Preventing survivors from doing any gens yet one can still get a free escape
Honestly it is dumb that you can prevent survivors from doing 5 or 4 gens and they can still get the hatch after a terrible performance I had a couple ideas to reward the killer for preventing gens from being done
Idea 1: Aura reading
If a killer prevents a certain amount of generators they get Aura reading for the hatch for example 5 gens left 32 meter range for hatch 4 gens left 16 meter range bonus 3 gens 12 meter range bonus obviously numbers can be tweaked a little but I think this would be a solid buff
Idea 2: Hatch closing
If there are 5 gens left still why not have the hatch instantly close as a bonus? Or if they only do one gen then have it close after 30 seconds? and then anything after that you have to close the hatch yourself
Idea 3: Indication on hatch location
Maybe something to where YOU get to see the hatch before the survivor gets to see it like when there are only two survivors left and there are still 4 or 5 gens left YOU get the ability to see the hatch but the survivors don't get to see it on there screen or even if you sacrifice the second to last survivor and there are 4 or 5 gens left you get a notification to the hatch location
Anything to actually reward the killer for doing a good job on preventing gens from being done
Thoughts?

survivors are obviously weak they need this
4 -
doesn't mean they deserve a free escape for little to no gens done
5 -
uhh that was sarcasm.
3 -
Sorry I am incapable of understanding human emotions

What do you think?

It's fine, honestly. Just slug for the 4k. Or just find the hatch and close it. If they get it, they get it.
11 -
It's compensation for being able to close the hatch now and start EGC. Or just plain compensation for all the free kills you get with EGC now.
Really just find the hatch first and close it - not like you don't have a speed and freedom of movement advantage to find it first.
10 -
@Poweas the rework was supposed to make it so the killer wouldn't have to slug and prevent hatch standoffs only the standoffs were eliminated
Plus I shouldn't have to slug and find the last brain dead survivor thats sitting in a locker waiting for the hatch to spawn even though they havent done anything all game
3 -
@legion_main idk honestly what to think about this. On the one hand, I hate it myself, but on the other, survivors shouldn't be punished for trash tier teammates.
Idk what to think, personally I think it should stay.
2 -
How do you know they didn't do anything all game? If they did indeed do nothing, they actually helped you way more than the other survivors. Other survivors should be the judge of that, not the killer.
2 -
How often are you preventing no gens from getting done? Its a rare occurrence from what I have seen and played. And that time that happens the killers are usually highly mobile like Nurse, Billy, and maybe, Spirit. Odds are still in the killers favor to find the hatch first. I hate to break it to killer mains but the fact that survivors have hope to escape keeps people playing the game. If the chance of surviving was nil a lot of players, myself included, would stop playing survivor. Be reasonable.

@feechima its only really a nerf to finding the hatch first the actual endgame would not be affected
If I prevent 4 to 5 gens for being done I should be rewarded like it previously was where the hatch did not spawn so I think any of these would be a reasonable change
1 -
You can still close the hatch before they reach it, i do like that free kill :)
2 -
Well if hatch did not spawn so you could close it, how would EGC start? That's right - you are now in a stalemate with a survivor who could just hide for hours, the very thing they were trying to eliminate.
Oh I see - so when there is only one survivor left it is auto win. Glad you don't design games.

@darktrix I did not say it should be reverted to that im saying there should be a payoff for preventing the survivors for doing the gens
1 -
This is such nonsense I don't even know where to begin...
3 -
@darktrix I love your response!
1 -
Take it as a trade off for removing survivor sided hatch standoffs.

Players need to have a possibility to escape or they will DC when it becomes clear that 5 gens aren't getting done. If you are doing so well that you are preventing any gens from getting done and getting 3 kills, what is the problem? Stop looking at 4k as the only way to win/have fun and you'll enjoy the game more.
3 -
They DC regardless so that's bull crap.
1 -
That coveted 4k feels great to get but it really isn't the most important thing in the world. Does it suck when you do really well and the last survivor gets the hatch? Absolutely.
But if you dominated the game that hard, I think it's best to just move on anyway. Also makes sense to give the last survivor hope, seeing as the Entity feeds off that and all.

I still believe that if at least 2 gens aren't completed, the 3rd survivor's death should start the end game collapse.
First, it's stupid to punish the killer for doing well. Not only do they get the hatch option, but it only spawns once the second to last dies, meaning the killer has had no chance to see the hatch and it's just random chance who finds it first rather than any play of skill.
Secondly, as a survivor it motivates teammates to actually get ######### done. If the killer is on me there's not much motivation to do gens cos there's always the shot at hatch. There's been so many worthless teammates doing nothing before this, now they don't even need the bare minimum.
2 -
Would you prefer the 4th hide until they get bored of keeping you busy?
Because that's what this prevents.
3 -
DING DING DING!
Instead, these COD kiddies want Burger King Happy Mealz.
Killah Mainz grew up on COD4 where they could own other players by doing absolutely nothing.
So when Survivors outplay them, it's "a problem."
Real gamers grew up on GoldenEye 64, Perfect Dark, Halo, and GTA III. Unforgiving!
2 -
Doing nothing then skulking out the hatch is apparently 'outplaying' someone now.
2 -
exactly this is 100% of what i am trying to say but apparently all these people think the last survivor deserves a free escape for doing nothing
1 -
How do you know they did nothing? Someone had to do hook saves. And if they did do nothing, they (greatly) helped you win.
1 -
Thats the whole point there is really no counterplay if they didn't do enough gens for hatch to spawn if you slug they will just hide until they die so what are you supposed to do then huh?
1 -
@darktrix anyone can rush a hook save the whole point is the fact that if only 0, 1, or 2 gens were done hatch won't spawn or anything removing any counterplay you can make against a hatch play
1 -
Hatch is fixed now. However I agree that it should have stayed at 2 gens REQUIRED to open it.
0 -
But then you still got the 1 survivor, no gens done scenerio and no EGC, unless you are proposing the game just automatically kills the last survivor for you.
0 -
I suspect they made it this way so the last survivor couldn't hold the game hostage.
2 -
No way..... When there is only one survivor left... and no gens done.... The Challenge begins!
Find the hatch first... it is a race to who can find it.... You already move faster than the survivor.
It isn't a good challenge unless you give them the feeling they have a chance.
Remember...
2 -
I had this happen. Completely steamrolled a group. 0 Gens done and none even close to being done...hooked the 3rd Person went to find the 4th guy...poof "Find the Hatch" appears and the last guy gets out.
I do NOT agree with this, if the Survivors had gotten at least one Gen done...Id be fine, but to reward players for doing nothing except swarm hooks and swarm my totem repeatedly...feels fundamentally wrong.
Let us see the Hatch if we're in this situation, because this just rewards bad behaviour and playing. Sandbag your team, hide find Hatch "win". And no, I do not care that I did not get a 4K, I care that I worked, outplayed and capitalized against a team and one of them gets an out for free.
It be the same ro give me a free Mori once all the Gens are done if I didn't Hook anyone..it isn't right or fair in the least. It teaches Survivors nothing about improving their play and coordination amd gives a middle finger to Killers.
1 -
I'mma be real with you champ, if its a 1v1 situation, regardless of number of gens down, you just win unless the survivor gets VERY luck with hatch spawn. Like, the trade off of a 1% chance of not getting your 4k is worth EVERY other benefit of EGC.
0 -
@ba_tetsuo That is not true its almost a 50/50 chance on who finds the hatch first since it's totally random
the only advantage the killer has is being able to move a little faster than the survivor
1 -
@legion_main beautiful ideas. Too bad the devs won't dare to make survivors unhappy.
I would be fine just with the return of the hatch grab. That used to be sooo funny, I loved it!
1 -
just slug for the 4k if you really want to kill every survivor
0 -
As killer, you already have a distinct advantage in being able to find the hatch first in any 1v1, and it’s essentially game over once that happens. To complain about a survivor escaping in the rare game with 4 or 5 gens left is pretty silly, as you are certainly coming out ahead since hatch closing was added.
0 -
@Groxiverde like i said survivor can just hide the whole time as they have been doing for generations
3 -
@SurpriseSurprise I have no idea where you got the idea that I said to make the hatch not spawn
I presented an idea for the killer to have a bonus in finding the hatch first IF they prevent gens from being done
0 -
@applepie_1998 Typical self entitled survivor expecting to escape every game
3 -
Never happy. First the hatch at 2 gens done is a problem. Then egc is implemented, which heavily favors us due to the difficulty of getting doors open vs a killer watching both exits. But even that is not good enough, now we hate that any survivor gets a "free escapr".
1. No such thing as a free escape. They have to find the hatch first or out mind game the killer to escape.
2. It is not about "deserving" anything. It is a game and it is played for fun. No body deserves anything in the game other than the opportunity to play it.
Get better at slugging for that 4k if you are that desperate for it. Or, be like most players and just have fun, then get back to real life.
1 -
@SurpriseSurprise Once again not what I said you seem to misinterpret a lot of stuff don't you?
If a survivor manages to get through a gate good on them I personally think the gates should be buffed so they can't spawn right next to each other
you forget the fact I play both killer and survivor equally
1 -
@SurpriseSurprise yes because at least I know that if a survivor can actually manage to open the exit gate and escape then I know it was my inability as a killer to patrol the gates efficiently enough not due to bullshit hatch spawns
0 -
@SurpriseSurprise Its way different because it actually takes time to open a gate unlike hatch where it is just a instant escape
0 -
@SurpriseSurprise Its called trapping the exit gates before end game

Keep in mind that solos exists. Sometimes just 1 single bad team mate can completely screw the team.
I think their should be separate hatch rules for solo and swf. For solo it should be as it is now, got swf they have to do at least 1 gen.
The issue is how you gonna make rules if only 2 are in swf and 2 solo?
0 -
@HavelmomDaS1 Even then the team should have the ability to do at least 2 gens and if not then thats there problem for not doing the gens
0 -
So, you got what you wanted by being able to close the hatch.
Yet, the whinging continues
