway.
The tools already exist as a player to do this, you can limit viewing of your profile to remove things like hours, or even make the entire profile private.

So will options to help people with phobias be added into the menu's accessibility then? Flashlight brightness and some other stuff to do with flashing was changed because of people who deal with seizures and people I know who have that issue still struggle with it, whenever facing doctor. Older games remastered and newer games have adjusted to add things in their accessibility for people who have phobias or issues that could trigger a seizure, I don't see how it would be a problem for behavior to add those options into dead by daylight.

How do you profile a Survivor? Their just skins basically I can understand not wanting to face a 4 squad of the same item but it's not exactly game breaking to see those as a killer if it was like you could see their perks then I'd think it was busted

No no no this has been discussed before and if you could see the Killer it would become Lobby window shopping simulator I'm not ashamed to admit if this existed I will be dodging every Nurse Blight and Ghoul I see.
That's why this cannot be a thing people already give up as soon as you hear the Terror radius of the Killer

Seeing the lobby is fine, I guess, but I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the ability to shop personal profiles and dodge if you don't like their hours, which killers can do for survivors but survivors can't do for killer.

Profiles, like Steam profiles. Not in-game avatars.

While I get the sensitivity/seizure risk and wanting to mitigate that, it still feels unfair to demand the devs to cater towards people's phobias. This is a horror game and there is a phobia for literally everything. There was a similar discussion when Wesker was released due to his power and how it looked on infected survivors.
Clown is a good example of a really common phobia, but he's in the game nonetheless. Limiting and censoring phobias is in itself limiting the game and what the devs can do. Its a horror game and these things should be expected when someone decides to play. Not curving what they don't like.
