When is Mettle of Man getting nerfed?
Who on the testing team thought that this perk was ok to let into the live game? There is literally 0 counter play and everyone who runs it are always toxic in the end game chat because there's nothing a killer can do about it. The best "counter" is noed which is incredibly easy too get rid of. I don't want too wait another 3 years before another OP perk, like the old DS, gets nerfed so I and many others can actually have fun as killer. I know there is a nerf coming but we need a time frame, because atm I have never wanted too not play killer as much as right now. Even old DS had a counter in the form of dribbling and Endurance.

they announced an upcoming nerf, so i guess with the Ghostface Chapter you will get your wish.

Hopefully in the Ghostface chapter in 2 weeks. There's usually a small list of tweaks that come with them.
I do agree about it being quite an unhealthy perk though. Even if it get's nerfed, just the fact that the balance team actually looked at it and thought it would be a good idea is just terrifying and says a lot about their understanding of the games balance. It also shows that nothing was learned from DS.

I agree with all that you said except this:
"There is literally no counter play."
So I'll list the counters now:
- The Huntress with good aim. (MoM activates with basic attacks)
- Leatherface's Chainsaw
- The Hillbilly's Chainsaw
- The Plague (If sick the ash to injured, then hit. Do this til 3 hooks. By hitting them exactly 3 times, the MoM isn't active)
- The Legion (Same reasoning with PLAG, use feral frenzy, not basic attack, then hit them exactly 3 times whie already injured. MoM won't activate.)
- Camp em on first hook (not recommended to camp, but it is a counter)

@TheGameZpro3 so let's take a look at your counters.
1 : Of this list, I will consider Huntress as the only one of two legitimate ways to counter this perk because she actually has to use her power, however it's not impossible to get MoM to activate against her either especially on bad maps.
2 : Leatherface is horrible, his chainsaw provides barely any use in the average match unless the survivor makes a huge mistake.
3 : Hillbilly is on the fence, this can partially be correct but some setups on particular maps are so disgusting that sometimes you have to M1 meaning that like Huntress it's not impossible to activate MoM if you're smart.
4 : Plague isn't that great of a killer, if you can bait an M1 attack before you're broken then her power doesn't matter especially if nobody cleanses.
5 : Legion has an incredibly extensive 20 second cooldown for a mediocre power, sometimes chaining hits is not possible and with not knowing exactly who is running the perk it's entirely possible and very easy to activate MoM against Legion.
6 : Camping is not a counter because you cannot possibly know if someone is running MoM before it activates and so just camping for the sake of camping is just being a dick and should not ever be encouraged. To even hint that this could be a counter indicates it's a flawed design and is a boring tactic for both sides.
So of this list, if you're looking to actually have fun then you can only ever use Billy or Huntress which not everybody wants to exclusively run those two killers and leaves every other killer in the game dry, forcing them to play against it if they choose to not play in an unfun way which is fundamentally flawed as it harms the already weak killers that nobody reasonable ever complains about in the first place.
Judging by your comment you don't like the perk but I think the above needed to be said regardless.

4: Gonna be honest, don't get why people say she's bad. Decent Map Pressure (From survivors spreading the plague), Give everyone No Mither, Survivors are louder with smell clouds making them easier to spot. I swear to god, I think she's the fifth best killer in the game (Nurse, Spirit, Hillbilly, and Hag beat her.). Plus she has good add-ons. All it is just vomit before hitting, don't see how hard that is.

Hopefully in next patch, but we know it took devs 2 years to nerf DS so Im not holding my breath.
My current counter to MoM is only playing Billy. Survivors that are good and use MoM (I know sounds crazy) can still force me to M1 instead of Chainsaw, but most MoM users are boosted so its not an issue.
Id love to get back to playing M1 killers, but here we are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

About 6 or 7 patches, after all the stalling saying "the rework didn't FEEL good, so we're leaving you with broken garbage in the meantime rather than nerfing it at all."

1. One if the Huntress gameplays aspects his to use m2 in close range to follow up a M1 immediately cuz short cooldown.
2. U can force a Leatherface to use M1, unless u r in the open, which is a missplay of the survivor and not a good play of the killer.

4. Current meta against Plague is not to heal with the fountain, so ur m2 is doing ######### to counter MoM
5. Yeaaah, no. M2 will always be followed up with M1. And u can't use m2 immediately like previously, now u have to wait till the bar is completely filled. This forces you to use M1 more often than u wish.
6. Yeah, u will win the "no MoM for you nerd" match, but you will lose the whole match with that. + the fun drops immediately to 0, nothing more boring than doing nothing and watching the hooked guy.

The Devs do make some questionable balance choices a lot of the time but MoM is one of the worst designed perks they've ever created, I think It may have been a decision made out of greed to sell Ash's DLC rather than ignorance. I just can't believe they thought it would be balanced the way it is. Either way, It doesn't paint them in a good light.

Devs try to help the survivors as much they can. Just think the meta we are in no heal and instead of changing it the nerf thanatophobia the only perk that can punish survivors for not healing.

I wont be buying anymore DLC once mettle is nerfed. There’s no need for the incoming nerf. If they want to balance it just make it so when EGC starts it becomes inactive. Easy balance.

I still dont get the hate for MoM. I had a double DS MoM game and still got 3k (hatch escape). If they're all trolling you and trying to get hit, they're not doing gens.
Power through it, learn how to manage survivors and pressure over simply chasing and hitting the same person repeatedly.

Just because there is a counter to MoM does not mean it is balanced, having to deal with survivors that have x1.5 the health or being forced to play a certain killer is annoying.
Games are supposed to be fun, right?

How is there no need for a nerf? You can only play Billy or Huntress, and maybe nurse if your good with her. out of all the killers and only 3 are viable, there is a problem that needs changing. This perk is unfair and everyone runs it. Hell, even old DS had a downside if multiple people brought it, but MoM has none. And the "downside" is being seen for a few seconds, which means nothing if you are in a chase or they brought distortion with Mettle. Nothing about this perk is balanced or fair, and the balance team really needs too step it up because this perk is just broken on paper.

For me personally, the frustration from MoM comes from the end of the game when someone is involved in an unsafe rescue but still gets away because they managed to activate MoM over the course of the game.

The second paragraph says it all. Do they actually play the game? "We're reworking DS because it punishes killers for successfully completing their objective so here's a perk less than a month later that does the exact same thing but worse."

Anyone could look at that perk and after minor testing with the perk would see that the perk is obviously unbalanced. The developers obviously knew it was clearly unbalanced and they put it in the game on a character that you MUST pay real money to be able to use. This sales strategy is common in video games, I wouldn't count on that perk being the last one that is clearly unbalanced. Hopefully it gets patched soon and not 2 years later.

Realistically, besides non swf, who runs mettle of man? I play in red ranks and there’s maybe 1 or 2 people per match running mettle. Most of the time in non swf mettle does very little besides prolong a chase. I am guessing some killers are vsing an swf and then crying that it is unbalanced. I am billy, doc and freddy main and do not have very many issues.
also red rank survivor and its saved me vs tunneling killers.

MoM hurts already weak killers while not really affecting strong killers. That's not a good thing. That's the opposite of good. There are a lot of perks that already extend chases, and this one stacks on top of them. There are exhaustion perks, there's BT, there's DS, do we really need Mom on top of that? Should we just give killers wiffle bats and be done with it?
If a perk hurts weak killers and pushes players towards using Hillbilly to get around it, then it's a poorly designed perk. Besides, I thought survivors were tired of facing Hillbillies.

I agree, and I've posted many counters as well, there are only about 4 killers that don't have a strong counter to MoM. Freddy is one of them, but he's getting buffed soon, so we'll see. Even so, even with just a couple that don't have strong counters, A perk shouldn't be countered by every killer, or why would anyone use it? Survivors don't know what killer their against, so it's stupid to whine about the 3-4 that don't have strong counters.
