How's Jason
How is Jason for everyone? Do you think he's fun and strong?

I think he's strong. I think omni-present evil encourages tunneling. For real, Jason's power is really good for tunneling. The "punishment" for vaulting (or teleporting) in anti-camp range is worth eating if you really wanna tunnel.

He’s okay, just wish he didn’t feel so slow and sluggish. Especially coming out of his power. But overall he’s definitely a learning curve for sure.
Edit: I play on PlayStation which one of the main console players. And for me personally some killers like Jason. Can be sometimes a little hard to control. At least from my personal experience. I know everyone has different opinions and experiences. But I still think he’s super sticky to control.

Boring to play against.

Hes really fun. Its just hard to aim his spears. They need to adjust where he reads it so its like ur aims with Deathslinger.
Other than that I see no issues

I think its map dependent. some maps just have like one loop near the gen, if Jason spawns at it you kind of have no where to go and you get hit does feel kind of boring (unless there is another tell rather then him spawning in) vs some maps that have two loop options near the gen so if Jason spawns at one just run to the other.

He's Meh. Spear is pointless, pins are inconsistent at best and when they do land it's on injured folks, which is pointless flavoring. So playing for pins is bleh. Omnipresent evil is the only staple holding him together with his current kit, but I foresee that being nerfed into the ground as a great deal of folks seem to despise it.
His spears wouldn't be so awful if you could twitch aim them, but you can't aim for the last bit of his animation, making his spears easier to dodge and harder to aim. As a huntress player it's really punishing me for developing the skillset.
I do like making survivor wall art tho.
His perks are, yeah, absolutely worthless but his kit is good enough to be a B tier.7 -
I agree his spear throw is inconsistent. One throw its Going straight and another it goes to the fare Left. I want a way to see where the spears going to properly learn how to use it
If you want pins Use the Coroners Coffee Addon. It increases the distance when a survivors hit by 25% and gives 8% haste when hit. It will give you more room for pin plays

Haven't lost on Jason yet, his teleport essentially allows you to have indirect map wide pressure since people will get off of gens triggering perks like ruin or dms. People say the teleport is super slow and clunky but I honestly don't see it he feels fast paced and rewarding.
His javelin is really strong once you get good at it, its SUPER easy to two tap survivors. He is essentially long range Deathslinger which makes him feel super rewarding when you thread the needle. Along with the fact that you can tunnel super easily by shooting the unhooked then reloading and getting your mori off.
For everything else he is pretty great on every map, his add-ons are great, and his only good perk is Silent Shadow but its useless on him soo.. All in all I think that he is still most definitely A tier even after the nerfs, and feels high skill and rewarding.

Got his adept first try. But the killer ques are long enough that ill stick to survivor for now. Just wanted to get the adept out of the way before it gets harder. I noticed sometimes when you pop out near people they barely have enough reaction or time to get to something before getting hit unlike sadako or xeno. Also noticed the point of the projectile while aiming is like an iron sight to where it will fly.
Currently on survivor however ive seen players camping like huntress with a hatchet at a distance etc. So nothing new there.

I swear the fog gets thicker when he is nearby but that could just be happenstance or some sort of confirmation bias on my part. Like spirit you can also see grass move but that is map dependent.
1 -
I agree 100%
4 -
I think it gets thicker when you crouch, that's what I noticed at least
2 -
Yeah I thought it got thicker when you crouched too. Only tell I can find is when hes spawning in. (oooh grass missed that tell but yeah map dependent sadly)
3 -
IIts either when you crouch or he gets closer idk
1 -
Fun killer facing and as. My only gripe is his perks being terrible.
0 -
I mean yeah he really doesn't bring anything new to the table but he's okay
2 -
He feels like playing against hag, games take so long when you have to crouch and not do anything to avoid tipping him off.
10 -
I keep getting solo queue teammates that crouch all game and because I'm the only one to run around and do stuff I'm getting repeatedly tunneled and morid🙃
I'm literally just doing some sabotage builds just to get my own back🤣
5 -
Almost perfect, I think they just need to remove his haste. He has so much in his kit already that he's only fair when he's a 110 movementspeed killer and he almost never is.
2 -
Had a few matches against him yesterday. Lost every single one. Haven't played as him in a public match. Did pretty terrible on custom as I'm bad with ranged killers
1 -
He's a bad design imo Jack of all trades master of nothing. He's bloated from top to bottom. Insane map presence like Henry. Block on all escape routes when he spawns in so just better single gary. Forces survivors to scream when he spawns so free infectious fright. Better weapon than Huntress with hitbox so large he might as well be throwing logs and can grab hooks. We're leaving killers that could of used these elements to help them in the new chase era further in the dumps for a license that can go at a drop of a hat. Like just because he's not Ghoul take 2 doesn't mean his design isn't horrible for the overall health of the game. I dread how bloated Art is gonna be.
3 -
Another pay to win killer, I'd rather play against Ghoul.
-8 -
- Remove haste
- Add directional cue on his teleport
-2 -
He is fun. He needs maybe some tweaks and most of bugs fixed that he has.
3 -
Feels miserable if you miss a throw, just slug
-4 -
Same as on PTB. Fun to play as and against A tier killer.
2 -
Would like to try him more. Sadly the queues make me dont want to play.

Very strong. I thought replenishing spears would be a problem, but it's actually easy
2 -
I love playing against him, I really don't like how much buffs/debuffs he has baked into for teleporting… feels overkill:
-Haste
-Exhaustion with addon
-Reload
-Scream
-Movement Tracking
-Killer Instinct
-Gen damage
-Pallet Break/wall break/Window block/Pallet deny
-Scream suppression immunity
-can track "footsteps" in locker
kind of feels like how Skully used to where she applied every debuff while gaining haste for little effort.
Otherwise chase against him feels fun when he isn't the Malboro using bad breath.7 -
I really enjoy his game play loop. He's like the best bits of Wraith and Huntress mashed together but with none of their drawbacks. I miss most of my shots with the spike, but I think ranged specialists will really be able to go to town with him. He is the best ranged Killer by far, imo.
I think he's maybe not very well balanced for average Survivors right now because as I said, he has no down sides to his powers, but since a lot of players are on console and playing with controller, that will probably keep his Kill rate a bit lower than it might otherwise be.
Still, it's so much fun to chuck bits of the map at Survivors and I think they've really done the character justice.

Well he has downsides like slowdown when aiming the spike and slowdown again if you cancel the throw. He does also have the anti-camp that causes him to appear slower if he comes out of his power near a hooked survivor.
0 -
They're drawback on paper, but I think they don't really feel like downsides when you're playing him. They feel so minor to me that I barely notice them.
Like with huntress, if you miss all your shots you have to waste time trundling over to the nearest locker to reload. Jason can just quickly grab the nearest spike from a hook. The only way to gain haste is through add-ons and even then, there might be a trade off involved to get any value (like with Soldier's Puttee). Jason gets a generous haste boost base-kit.
Wraith is usually very loud when cloaked, has to alert Survivors whenever he's cloaking/uncloaking and can also be pretty easy to spot with the shimmering effect his cloak gives off. Jason doesn't have to deal with any of that.

He's def gonna be a contender for 3 gen hold outs and it's not good like no one liked it with her once oo shiny wears off he's gonna be hated for it too.
3 -
I feel like the 3 gen excuses is in this day and age a non excuse after the gen kick limit change. 3 gening is a lot of the time the survivors fault.
My main problem is how strong his exit gate patrol is. I think he should have a max time he can stay in his power and thats it no other changes.
1 -
He doesn't get reload, movement tracking and killer instinct are removed on crouch walking, and gen damage is another addon, pallet and window deny is only on the one he teleports to for a split second. This is making it "seem" more stacked than reality.
1 -
Being able to pressure gate on the opposite sides of the map is wild.
3 -
it reloads the hooks etc is what I'm saying sorry, and yeah I could have detailed the gen break is an addon
but the rest are still apart of it, just how it feels rn, not that I think he is broken0 -
Stocks in urban evasion have gone up since his release.
11 -
He's okay. I enjoy playing him, but missing a spear can sometimes feel quite bad. His cooldown between spear and M1 can also feel pretty terrible. His anticamp slowdown is cruel though and might need to be looked at. especially in 2 story maps. You get anticamp even if you are below/top of the hook. In end game it shouldnt even happen anymore.
He's strong but not Op. Fun to play. I enjoy playing characters with speed.
3 -
My only issue with him is that he can patrol exit gates too easily. If there is one person left, they are effectively guaranteed to lose if the hatch is closed and a key isnt available.
2 -
Overtuned killer with far too much in his kit, a near permanent haste effect that makes him a 4.6 killer which raises the question of why have him be 4.4 in the first place if he's just going to have baked in haste that completely negates that weakness, one of the strongest ranged attacks in the game, his map traversal is ridiculous and the amount of info he gets IN said map traversal is even more ridiculous.
You do gens? He can see that. You do totems? He can see that. You walk or run? He can see that.
He forces survivors to do the most boring counterplay possible which is stop what you're doing and crouch walk around like a chimpanzee.
He's boring to face and not at all engaging.
3 -
After playing against him, he's got far too much going for him. He's got great mobility, his spear is always available due to not only the high hook density but the scrap piles, the stealth aspect, and extreme amounts of free information as well is just crazy. I think at minimum the scrap piles need to be removed and have no haste.
3 -
Doing sabbo build and wondering you get tunneled, sabbo creates problem for killer and tunnel or slug are only dolutions for it but you are alone so tunneling works on you better its simple not to mention you are always near him with that sabbo.
-3 -
really fun if ur running Urban Evasion
1 -
There are many killers that can do that but higly depends on map because this effects gate spawn slso larry is in game some year or artist.
0 -
No I mean I was getting tunneled so I decided to go sabo build. Did have quite a lot of saves but people go down easily because they're still learning to play against the new killer
1 -
I think he's fun and well designed. Probably a great A-tier addition.

It’s the same predictable response that we’ve gotten with every recently-released killer. Lots of people complaining that he’s too strong because it’s only been 24 hours and they haven’t fully mastered counterplay yet. So, also predictably, he’ll get nerfed hard and never seen again like Krasue and Henry.
1 -
Another person that somehow believes Jason is this massively unique killer that has counterplay never before seen that will take days and weeks and months to master…
Stop it. He is not unique. We've played these games before… he's just overtuned.
The counterplay is boring snooze fest crouch walk around and immediately stop what you're doing when he goes ominpresent. It is not engaging. It is not fun.
-3 -
Very fun, not sure if he's strong-strong, but definitely on better half of the killer roster...
