rework MoM already -_-
im so tired of only playing against billy and nurse at purple/red ranks since the release of this stupid perk. i understand why killers only play this two, MoM is breaking the low tier killers even more and no one wants to deal with it. so please for the love of god and the game remove or rework this perk asap devs!

The Perk's balanced unless you face a 4-man with it (Less than 1% of lobbies)
4 -
Just use it to learn mind-games. It isn’t even that powerful since it requires three hits before activating and against certain killers it might never activate.
1 -
Funny that people don't even read the thread.
I agree, OP. Things need to change if there's to be more variety.
19 -
read the thread first before u comment pls. dont be another troll.
10 -
@TreemanXD How can you mindgame against MoM?
12 -
If that were true, you'd see OP was speaking from a survivor PoV, complaining about having to face the same two killers all the time.
0 -
Especially when playing as a survivor, since that's what OP was complaining about.
2 -
@NoShinyPony they’ll likely run to a loop. You might be able to mind-game the loop.
1 -
TLDR:
MoM force high rank killer play Nurse and Hillbilly(to counter) and make game boring
Rework pls
3 -
@TreemanXD I've never encountered this perk.
Idk if i will after i get nerfed to ######### either. I'll always injure with Frenzy then i will have to M1 follow up.
Thats 3 necessary post nerf hits (currently 0 necessary). MoM is super bad against Legion.
1 -
I read it, but still. It doesn't *force* anything
1 -
@TreemanXD So basically it's "you can counter MoM by hitting the survivor one more time".
6 -
I'm quite sure people play with these killers because the emblem system changed, not because MoM was introduced to the game
3 -
OKay, maybe not "Force" but still Nurse and Billy is good against MoM
And low/mid tier killer having trouble with MoM
0 -
@Bbbrian2013 I’ve used it and played against it. In most of my games with it it didn’t activate or I used it but more often than not the killers power countered it.
1 -
@NoShinyPony I’m saying use it for learning purposes. Read what I say.
1 -
are u trying to say that ppl only play this killers because its hard to rank up with others? you know that almost no one wants to be a high rank killers cuz of bad queue times right?

@NoShinyPony Or use a killer with an M2 attack.
Legion/Huntress/Billy/Leatherface
And Nurse for now at least
This perk isn't likely to be nerfed so this is legitimately the only counter you have. If you play M1 killers you'll have to eat the ######### m1 killers perk.
1 -
Not viable killers get punished for doing the objective.
And they have no counterplay vs this perk.
This is why MoM is bad for DbD.
9 -
thats what im saying. im tired of only playing against the same top tier killers because this stupid perk makes low tier killers struggle even more.
6 -
MoM its balance killers like nurse and billy are far too ez to get 4k if you know how to use them maybe in the ptb they change something about this 2 killers have a wierd hitbox
0 -
I'll never understand how people defend this perk, Switch the roles and give the killer an instadown for every survivor in a healthy state after hitting them 3 times and you clearly see how It's so blatantly unbalanced and bad for the game.
The silence from the Devs on this though makes me think they just don't care. They knew what they were doing when making it, They can't possibly be that oblivious to their own game and They've for sure seen the uproar the perk has caused but have yet to speak a word about it.
Sadly I don't think it'll be acknowledged or reworked anytime soon.

H@Bongbingbing and I’m assuming survivors could counter this with one of their powers that they don’t have? MoM can be prevented completely and this perk would have no actual counter.
0 -
@TreemanXD So you are telling killers to not mind MoM but to see it as an opportunity to practice chasing/mindgaming survivors some more?
0 -
@NoShinyPony that’s what I do.
0 -
@NoShinyPony also if you use it as practice then your overall chasing ability might get better.

MoM isn't a fun perk for a killer to face. It's yet another second chance perk with little interaction on the Killer's part and recreated the bad feelings Decisive Strike had. Detective's Hunch didn't suffer from this level of outcry for example. Killer's don't like feeling robbed because someone slotted in a perk and they really don't like having those perks stack on top of each other. For example...
Borrowed Time into Dead Hard into MoM into Decisive Strike into Adrenaline is not only uncommon it's becoming the new meta. That is not fun to face, especially when in mass. Eventually we are going to have to create a debuff for second chance perks to prevent them from stacking.
3 -
@TreemanXD So if there is a survivor group with 4 insta-heals and 4 x MoM, the killer shouldn't complain but be happy that the survivors give him so many chances to practice chasing?
That's surely a very unique view on this topic.
7 -
@Lemming A debuff for 2nd-chance-perks is an interesting thought. We have exhaustion so that Lithe can't be combined with Dead Hard. There could be something similar for DS, MoM etc.
3 -
MoM is a stupid perk. ITs basically DS 2.0. And soon the bugs are fixed and it works in more situations so it gets even worse.
Why do the devs do this? Because they want money and dont care for the health of the game.
They should really just rework the perk. In this post a forum meber had a great ideafor a mom rework:
If they do this rework MoM would still be good but not OP and i would be willing to give them money again eventhough i dont play survivor much. But with perks like this hell no.
2 -
stop feeding the troll already dude. i know its hard but just ignore him like me and he will stop eventually.
2 -
@TreemanXD I usually agree with you, but you're acting kinda trollish
1 -
Year its a great idea and something the devs could really do without too much community backlash. Sadly i think the devs will refuse cause they want people to buy the Ash DLC and wont touch it for 2+ years like DS (at which time pretty much everyone had the DLC already so they didnt lose much money cause of it)
However if a dev reads this i think you will make much more money in the long run if you stop releasing second chance perks that are even behind a pay wall. There are surely more people like me who will refuse to give you money till you stop with such stuff.

It is indeed weird how the perk works worse against better killers like billy. I think any time you are injured you should gain a stack, that way killers can get it out of the way early game so it can't be a crutch towards the end

So you think the way to balance this perk is make It so that It doesnt have any counter in the game? Nice :D
6 -
Why it should of been was "Being put into the dying state from the healthy state grants a token. At 2 tokens Mettle of Man activates preventing the next time the survivor would be put into the dying state from the healthy state. Healing to the healthy state after the perk activates provides aura reading to the killer."
That would of made it good against the better killers and perks while allowing for counter play and changing survivor behavior. Right now people go out of their way to get hit so they can MoM at crucial times. By tying it to instant downs you make it more of an instant down protection perk and decouple it from items providing extra hit economy.
0 -
Just mind game the hit!
0 -
No, i never said i know how to nerf it, however i find it ridiculous that it's useless against billy and nurse but amazing against freddy. Balance it among killers before you nerf it, as then it won't work at all against some killers, and work ok against others, which gives survivors another situational perk that no one will run unless it's some toxic SWF group and then it's even more disgusting

You read my comments wrong.

@NoShinyPony that group is very rare.

Queue times seem fine now. And yes I totally believe people prefer the higher tier killers so they can get their pip, apply good pressure and not get played around with.
