Totem placement is a joke.
Seriously, when will you guys fix the totem placement? I just spawned RIGHT NEXT TO THE HEX TOTEM AT THE START OF THE MATCH, AND BESIDES THAT IS RIGHT NEXT TO A GENERATOR! HOW IS THIS HIDDEN?!?!?

I love the one in Crotus Penn Asylum that is right in the middle of the field. Nothing surrounding it at all.

Totems are in a tricky position because of maps. Since maps are getting smaller with every update, totems have much less area to hide in. If maps are getting bigger, killers would suffer, especially the ones who don't have a mobility power.
I'd to see the developers check what parts of each map are the least explored, then build totems around that.

That's why I don't use Ruin anymore, everytime I play as a killer my totems are close to gens. I would like to ask the devs if they really think that survivors won't check a GEN area

Hey, I have no problem pointing out dev mistakes. However, I can also point out totems have gotten tons better as far as concealment.

Interesting, it's been a while since i saw a totem placement like that on spawn.

I'm glad more people are pointing this out, they did say the line of sight check was just one step but it isn't working lol they took a step but they fell down.

I really enjoyed the totems that spawn on the inside nook of some hills, the ones that spawn inside a cluster of rocks that I keep passing by, or the couple that hide up against barrels or lockers in such a way that you can't cleanse it unless you stand in just the right spot.
They are improving, just slowly it seems.

At the very least, one should consistently spawn in the basement.

Crotus prenn out in the open totem is an improvement, azarov , macmillan and thompson maps totems being placed right next to a gen, those are not an improvement at all.

I've been getting some matches where my totem for ruin spawns almost right next to a gen. That's sum BS!

Hex totems should work on some sought of cooldown now, if a hex is pulled down (except for HG) the totem can either be rebuilt by the killer, or rebuilds automatically after a few minutes.

Get the PTB. I found some insanely well hidden totems on Badham. Even after Small Game sound, I spent about a full minute to even find it (within two concrete blocks, which we had seen before, but in this case, it was covered from the top as well).
I have high hopes for the gradual improvement of totem spots. They'll never be 100% impossible to find, you should come to terms to that. But from what I've seen in PTB, they are getting better.

THe Last map we got is one of the biggest maps in the game. Temple of Purgation is a Red Forest map. It just has a lost of stuff on it.

It should spawn in the basement with a built in Territorial imperative. Make the worst skill in the game of semi-use finally.

######### are you smoking? First of all, every single one of the latest maps has been freaking huge. Second, smaller maps far more often have better totem placement cause of the lack of various wide open fields. Ironically, smaller maps actually have much less areas to be open in.
