ETA on new Anti-Cheat measures ~
We need an ETA, guys. The cheaters are running rampant. Ever since Self-Preservation got "reworked", I've been using this perk, and 5 out of 10 matches, Killers "magically" find me in the most unsuspected places ever, after hooking a survivor, after kicking a gen, while my perk is still active and hiding my aura, grunts of pain, marks and blood stains. Even when there's just me and another survivor alive, and he is hooked and I am hiding in a locker in - again - another non-intuitive place, the Killer "magically" finds me (with no crows on top of my locker or my head).
I don't know if they're doing this because they're tired of failing to kill 4 survivors every match, but they're running rampant.
WE NEED AN ETA, PLEASE. WE DESERVE THIS AND IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME.
THANK YOU.

All Im gonna say is some times you arent as sneaky as you think, and killers have different ways of finding you other than aura reading. Scratch marks are an obvious one, killer instinct and crows are another, and good game sense is something that no stealth perk can help you against.

We have a SkyNet killer epidemic going on for weeks on NA servers.
5 -
They're really busy on EU servers. I run in to them every single time I play. Not a single word from Behaviour, but they're busy laying off more employees, so I'm guessing 2030..

I know. I have around 3k hours on Steam. I've read every perk, have played with every killer, I know my way around the game, trust me.
Before I start pointing fingers, I usually wait for the post-match screen, check the Killer perks, double check its addons…
I really do know when I'm up against a cheater specifically due to how they behave in game. And they're usually from Epic Games. Not every Epic player, but always an Epic player.

Oh, god… I don't know… sometimes I have a strong feeling that Behavior is definitely trying to kill Dead by Daylight at any cost… You know that BS that companies spread saying that "a game has a lifespam, usually 5 years, or a bit more". Hell yeah. Tell that to famous mobas we all know about, famous fps, a 3rd person shooter very popular among kids for ages, etc.
So many layoffs, indie companies bought… it sounds unpredictably weird, with so much stuff going on… kinda like Daniel Radcliffe is so fed up with a famous character he portrayed and do not wish to have his name "forever entwined" with that character, you know?
The irony is that, aside from Frank Stone, all other games flopped. I really have no idea what's going on and I feel dismayed, frustrated, as a client.0 -
Unless haunted grounds suddenly shows aura, please explain how the spirit knew to phase across the map, right to my locker - which I had quietly entered. Spoiler alert, they had no aura perks equipped.
Cheating is out of control.
3 -
That is a question that is quite literally impossible to answer without actually seeing the game. No idea what youre trying to get at here
4 -
Game starts, before I even get to a generator - haunted grounds has been cleansed. Cleanser was downed... I decide to get into locker because A) haunted grounds makes us all one shot, and B) potential aura perk to get use of haunted ground. I walk to the locker and get in the locker before hook. Hook and spirit phases - player 2 down. Spirit phases - player 3 down. Spirit phases - I'm pulled from a locker.
And yes I waited until the end game to report and check perks. Hex build, no aura reading. Guess their game sense is better.

I have had matches where someone called me a cheater because I pulled them out of a locker that I followed their scratchmarks to and the kicker was their friend was streamer and they both were claiming I was cheating when there was nothing suspicious of what I did. Just the lack in their own knowledge of the information I had.

you're not the only one, I got called a cheater and I was using Eruption, people often forget that Aura's are part of that perk, same as Undying.
5 -
Oh that is nothing its interesting when they claim you are cheater when using Mad Grit. Its fun to walk around hitting M1 as Nemesis with it.

or with Spirit!

2030 ?
that's being generous . Try giving them till our next lifetime0 -
While I agree with that however the number of Blatant and subtle cheaters I've encountered and other people and CCs have also encountered has definitely increased and become more common to see

At any given time, there are multiple terminator bots running. I don’t even get the point other than trying to ruin the game because it’s not even a human playing.
1 -
i'll give them till the heat death of the universe for how long it will take for them to get rid of the cheaters.

This still doesnt give the full picture since theres no way of knowing without actually seeing the game it self. Just to give a possible scenario of what could of happened, assuming the game went EXACTLY as you described with you staying in the locker the entire time, and that you didnt accumulate accumulate AFK crows.
Survivors all spawn together, meaning if the totem was cleansed right from the get go the Spirit not only knows where at least one person is, but they also now have a general idea where everybody is. After the hook they spot the 2nd player but in that time they could of went by a gen or 2 and heard that none of them have been worked on, but maybe in the distance they see a crow fly off in the distance. They finish up with jimbo 3 and now that leaves you. By process of elimination they see you didnt go for any saves meaning the chances of you being around that area are low, the gens they passed by earlier havent been worked on meaning you arent there either, they dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed or any gens that have popped during the entire time theyve been dealing with the rest of the team. So they go back to the only place they know you were last, which is back where everyone spawned. They dont see any scratchmarks, crows being disturbed, maybe a gen is there as well that hasnt been touched, and none of the other teammates have been saved. So they just so happen to check a locker and would you look at that, jimbo 4 just so happens to be there.
Is this how the game went? No, but it just proves how we cant just jump the gun and immediately go "oh yeah they were cheating" with the bare minimum you are providing us (which is all you can really give since not only did you probably not record the game, but also you dont have the Spirits perspective)

They definitely do exist, but there are definitely people out there who are very quick to point fingers and its quite easy how to tell which is which

I understand that you're trying to give other reasonable alternatives, but the amount of "if if if if if if if if if if if" you're willing to do to justify an extremely unlikely scenario is actually kind of hilarious. Besides, don't all the killer main content creators cry wolf about a "subtle cheating epidemic?" Cheaters are literally everywhere. At this point, it IS the most logical solution.
-1 -
If assumptions were enough reason to get banned then half the playerbase would be gone.
The point of my post is to show just how little we have to off of. Of course its inaccurate, but there are literally thousands of different scenarios with what we have to work with.
1 -
this sounds oddly familiar to a game i played yesterday ttm who was the killer
0 -
When did I say assumptions are enough of a reason to get banned? Stop putting words in my mouth. I'm saying it's within the realm of possibility that they could have been cheating, whereas you were willing to jump through a million hoops of almost borderline impossibility before saying that cheating might be the reason, despite cheating being a rampant problem.

I am 100% serious, I JUST played a game against an openly cheating Myers advertising his youtube cheats channel. Just in case you think cheating isn't a problem.
-1 -
Never once did I say cheating isnt a problem, but people are using it as an excuse to immediately point fingers the moment something doesnt go their way. In the case of this Spirit, they are providing us with such little information that quite literally any assumptions made about them (including cheating) can be called absurd

The past few months I seem to get at least one cheater a week. I"m not talking about "hmmm it seemed like they cheated". I"m talking about survivors picking themselves up right away over and over. Going from injured to healthy in one second. Doing inf. pallet stun on me where I'm stuck getting stunned over and over and over again on the same pallet. Or being in a survivor match where I see one of my teammates barely touch a gen for two seconds and it gets completed. Every week. I mean I see less of it now because I have played a lot less lately because of cheaters.
Last couple of years it would be one cheater every couple of months. Late 2010s to about 2022, it was super rare. Maybe one or two cheaters a match that whole time. It keeps getting worse and worse and I don't know what BHVR plans on doing about it. I have reported in game and then sent in my recording of it happening to support and I haven't gotten a single in game notification pop up saying my report was reviewed and action was taken.
Are there just too many cheaters and not enough people at BHVR support or is it a losing battle because people just get a new account to cheat with. The anti-cheat really needs an overhaul. I'm not a programmer but there has to be a way that the game can tell someone is using a cheat.0 -
And I'M saying you are creating a top 0.00000000000000000000000001% scenario to which no killer in the moment would think about. It can't be disproven, but it is so borderline impossible for that to happen following your line of thinking, it's meaningless. In this case it is more likely that the spirit is cheating than doing some 100D chess move in an average dbd lobby.

What I described isnt even that complex though???? When writing down your own line of though it looks like a lot more than what it actually is since youre subconsciously doing it.

I know it's hard to believe, but subtle cheaters are rampant. Trust me. I'm not a good looper, so I prefer to use stealthy builds and do my work "behind the scenes". Picture the following scenario…
The map is Ormond Lake Mine. I was using:
- Distortion
- Self-preservation
- Kindred
- We'll make it
- Shroud of Separation
The Killer is a Chucky. Using the numpad as a reference, if Shack is 7 and main building is 2, I spawned at 1. Someone spawned a little further, at 4, and I see Nea in 3. Don't know where the 4th survivor is. No distortion token was consumed. I start running to 4, and Nea gets on a chase. She is downed near the main building generator (which was not being repaired). Chucky then grabs her and hooks her on a hook on 6. My Self-preservation activates. I run towards the back of the main building while seeing Chucky going to the front of the building (thanks to Kindred). I'm about to go to the rescue, behind the main building, when I hear giggles. Right now, there are 2 plausible explanations:
- He is cheating
- He simply tried his luck and found me
I stop. I hear the scream, and here he comes, straight to me. I try to 180º but he gets me. I point a finger at him and start running. I am wounded and self-preservation is still on. He realizes I leave no scratch marks, no blood pools, no grunts of pain, nada. He then disconnects.
I've come to the conclusion that, one out of two:
- He legit d/c due to technical problems
- He realizes I was using Self-preservation and knew winds weren't blowing in his favor
It could be 1… but most likely, it could be 2. Me using emote 1 at his face probably made him think ''oh #########, he knows''. What is the probability of, after hooking Nea, he decides to "circle the main building" hoping to find someone, if he did not have Lethal Pursuer (cause my Distortion token wasn't consumed at the start), nor did he kick a gen (and even if he did, I had Self-Preservation on)? Ok, one could assume he was going to check the gen that always spawn at 1, but if I were him, I'd look that gen had no progress and run straight to shack, cause if the chase happened too early, means he and Nea spawned ''near'' each other. The gen on 3 wasn't being repaired, the gen on 1 and on 2 were also not being repaired. It's really, really SUS. His build did have "Nowhere to Hide", but even if he could've used it, he shouldn't have been able to find me. And the d/c after?
The other day was against a Kaneki. He always knew where all of us were. I decided to put him to a test. The map was Dead Dawg Saloon, only Alan and I remained alive. Alan was hooked. My self-preservation activates. I decide to hide in a locker in the main building, the most unsuspected one, but before that, I had to make sure he "saw me" through walls. So he hooks Alan, I wait in front of the locker with self-preservation on and Kindred, and he instantly leaps toward the main building as I enter the locker. He goes straight to my locker and grabs me.
The thing with subtle cheaters is that there is always room for "what if". "What if he's just smart?" Out of dozens of lockers, he comes straight to the one I picked? What are the odds? 0,010%? Easier to win on lottery.
Trust me. They are more than we can imagine and that is due to our anti-cheat tool being BAD AS SH1T.

I get called a cheater a lot just for using spies lol
