Why do people try to quote others by alternating capital and lowercase letters instead of actually making a point? It doesn't make you look smarter. If the only thing you can bring to debate a topic and defend your position iS tO tAlK lIkE tHiS...dont bother replying.
As a killer main, I can actually sympathize here with survivors finding this as BS after all the MoM cheese Ive endured. Much of the same arguments are being made. So many survivors talked about how you should just use a killer or bring perks to 1 shot to counter MoM, much like people here are talking about spine chill of premonition (although I believe spine chill is a worthwhile perk anyway). Not sure if the grass argument is REALLY a thing or not, but that would also be very map dependent. If im working on a gen inside where theres no grass...theres nothing to look at for that warning. The argument of "gen tapping" here is about as good of an argument of just hitting a MoM user again. It just artificially extends the time to do the objective in both cases.
You'll notice that while Spirit is not the only killer that excels at doing Gen-grabs, Its specificly this addon on this killer that keeps getting ousted. Thats due to the fact that while a scratched mirror myers can conceal their TR and counter all anti-stealth perks, an observant survivor can always avoid being grabbed due to the killer having to reveal themselves while approaching the gen. This isnt the case with the spirit while using PB. This is why scratched mirror myers still feels fun for both sides while prayer beads keeps being brought up over and over on these forums.

Prayer Beads are OP for much of the same reason that’s people consider MoM OP; unless you run spine chill or premonition, it’s almost impossible to counter.

From my experience Premonition + Urban Evasion counters her pretty well.

But the perks u mentioned for killers are useful in every match. But premonition and spine chill to actually counter one single killer... NO, not a single killer, a single addon of a single killer. That's to much.

It's not OP but it makes it significantly harder to lose or juke her, and it enables things like Gen grabbing.
Now I love gen grab jump scares, they are part of the fun of being a survivor. Nothing like Myers or Rin yanking you off a generator. Some people don't know how to play around it though so they call it OP.

You're not wasting slots because you're USING them to counter loopers -- which is what everyone does.
That said, Spine Chill itself is not a waste, it's a great perk against most killers in almost all situations.
I don't get why someone is saying Spine Chill is a mediocre perk. If I had the space to run it I'd use it all the time.

@Mochan the problem is unless your using specific perks to detect her, your kinda gonna get boned by Gen grabs that cant be helped. Not every Gen is around corn or grass for you to notice movement. For instances like the game map, thats EVERY gen where you would constantly have the possibility of being yanked with no warning.

Learning how to beat Prayer Beads? The reason it is so OP is because there is no counter to it.

Plz explaing why detections perks ony help for stealth kills. As fars I no spine chill actives if the killer is looking in ur direction therefore giving a extra headstart, so why would this not be help full against a nurse or hillbilly.

Spirit does not move grass, corn, or bamboo while phase walking.
The only thing that will react to Spirit phase walk are crows. If you don't believe me try it yourself in KYF. I've tested it specifically to prove a friend wrong when he made the same claim.

People think it's OP because it turns her into the only killer that forces you to not AFK on gens. There are definitely counters to it. Pay attention to the grass/corn. Listen for her footsteps. She makes an awful racket when she walks, especially on indoor maps. Map and game sense is half the battle. Have some awareness of the perks commonly used in conjunction with Prayer Beads. If she kicks a gen, don't tap and sit on it. Tap and walk away and bait her into wasting time to come back. 99% of the time a Prayer Beads Spirit will have Surveillance. Waste her time by proc'ing Surveillance and chasing ghosts. Force her into a chase. A Spirit that relies on Prayer Beads may not be good in a chase with her power.

Also, u cant compare mom to prayer beads because the mom reward u for failure while prayers just makes it easier to sneak up on people. Mom had no perk counter and require survivors to fail in order to uses it. Also any oke can use mom right now, but a spirit still has to good in order to use the full potential of prayer beads.

Spine Chill is definitely useful against all killers. If it lights up that means the killer sees you and is coming to chase you. It can let you know when the killer has BBQ or Nurse's or some add-on that reveals your aura. It can help you to juke killers at jungle gyms or in corn. Especially useful against a Nurse or Spirit in general, since if it goes dark that means they probably aren't following you so you don't have to run anymore. It can help you to know which direction to NOT go when trying to loop some spots.
The only time Spine Chill is a waste is against SM Myers, but for that you just run because he is slow AF.

I knew there there had to be a way to spot her still because people get off the gens right before I appear quite often while using it. It usually ensures a hit but grabs are kind of hit or miss with me.

Well Prayer Bead is kind of powerful.
Spirit in my opinion if you play her correctly to her full potential is the only killer standing side by side with Nurse.
Prayer Bead completely gets rid of her phasing sound while she's invisible and add a couple of gen tracking perks like Discordance & Surveillance, she gets easy yoinks because survivors will be unaware that she's there.
So people will say the counter to this will be to Gen tap or just straight up use the perk Spine Chill (which works great) but the point of it being strong is that you don't know what killer you're going to be going against, so no one is willing to sacrifice a perk slot for a what if.
All I can say is just give it your all and do as much as you can before the trial ends.

Also, sounds are broken and we can't hear footsteps even on the Killers side. Not to mention, foot steps aren't directional.
So please, with correct and not-false info, what are the counters to a Prayer beads Spirit?

First i hate spirit to play as and against. Prayer beads is OP because he remove his only counter the sound when phasing. his phasing counter when injured is iron will the rest is detection perks such as premonition , spine chill.
Prayer beads is like omega blinks / instasaw , Tombstone myers and should be removed from the game.

Ok a good Billy may never run into somthing. But prayer bead spirit equivalent on billy would be like giving him 100% control with his chainsaw. Or like giving him an addon that removes his collision with all props(so he can just chainsaw sprint through solid walls and insta down you)

Without ruin, 3 gens pop in 1 chase.
Without SF/Enduring, you eat plenty pallets. This combo saves time!

PSA: when the Spirit is phasing you can clearly hear the directional sound of her footsteps. If you get grabbed off a gen, that's completely on you.

she can hear the sounds of somebody working on a generator. do you play this game? those sounds are audible a considerable distance away from the generator and are much louder than footsteps

that's besides the point though; she can hear someone working on a generator and that person cannot hear her, ergo she gets gen grabs for free

Use Premonition. Always helped me against the Spirit, the Pig, the Wraith, and so on.

Indeed. I'm glad you were able to learn something about Premonition today. Specifically, that it triggers off of both the husk and the actual Spirit as she's phase-walking. I also look forward to you switching out one perk that you don't need to one that you clearly do need.

PB doesn’t pop as frequent on BW and that’s JUST a purple.
everyone acting like PB is insane but won’t bat a eye over emotes preventing afk crows since launch, no one will take this thread seriously if people are going to act like PB is the most broken thing in this game just a lil tidbit.
and I’ve been destroyed by SWF with PB plenty of times, it’s not that strong and it doesn’t guarantee a kill, grow some thick skin and counterplay it better, not everything should be nerfed or handed to you
