Marth experiment
What that guy wanted to show ? I watched some of his games where team plays with toolboxes killer is getting gen rushed etc what was his point? I guess that if you play good as survivor killer is going to depip?About 100 games to prove that? Lol. Take Mori as kiler and same will happen to survivors. In some of his games some killers even win some make stupid mistakes like chasing one survivor until all pallets are gone.
P.S. I thought he was a good player but he seemed like trash to be honest or was it early games i dont know. He said next in one of his games " He knows Billy well" lol the guy played with insta chainsaw totally proves how little Marth knows about dbd.

Yes he showed that if survivors go in and focus on the objective only that theres no way the survivors can lose.... they went against 5blink nurses... ebony mori... iridescent heads.... and yet after 100 games only like 5 killers pipped..... and they did this perkless

Doesn't sound like you actually watched his videos at all. He has hundreds of matches of him depipping r1 killers with his no items no perks squad. He wanted to show how flawd SWF is and he did a good job of it.

@TreemanXD There was only 1 official one. They came in 2nd. Lost to a Russian team and people said it was rigged because they lost.
Was a huge deal back then people went nuts bhvr had to step in.

@artist Or the game is just highly unbalanced... because I wouldnt say scottjund is bad in anyway shape or form.... Marths squad was on like 20 game depip streak before getting hit by Scott and it took camping Beafu after the gates were powered to pip against them....

I also think that for this experiment to take meaning they need to go against good killer not random ones. To be honest when i play this game i rarely see good nurses or Billies its always low tier killers and low tier players. I rarely see good killers .

I once played nurse against gen rushers ( SWF, no mither , resilent , leader , toolboxes ) . Gens got done in less than 3 mins if im not wrong. I killed 3 and still depiped cause they simply denied me gen emblem.

Sounds about right.... since they were good at sitting on gens and tapping a button they were better then y......... wait you killed 3 meaning they weren't yet they still depipped you.... yeah games balanced AF eh?

The chances of Marth getting lots of time to do it right now are low. He still isn't a full time streamer, and his health has been drastically effecting how often he streams.
Hopefully he can do it again, but if not, then hope for him a smooth recovery.

It's not even the same game today that it was when this "experiment" took place. But people still like to site it as evidence. Just for the record, it was 14 out of 100 killers that pipped.

His old experiment was to prove that if a swf played as tryhard as possible using every avantage possible, they would always win and depip the killer, at least that's what i remember.

That experiment is still relevant btw. Gen times and chase mechanics didn't change. Also, they went against multiple Nurses, which is as good as it gets in terms of chases.

If this "experiment" had been done in rando lobbies, I'd be more willing to accept its findings, but cherry-picking 4 survs who've been playing since release and then acting like it's how the average survivor plays is seriously flawed. Besides, I'm skeptical of anyone who puts "one of the best killers in the game" in their Twitch profile.

That's not the point of the experiment. The point is to show that survivors are the ones who dictate how trials go; not killers. This is the reverse of what an asymmetrical game should be.

no, plenty of competent killers can win easily with those builds, blame the killers for losing those games with such powerful builds, not the survivors

It is true that gen times have not changed, but there are more killer perks that affect gen progress now than there were when the "experiment" was conducted. There are also numerous changes to chase mechanics since then. Also, the very condition by which the experiment was conducted (aka killer's pips) have changed multiple times. The "experiment" simply doesn't hold up to the test of time. I would certainly be interested in a group of players conducting a new experiment though. Preferably with more controls in place such as controlling the quality of killer and various perks/mori's/maps/etc.

Yeah but in that case the killer is going to depip anyways if the survivors take advantage of the camp... camping is not fun for anyone but it's also a garbage strat

@artist then I guess in 200 matches.. 100 perkless and itemless and 100 straight meta the depip squad didn't go against that many competent rank 1 killers

I'm sure not everyone used an overpowered build, and whoever did, well that's probably why they are rank 1 in the first place (not that rank matters)

The experiment did prove that skilled survivors hardcore focusing on the objective is something the balance of the game simply doesn't take into account at all.
People took the results and represented teams like that as way more common than they are though, spreading accidental misinformation at best and knowingly spreading disinformation at worst. Balancing the game around survivors doing what Marth and his boys did is like balancing the game around killers all being top 1% nurse mains running omegablink ebony mori every game as it's essentially the survivor equivalent.

The original experiment is flawed, and the new one will be, too: alternate 'objectives' do not significantly affect the primary one against experienced players. It never has, and it's tough to say if it ever will.

Ah yes this nonsense again, games changed and the chances you'll go against that level of swf or lobby period is almost nil. when faced with competition of their actual level they didn't do so hot.
So unless and until they actually can do an experiment against same level competition it's irrelevant.

Marth recently did just that. He took a new account from rank 20 to rank 1 and did it in about 80 games. It isn't hard to rank up, even with randos. It's that players are playing the game wrong, coming back for saves when they don't need to or is risky to attempt. When a player gets his emblems and just leaves the killer can barely do anything.

What I found most interesting was the averages. Nearly 20k blood points per game, first generator at 1:53 and last at 7:33, nearly a 70% escape rating, and around 41% of all matches having Ruin but only about 3% of the matches had a Mori in them. That means games are lasting much longer with randoms (about another 1/3 to what I'm personally seeing when I do Killer) and Killers don't seem to be using Mori that much, but quite a bit of the Killer base is using Ruin. It also means he was earning on average one pip per a match.

Ive seen good survivors and i am not so bad myself . Marth is simply not high level play. Games ive seen with Marth he plays almost like a casual.

Unless all that data from the previous post was made up (which I doubt) then he is clearly better than average survivor. His survival rate was 69% while ranking up. The average survival rate is around 40%. Considering those were all solo games, you can't say he was carried either.
Don't get me wrong here. I'm no Marth88 fanboi. But facts are facts. The evidence doesn't support him being referred to as a "casual" player.

It's a relatively small sample size, but in terms of which killers performed the best, these are the results:
Myers: 3 kills 3 escapes 6 games total 50% kill rate
Pig: 3 kills 3 escapes 6 games total 50% kill rate
Billy: 2 kills 3 escapes 5 games total 40% kill rate
Nurse: 4 kills 7 escapes 11 games total 36% kill rate
Huntress: 3 kills 8 escapes 11 games total 27% kill rate
Spirit: 1 kills 5 escapes 6 games total 20% kill rate
Lol, guess Myers and Pig are top tier =p

Makes sense. Nurse, Huntress and Spirit require a certain skill set to use well and not everyone is going to have that. Seems in line with what the devs gave us on the Killer stats last year, with Nurse curving upward through the ranks along with Huntress. Spirit hadn't been released at that time.

Maybe he s changed i dont know im talking about games ive seen him in. For example he drops pallets too early. Doesnt loop good. Never i seen him juking a killer. So yeah he s not good survivor.
Top tier killers ive seen him going against : he performs bad and thats what matters. Anyone can pallet loop low tier killers.

His experiment is still actual, it is based on the core game mechanics that didn't change at all since DBD came out, except the Hag dlc. Maybe the only significative change to the core gameplay is this Endgame Collapse ... I really hope they release it in the near future (and don't wait another year like they did 1 year ago with hatch standoff fix).

If Marth going for another experiment, the results will be even worse for the Killers. You can very easily force a black Gatekeeper Emblem on Killers if you just gen rush.
Super easy to make Killers depip as no Emblem in Gatekeeper means a Safety Pip AT BEST in high rank.

You mean that tournament where they lost against the russian team who later on admitted to lagswitching in order too win but the devs stll let them win?
This is kinda something the entire community from when that tournament happened knows unless ofc your someone who's purposefully not knowing in order to fit your argument.
