So, devs why do you even make new killers?

Member Posts: 111

The last 3 killers have all been mid-low tier at best and on the legion rework stream it was brought up that

Legion

didn't

need

to

be

top

tier

I mean sure they don't need to be hillbilly levels of good, but insisting that you want weak killers is quite frankly, a bad way to do it. And let's talk about The Ghost Face. His power is countered by literally just spinning your camera and once you do stalk survivors have ample time to run.

Congrats on another spirit fury/enduring M1 killer with a mediocre power we sure don't have enough of those!

@poopman I agree, I LOVE the gameplay, but as it stands the latest track record of killers has been meh at best on purpose. They're afraid of another Hillbilly, a competitive killer for once. Seriously Billy is ALL you see at high ranks wit nurse, you know a game is doing something wrong when two of the oldest killers are the only real viable ones

The thing is, we don't necessarily have to be. We can tunnel, run NOED, etc. I don't necessarily want to, but this is getting insane.

@Cursed_hatchet This is what happens when we ask for licensed killers we didn't even want anyway...

i just want 1 horror icon be ruined right now. Not happy ghostface and new pig are just awful comparisons to there franchises. Freddy is looking better but we should have that much care to brand in all licensed killers.

Feel some killers get the treatment of goombas in live action mario movie.

"This is tottally faithful to brand even though didn't research the subject matter. I think my version of killer is what i think they were."

The worry of breaking licensed killers and just aquiring a mask license has me worried. Whats to stop them from a hockey mask licensed content. Also whats to stop them from taking your personal favourite killer and making them bad. Then can have half community not understanding why don't like your favourite killer.

I wouldn't say that since the community has wanted ghostface for a while. Instead we got a crappy knock off version that has no ties to scream at all and has a useless power.

Alot of the community aren't even horror fans. The fan boys will accept any crumbs the devs throw at them. Everyone loves to trash F13 but you know what, that game got Jason right, he's powerful, scary and acts how Jason would. I'm happy BHVR won't get their grubby hands on my Jason because if they did, I'd guarantee they would make a worse version of Trapper.

Or they'll just get the hockey mask and make a copy cat Jason and we all know how well F13 part 5 did...

Agreed, the devs need to stick to original characters. I prefer to see what they come up with instead of getting watered down horror icons. Huntress is my favourite character as you can see from my avatar.

Pinhead could be next, you never know. Also theres a another paragraph on this year's road map so we'll see.

We'll probably get the fat cashier and Costco in the mid chapter patch.

You know ghostface will get big changes to make him better, like plague, spirit, and legion did heading into live. Obviously legion was weak in live but unfun to vs so he got a rework, spirit is top tier, and plague is above average. Ghostface is weak on day 1 of ptb, im sure he'll see some pretty big changes over next 2 weeks.

That's the point, I don't want to have to tunnel or result to those tactics just to get even 1k if BHVR knew this then hopefully this stop holding survs hands and pushing killers away with boring or plain frustrating game play

    @Victory I disagree, alot

Legion and plague are both M1 killers that need to be looped as their power will hurt survivors, but that's kind of it. They're still "Standard " killers and remember the devs literally said they didn't want Legion too tier i.e they kept them bad ON PURPOSE. Spirit is viable at high ranks since she isn't easily looped. Plague was nerfed after her PTB with the movement speed reduction and given ######### buffs to compensate.

And with Ghostface? This proves they don't test their own damn game. Do we need another hillbilly? No, but make killers not rely on a gimmick to be good is all I ask

To name one example of a more balanced killer. Spirit is incredible but I don't think she can mop the floor in the hands of a new killer. New Spirits are far more likely to out mind game themselves.

Spirit is proof that you can have a competitive killer that requires skill and focus.

plague got amazing buffs lol, legion isn't that bad. Its not always the killer, usually most of the time, its the player.

@poopman Some killers will never be viable at high ranks due to their power being weak and ability to be easily looped. The reason why Nurse, Spirit, and Hag are top tier is because they can have map pressure and aren’t easily looped. No kind of buffs is going to make Trapper and Wraith as good as Nurse and Spirit unless they can start going through walls.

The Spirit PTB is proof that the devs can make a mediocre killer powerful but Spirit always had potential. Ghostface HAS potential to be as powerful as Myers but it is gonna be based on whether or not the devs want to do something about it. Myers can permanently stalk and never have to worry about losing his entire power. Why would I play Ghostface over the more powerful Myers?

Plague could’ve been as powerful as Huntress but that isn’t the case now. I still love Plague and think she can be powerful but she can get easily destroyed but a good survivor team. I really don’t think Plague is a bad killer, she could’ve been a lot better than she currently is though.

I don't think we will ever get balanced killers as long as SWF exists in its current state.

vs competent SWF groups killers are underpowered, and overpowered vs solo queue

With SWF you eliminate the need for so many perks/addons when they can just announce things with a bullhorn across the map thus freeing up space for so many more perks.

they should set a base stat for killers vs non SWF and give killers buffs depending on if its 2SWF/3SWF/4SWF

faster move speed, faster gen degen, 1 less hook fore death, more gens needed, longer gen times etc.. lots of options.

SWF in its current state is a pretty bad idea for a game that's balanced around being quiet/stealth

The developers have told us on livestream that they don't want to make all killers good (because we have Nurse and Hillbilly if "we wanna win") but they always strive that all killers are "fun" to play as and against.

You're seeing the result of that mindset.

Above average doesn’t mean much when only 4 of the killers are viable top tier

  • Member Posts: 94

The problem isn’t not a enough of the killers they make are good
