Stop with the 2v8 nonsense
This mode is only popular for ultra casual players and hurts the game in many ways :
- awful killers' queue time in 1v4 (and 2v8)
- awful matchmaking for 3 weeks in 1v4
It makes the game unplayable on the killer side, it is not acceptable in 2026 to have to deal with 10+ minutes queue times the whole day.
Why do you keep bringing this mode while half the playerbase is complaining about it ?

Sorry. Most people have friends, unlike you apparently. The mode is a great way to have fun with friends, or to grind out BP in survivor mode. Also, queues arent 10+ minutes for killer in 1v4. Longest ive had the past week is 4 minutes. This is an ultra loner take.
Also, the only complaints i see about this event is how survivor/killer sided it is. The average DBD complaints lmao. I don't see anyone mad at it's existance.

Last i remember, surveys usually reveal that a majority of players want 2v8.
but lets say it is half of the players: why would they completely stop 2v8 when its only a temporary mode to accomodate the other half of the Community?
and is matchmaking working for you outside of 2v8? Do you actually get matched with players on your skill level??5 -

I'm sorry but the people who are playing 2v8 are mostly people who wouldn't even touch 1v4 in the first place. Sure there are some, but for the most part why would "Ultra Casual players" queue for 1v4?

Look at the time you posted your comment lol 5am.... No wonder your queue time is long.... I was playing until 4 and my queue times were only 3 minutes.

Just to point out this. You do realize people play in different servers than you so their peak hours can be totally different from yours. Time zones exists you know

Obviously but a vast majority of players are in the us. Odds are this person speaking English is in north America lmao. Even if not, when the servers slow down they get supplemented with players in other regions...... thats why you csn have 10 games of normal 30-60 ping and suddenly have a game where everyone but 1 players is close to 200....

Steam charts paint a quite opposite picture as peak hours are between 6pm and 10pm of my time and as its now little over 9pm here that makes US time zones its around 10am to 2pm so are you claiming people in america mainly at morning or early day? I would imagine even in america the peak hours are around the same 6-10pm. So Steam charts seems to indicate most players of this game are europeans.
You also think people speaking english means they are from north america sorry but english is quite universal language used to communicate over the internet. Most people are not from north america who write english on the internet or would you prefer I wrote to you in my language that you would not understand?

You want to base it on steam charts, yet steam charts literally prove my point. Looking at the time of 4-5 NA east the player count on DBD gets cut in half to even below half. Thats not a regional thing, that's all of steam and that's a pretty good reflection as to how the games player count is. Again, a majority of players are in NA, and when its 4-5am est 1-2am pst the player counts are significantly impacted. Proving my initial point.....

Like sorry but I don't know how you are reading the steam charts when that is literally the lowest point on the chart and noway indicates that there is more americans playing even before that as it usually at that point it has been falling for about 12 hours from the peak hours I was talking about. Still the point why its the lowest player amount is the fact that there is a huge ocean between america and europe so there is no players in those times zones. When you guys have 4am there its only 8am in western edge of europe and here on the eastern side its not even noon yet. Are you seriously expecting there to be some players at that time? Still after it goes around 5am of your time oddly the player amounts rise to the peak inside six hours. That is when the europeans start playing not americans.

The steam charts show everyone lmfao. Yes the time for me may be different elsewhere but it doesn't change the amount of players on at that time. What point are you even trying to make at this point lmfao. Again, my point is queue times are going to higher at 5am est for everyone globally, which the steam charts validates what are you even on about

I explained to you why there is more european players even by the charts showing it.
Also queue times depend of the distribution of the player base between the roles not just about how many people are playing the game. You see this quite easily in 2v8 as even in peak hours you have to wait about 30 minutes to play killer.

Evertime there is a 2v8 event, the steamchart clearly shows a huge decrease in the number of players (go check). A game mode that hurt queue times so much for one part of the playerbase is not healthy.
Outside of 2v8 the MM is way better yes.0 -
The majority of players are in Europe… Biggest streamers = Europe… Peak time = end of the day in EU

i could not see a huge decline that wasnt there at same times before 2v8 (there is always trend with player count going down in between chapters/new content)
Though i haven’t checked every iteration of 2v8 as i couldnt find a Site that listed the dates

There is no real drop there is just the normal fluctuation that you can see with this game. With the currently going one it clearly brought more players in as before the event started the 27th day the peak was little bit under 60000 players and the highest peak during the event is 83000 players. The lowest peak during the event has been about 64000. So even the lowest peak beats the peak of the day before 2v8 started. That 83000 peak is also the highest player count in the game in last 30 days.

The drop is clear and in-between there is an increase of the playerbase. And no, with the current 2v8 the decrease is even worst than before.

I don't have friends that play dbd either that does not mean I don't have friends at all and I never bothered to find friends that play dvd since I exclusively play killer so having dbd friends was never something worth to put time into

and now the examples with the stated ‘huge’ declines?
All those have some Peak before going down probably related to new chapter/content release and looking at the overall line its not really a huge drop in player Count
And it is in line with previous years, from November to beginning of January there has always been decline same with the time after anniversary event
I would also expect an immediate Spike after 2v8 from all the returning players that just stopped bc of 2v8?

Except some people complaining about the queue times there's almost no one complaining about it, what do you mean? Sure some about the catch up mechanic or escapist, maybe about some bugs or killer combinations, but there not really complaining about this mode itself - it's pretty fun, so I don't see a reason for that ether.
The only thing you could say that they bring it up too often but honestly: I'd rather have 2vs8 every time than lights out ever again. This mode is just horrible.

I wouldn't mind Lights out if it was more of a killer without power versus survivors without powers/perks sort of situation.
Or at least limit the killers available, coz Legion was the only killer I was like ew when it came to the mode.0 -
I just find it horrible because the darkness combined with this foggy look just hurts my eyes. Besides that I feel like theres not much more unfun than not being able to see xD

The matchmaking is not awful when 2v8 is active. It's what the game's matchmaking would be if it were functional. It's wonderful queuing as survivor and actually getting teammates who know what to do. I do agree that 2v8 sucks though. Although for very different reasons. The average survivor player in the mode gets worse with each iteration and I literally cannot bring myself to deal with it anymore.
