Dead by Daylight monetization model is too expensive, unfair to new players, and locks the best lice

Change the base game to a Free-to-Play model or create an alternative system (like extreme in-game challenges) that allows players to unlock licensed characters (like Chucky, Michael Myers, and Ghost Face) using Iridescent Shards or pure gameplay effort.

I don’t think it’s possible for dbd to make it so that u can grind for the license killers for free since they need to pay the licensers back and if they can’t do that then no license.

I will say that the shrine exists but they need to fix it by not making it have the base game and the 4 cheap (1125 oro shard) characters perks

Honestly I agree, but there are 2 issues:

    1. Like @Cool8324 said, BHVR has to pay for the licenses which is why the licenses are paid for, so that's not going to change to being a free-to-unlock system, although it would be nice to either lower the price of some of the older killers or have sales more regularly.

    2. Being free to play is a great idea, until you realize that BHVR would actually need to implement a halfway decent anti-cheat, because the game is paid for and we still have a big problem with cheaters already (ironically it's worse because of the mass amount of accounts from when DBD was free on Epic).

Right now, BHVR is getting income from the price of the game, survivors and killers (at the VERY least the license ones, but the grind for iri shards is so slow that some people will pay for the free-to-unlock characters as well), cosmetics (same thing, at the VERY least the licensed cosmetics), and a battlepass on top of all of it. It honestly makes me confused how they aren't able to make bigger and more regular changes to the game when they have this many sources of income from millions of players and have hundreds of employees.
