Suggestions for perks : invocation

Hello,

Since their release, the Invocations suffer from a very strong downside, making them detrimental to use for most games.

First, the permanent broken status effect and then the fact that the killer is instantly warned when someone is downable fast in the basement, which is problematic against killers with teleport or fast map traversal.

My suggestion would be :

  • Broken status effect and HUD warning trigger 10 seconds after the end of the invocation.
  • Broken status effect lasts for 180 seconds (instead of for the rest of the trial).

IMO 180 seconds is enough for the killer to take advantage on survivor for using the perk without making the entire trial a "3 vs 1" match.

Not a bad way to solve the main pain points about invocations.
Personally I'd go with Exposed for the same duration.

It'd be a good start but still the two perks need massive buffs to be viable.

    Honestly, that's a good solution.

Even if the invocation (spiders) has no downside it would be still awfull perk. The only "okish" use of it is to isntarun into basement, uniterrupted, not spotted, killers having no blocking perks. By the time you get there and finish the invocation you would have gen done that will help team much more and set the pressure instead of a bit faster gens while leaving team in 3v1 scenario. If you are interupted you should not use the perk at all. If you are caught in basement, your team probably lost. It's effect is not worth the time investment while providing no feedback. If you want to chunk off gens you can run specialist or fast track that are also not very good perks but you get the value as the match goes on without "trolling".

Treacherous crows can work whole game without anything and still being trash perk. Alert, Fogwise etc. are not super popular perks despite their effect being stronger (surely solo player only) but getting yourself broken for entire game to see killers aura 2-3x per game and that's only if it's not stealth killer, stealth perks and so much more on that this perk is fundemantaly in urge of rework. I can see that it would work in the opposite way. Where if survivor scares crows anywhere on the map in TR, they gonna see killer's aura for 4s. While this might be good in chase, don't forget about killers aura and aura counterpick such as deerstalker. That's point where you can kill your entire team by running Eleven's We See You and give killer constant aura reveals on whole team.

Speaking of Fast Track, no one complains about it but BHVR wanted to modernize it and buffed the gain at the same time. They nerfed it to 3 % per hook which was the og no one complained about but somehow everyone complained about perk no one complained about for 4 years and they nerfed it to point where it's worse than the og effect. Same with self preservation, it had some use when someone nearby got injured any they reworked it into anti BBQ perk and nerfed it because it gives killer no aura. I don't understand why they keep doing this.

It's a 60 seconds interaction for 70 charges shed across gens. Not too horrible.

But I agree, the odds of getting interrupted are high during that time.

Maybe reducing the solo invocation time down to 40 seconds on top of adjusments above would do the thing.

Exposed instead of broken would give an advantage to survivor such as no grunts, no pools of blood and M2 killers couldn't get the one shot.

    I would stick with broken.

It sounds good on paper but in reality you utilize already 20 charges less so doing whole gen gives way more advantage than reducing charges. Sorry, invocations effect is just not good. I'm even argue that treacherous crows might be "better".
