"Special Scream"
When Jason manifests he causes survivors to emit a special scream that by passes calm spirit and does not interrupt actions.
I think it's nonsense to have perks that specifically counter screams and have one exception that bypasses them. It's inconsistent and confusing game design. Especially considering that the scream suppressing perks are mediocre to bad at best.
The suggestion is to just let these perks counter this aspect of Jason's power. It's not like he doesn't have other stuff going for him

Light footed also doesn't hide the footsteps like it does for xenomorph

Report them as bugs if you feel they are ones. Let the devs decide if they are.

It's not a bug. This is feedback about the mechanic and how it interacts with a suite of niche and poorly performing perks.
1 -
It is a bug if you have perk that prevents screaming and you still scream. Whats the point to have perk that works sometimes.

I was just testing this and Calm Spirit works totally fine to mute the scream of the survivor. It will still show the killer instinct as that is part of his power too and is not effected by survivor screaming. So OP is wrong survivors don't scream if they have Calm Spirit equipt so its working as you would imagine. So don't know what he is on about here.

Why would you lie about this? What a strange hill to die on.

Yeah and I am telling you I tested in the game and they don't scream. The person in question is mixing up screaming and the killer instinct he gets or is just totally wrong how his power works. So either the dev stating that is totally wrong or its not currently working in the game like he states.
I know I am right of how it works because I myself tested it in the game. So I am telling you Calm Spirit blocks the screams of survivors when using Jason's power. Go test it yourself in a custom match if you don't believe me.

That is fine, since it specifically suppresses footstep SOUNDS.
If it does suppress Xeno footsteps, that should not happen.

I agree, Jason should not get to counter a whole slew of (frankly, already useless) perks.
I love that he's here, but he should not get any special privileges just because.
Doctor is built around screaming happening often, and yet Calm Spirit denies him that.
For Jason, causing people to scream is a detail of his power. As such, it should not counter perks at all.

It does not counter perks. Some "dev" is stating totally wrong information and people are running with it. In game itself any perk that hides your screams works against Jason's Jump Scare by muting the scream but killer will still get the killer instinct so he will still know where you are.

I had two responses from the devs on Reddit about the issue. He's supposed to bypass screaming suppression perks. If you choose to not believe the account called "dead by daylight Dev" then more power to you.

Then they need to fix it as its not working like that. I don't have to chose anything I go by how it currently works in the game. It does not matter what someone states when their statement is not correct. I go by facts and the fact currently is that how I say it works is how it currently works and you can go test it yourself in the game right now.

You realize you can just crouch walk to avoid it entirely right?

This is about the screaming that happens after he exits the mode
1 -
If that is the case, and perks DO suppress it, then good! No problem then.
1 -
Yes I know. Crouching blocks the scream as well.

Yes they do as I have been saying the whole time. Killer still gets the killer instinct so you can't hide as he will know where you are if you are not crouching. Crouching does counter his power totally anyway.

Maybe it doesn't then and I assumed, I'm ngl it's more just coz it released with Xeno

I don't see a problem with this, as (above mentioned) crouching prevents it.
Killer A makes you Scream → You run anti scream perks.
Killer B makes you Scream Past Anti-Scream Perks → You crouch.
There's counter play, so it's fine. We see this kind of design philosophy all over the game. Perk cancelling is common. I can run nurses calling, Deerstalker, Lethal Pursuer, and Murmur and you can counter-act every one of my perks with a single elusive instance. Perks counting perks is common, and kit counting perks is common. This is a nothing burger.
Granted I agree that it's stupid that perks can be cancelled, but this isn't the first or even the first dozenth example of that. If we have a problem with perks being overwritten, then there's an entire laundry list of nonsense that needs to be fixed on both sides such as Elusive shouldn't exist.-3
