We can complain all we want about dbd but there are no asymmetrical horror games better than this
That doesn't mean the balance shouldn't be improved and that I am happy about battle passes and what not. But still, I love this game no matter how frustrating can it be sometimes.
At least we can always switch roles when we get fed up of one.

Agreed, there are quite a few heavily failed attempts to this genre, as it's not an easy one to produce, but dbd is the only one so far that's managed to stick the landing at all

Is monstrum 2 multiplayer? The first one was that game where you had to escape from a ship with a few monsters clomping about?

Completely agree. For some reason, Dead By daylight is the only game of this sort that has managed to be successful and despite what the nay sayers will tell you, has arguably gotten better, in some ways at least. The biggest competitor it had was F13, but the lawsuit killed that ultimately , which is pretty sad if I do say so myself . If I had to guess why DBD has been so successful and has lasted as long as it has, I would say it's mainly due to the wealth of licensed movie killers it has. It's a horror fan's dream to have a game like this where you can play as and against a number of horror icons.
Another reason I would say is because the developers are very communicative, and clearly have a passion for the game , two huge qualities any game for that matter needs to be successful . If that wasn't the case, then we wouldn't have gotten that huge 3rd anniversary stream they put a lot of effort into putting together . The developers get trash talked a lot, and it's a shame. Compare the developers of Last year to DBD. HUGE difference . The Last year devs have major attitude problems even with people asking a perfectly reasonable question , and the are not very communicative apparently. Also, unlike DBD, that game hasn't gotten an update in months, another reason why it is ultimately dead.

There's plenty of room for competition and after several other attempts have failed, I believe developers will be able to eventually make a decent competitor to dbd.

My favourites are the people who spend more time on the forums complaining about the game than playing it.
And then all they do is complain and ######### talk the Devs instead of finding something they do like to play.

Please don't call me sweetie. We all know you do so in a condescending manner and it is not intended as a term of endearment. I personally don't appreciate it especially when I didn't say anything to deserve that from you.
I didn't say anything about time wasted, just that you spend more time on the forums than the majority of people you complain about.
If anyone should stop complaining it should probably be you. Complaining about other people complaining is probably a step lower than complaining about the game.

That's why I'm occasionally so vocal and get frustrated when things for this game go drop off/come out badly. It's because I absolutely love the design and thematics of this game that Ive put a bit over a year into it...I want this game with as few faults and balance issues that cause frustration, its why I do get excited for releases and why I do support the game off & on.
Do not mistaken complaints solely as pure hate and disregard for it...that's why plenty still play and frequent the forums and reddit threads, to make art and cosplays. Its part of the balance to show the Devs we care more than they may realize. I don't think it's farfetched that many of us want this game to still succeed, to be fun AND rewarding...but as it stands there are things holding the game back a bit. It's what the forums are mostly used for...yea trolls and outlandish complaints will be around...that will never be exempt from any game & it's community

I love how every thread just ends with two people arguing about something pointless, getting triggered and others butting in occasionally. It's why I don't comment and just read nowadays.

DBD is the best asymmetrical horror game, but it's horror part just sucks, there's literally nothing scary on this game.

One of the things I don't like about other asym-horror games is that often, the Killer can be killed. I do not want that in this genre. I love it that the Killer can't really be stopped... only delayed.
People say, "yeah, but it's hard to kill the Killer". But... I just want there to be no possibility. :)

I def would not be playing this game if so....people as evident in other like games, resoet to huge amounts of bullying the Killer. We get some of that in DBD but not to the extreme I've seen in other games

The way to think about it is if you love a game enough, you'll complain about it a lot also.
You always want more in a game and we are never fully happy with a game.

It is a horror game no matter if you personally get scared or not. There are hardly any games that scare me and I played a lot of horror games since I was a little. They are still horror games.

Just because something is the best doesn't mean it shouldn't receive criticisms when it does something stupid. Being the best means it has a high standard for itself.
Also, I would argue Evolve was the best. It was just marketed towards the wrong crowd, and the devs began to cater to one side too much, and it eventually died. It's a shame, cause I really did love that game when it launched. I love DbD, but it's only a matter of time until it gets decent competition.
Calling it the best is being generous imo. I would rather call it one of the only asymmetrical games to actually SUCCEED. There's not too many, and that's because this type of genre has way too many variables.
I would also postulate that Identity V is actually more fun and balanced than DbD, and has much more creative ideas for Killers. It's just being mobile only holds it back.

I quit this game for F13 although I know a lot of peeps would disagree it was way more fun to be the killer in that game than DBD then it died smallest violin starts to play so I switched back I love this game too but I still want a competitor to this game something else to play right now DBD is one of the only assym horrors that is actually good and alive rn.

@TreemanXD True as Jason I can kill everyone so quick my record was I think killing everyone in 2minutes and 49 secs in that game and as counselor you can destroy jason if he sucks and your good. I still stick by my statement that Jason is not underpowered most peeps just don't know how to master using all his abilities but maybe I am just a "god" at Jason in that game idk lol it got boring for me to and I came back to DBD

@KillermainBTWm8 whenever I played I mained part 7 Jason, imo Jason was easier. It was very rare I didn’t kill everyone as Jason.
As survivor (I’m just gonna call them survivors) all I needed was Vanessa and a baseball bat.

@TreemanXDPart 7? your a rare breed! lol part 7 wasn't that great of a jason but I do agree that jason was easier for me as well though I have a ton that say Jason gets bullied more than the killers in DBD do. As for survivor all I needed was a bat and I mained jenny/Chad luck=best stat in game

@KillermainBTWm8 everyone said part 7 was the weakest so I started using him. Imo stamina and speed were the best. I can’t really say which side was stronger since I found both easy.

@TreemanXD I would say Jason is easier in my opinion but Survivor looks easier because they go around and packs and just beat the ######### outta Jason but if you go against a Jason that has mastered their abilities game over everytime. I find luck as the better stat because who needs stamina if hitting Jason gives you more stam and a stun and luck makes your bat last longer (me and my friends mastered hitting jason and playing mindgames to trick jason into grabbing or doing some other move where they can't hurt us to get a hit) it was fun but personally I like the new game feeling in assyms where you don't really know the maps or how to counter the killer so they feel unstoppable it's a fun feeling to me.

@KillermainBTWm8 the good thing about Vanessa is she had good luck,speed and stamina which was very needed in my strategy of running from house to house using my weapon while needed. I love games when I’m new and think “wow! This map is huge!”.
