Struggling useless

As a survivor main I notice how utterly uselss struggling is.. They should either make a perk for the survivor that lets them struggle out faster or just get rid of it.. It only works on noob killers that don't know what a hook is or super greedy killers who want to go across the map to the basement.. I think it needs to be worked on or taken out of the game because it is just useless..

It's useful when you have a coordinated team and will save you every now and then but other than that? Yes. It is useless but it should be kept that way. Nobody should be getting off the killers shoulder without interference from other survivors rather than by themselves.

There's Boil Over the Kate Denson perk which is 25/50/75% ore to your struggling and you obscure hooks within x distance.

I do agree, killers after just 1 game will know what to do with hooks and having them so close together is super annoying. I once asked in a dead by daylight live stream of wiggle could progress with how fast you press left and right. The answer they gave was quickly ushered out of the way and they moved on. I’m guessing the answer is that people can use macros to super tap the left and right keys and be off the shoulder within seconds. This is just not fun!.

I did take a clip of that if anyone wants to see it.

As for the wiggle mechanic in general, it is useless unless you have a team mate (or mates) who take a hit for you. Especially during the double blood weekend when most people are using Were Gonna Live Forever which means that if they take a hit for you while the killer carries you they get a stack for that perk.

In general picking a victim up should result in hooking!
Wiggling should only make escapes possible if the killer wants to walk long distances to get someone hooked in a specific place or if he gets hindered by other survivor on his way (or if the area is already void of hooks, either by them already been used or sabod).
You are not supposed to wiggle free on a regular basis.
If you think it is "useless" feel free to simple not doing it. :P

Like Wolf74 said, if you believe wiggling to be useless, then stop doing it. Killers everywhere will thank you for it.

    Wolf74 described it perfectly.

Once you're picked up it's normal meant to result in a hook unless someone interferes or the killer is nowhere near an available hook.

They even stated on stream the main reason why boil over doesn't increase wiggle speed is because it would be annoying for the killer.

The whole point of struggling is not to get basement'ed everytime you get caught, in most scenarios. It's actually far from useless, since getting in the basement, against several killers, is just death.

Not sure if html works in these comments so im going to try it.
If not, the edit will just be a link.

Too bad that’s not at all how it works. In fact, you make more consistent wiggle progress by doing it slow and steady, especially on console. It doesn’t detect the speed of the presses, just that you’re doing them

Anything that buys you time is not useless and if you struggling throws him off his path both making him walk into obstacles and delay you being put on the hook then its worthwhile being in the game.

Struggling was only introduced that the killer cant carry all his victims into his basement. It was never meant to be a possibility for the survivor to escape the grasp (that would be insane, imagine if that was a thing) and in fact bodyblocking in front of the hook became a thing to abuse this mechanic

I have to correct you there. There is a score category which is for taking hits while a survivor is within a killers grasp. Blocking a killer from hooking or walking through a doorway whilst carrying a survivor was ALWAYS INTENDED as a way to escape the killers grasp.

Edit to add: A killer has the option to hit a bodyblocking survivor. They always have the power to make them move!.

Yeah yeah just hit the bodyblocking surivor, too bad that there are 3 of them and they can effectively deny the hook with that

But killers are not allowed to bodyblock the survivor away from the unhook button # double standards

You should treat wiggling as a 4% kobe on the hook. Now if you wanna escape from the killer's grasp instantly then use DS but that perk was designed around rank 20's.

"If it doesn't guaranty an escape it's useless"
    That's what you sound like
I hope they do get rid of it like you "kindly"suggest they should do so you'll end up in the basement every single time you get downed.
Sure you will have a lot of fun
    After all, who need struggling?

I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate for a moment and say that if Survivors could no longer wiggle, hook spawns could be redesigned to be less dense. On the other hand, DS would become even more meta than it is now...

Certainly not double standards. You (as the killer) can also choose to drop your survivor and chases one of the others. You will get so many more points this way. ‘Survivor found’, ‘survivor hit’, ‘chases’, and the chance to down another one.

    ha...this post is very noobish

you have all common noobs problems

than i have to say do you played killers too?

i can control where should i down most times except when killer is nurse

also planning is not that hard if you know the maps

you can expect where is basement

and this game have simple method so when you skilled enough

you can choose hit by killer and save certain pallet or use pallets to loop them

also can avoid basement for sure

if you can't adjust when you go down its your fault

or map was favor killer lots like

when map is father cambell and center building window positions are bad

    bad pallet larry

random bad pallets of meat factory

    bad pallets position swamp

but other maps you can have plan and loop them easy way if you gud enough

so git gud and shut with my bad grammar

Have you ever seen or experienced this? I'm a killer main, but never in my entire time have I seen this happen either as a killer or survivor. Why are you making comments about something that I don;t think I've ever seen mentioned or anyone experiencing.

And yes, "wiggle mechanic in general, it is useless unless you have a team mate (or mates) who take a hit for you", that is the whole point of it. And as someone else stated, it's to stop killers walking halfway across the map to take you to the basement. And that I can confirm given that just today, I picked up a survivor who was on their 2nd hook who didn't wiggle at the start because they knew there were nearby hooks. The basement however, wasn't too far away out of wiggle time reach. However, since they were not wiggling, I did decide to take them to the basement which they could have easily escaped from being hooked in had they wiggled from the start.

Please re-read my comment. I did not say that is what is happening right now. I am saying if they made the wiggle so that it goes by how fast you tap left and right you escape quicker - The reason they have not made it in this way is because macro users (which by the way, are a lot!) will abuse the system.

There's already counters to being carried to a hook, and you should honestly be mindful of where you're going down. I hate people that run a killer for miles, only to end up in the basement because that's where they decided to go down.

Flashlight saves, sabotage, body blocking, and the rare pallet stun are all counters. A lot of carries for the distance will result in 80% struggle, so only a single body blocked hit is needed to free someone.
