Problem With Events: Removing Zones of Confrontation Enables Survs to Pressure Gens in Safety

The reason why the core gameplay loop of Dead by Daylight works is because Generators are a central meeting point for both teams that forces Survivors to gather around, which forces confrontation with Killers on their patrols. Now that Survivors are being moved off of these "crossroads", Killers are left totally unable to put track Survivors and keep pressure on them while they roam the map and are still able to make progress via Event Mechanics.

I've been deeply frustrated by all of the events this year as far as Killer gameplay goes in Haunted by Daylight, and I believe it comes down to event mechanics bringing Survivors off of gens and making them more difficult to find, while event mechanics have been making it specifically easier for Survivors to repair Gens without needing to be present.

As Killer, I feel like gens have been flying unless I take full slowdown loadouts, and the new stricter MMR isn't helping.

Survivor gameplay has been crazy and had a lot of care taken to crafting tons of mechanics, but the Killer experience keeps getting worse and worse, and this goes a bit beyond bland and harder to use Killer mechanics than Survivor mechanics.

A huge recurring pattern with recent events is giving Survivors secondary locations to go - especially Blood Moon and the new Haunted by Daylight. This means, in order to complete generators, Survivors can go elsewhere. Blood Pumps, or collecting Void Energy for Void Crystals to auto-repair generators.

The issue is that this leaves Killers wandering the map, not knowing where to patrol or search for Survivors, while Survivors are able to put Pressure on Generators without having to be in locations that Killers are likely to patrol, and Pressure Generators while making progress elsewhere with things like Healing or repairing other Gens.

This creates an extremely slippery situation for Killers, where they can feel like games are out of control even though they're doing everything "right"!

In the Blood Moon event, this is deeply frustrating because Survivors can be holding Blood ("Gen Progress") without having to be anywhere near the Generators, and the Killers have no idea where to look! (Not to mention, there's NOTHING for Killers to do during this event!)

I realized this was such an issue in Haunted by Daylight this year because in previous years, we had the Void! (I still have no idea why it was removed)
While you did have to go far out of your way to get there, that made it easy for Killers to know when it was happening - Survivors would become Broken so they'd get essentially an alert system! They could go there, and catch Survivors in an EXTREMELY vulnerable position. The Void was dangerous! High risk, high reward for Survivors, but relatively easy for Killers to catch Survivors. It acted like a beacon, Killers would be able to track Survivors down easily.

Bring back the Void - not only was it fun and different and interesting, but it was important to the core gameplay loop because it was another "Crossroads" that forced Killers and Survivors to meet, meaning Survivors could not make generator progress without safe from the Killer being able to put pressure on them.

Now that The Void has been removed, Killers have almost no advantages. They don't know where to look for Survivors, and while they're off chasing Survivors, Generators are repairing and Survivors are healing without Survivors having to put themselves in vulnerable positions. The Haunt Projectiles are so slow and easy to dodge they're practically useless. The ONLY thing Killers get is faster breaks, which is boring and lame, to be honest.

As events keep going on in Dead by Daylight, and as new objectives are prototyped I implore that more thought be put into designing them in ways that continue to force confrontations between the teams, rather than enabling teams to be able to go off and make progress in relative safety.

Dude, just put on some aura perks if you are bad at tracking survivors. Believe it or not, tracking survivors is kinda part of the game.

Are you really complaining about this event, which is giving killers more value than survivors?

Blood generators force survivors to literally cross back and forth to complete the gen - leaving scratch marks and being vulnerable to being spotted, injured or having their fuel can destroyed. The same for this Halloween event, you take their void energy when you hook them.

There is not much to do in this current Halloween event so survivors are just doing gens.

You shouldn't have to take specific kinds of builds just to outplay event mechanics.

This also does not solve the issue of Survivors being able to pressure generators without having to be at Killer+Survivor crossroads/choke points.

You can interact with Portals as Survivor to instantly fill your entire energy bar and place a crystal, it takes 6 seconds. There's no way you can hook every Survivor in 6 seconds before they use their crystals.
