Why do killers need so many cheating abilities?

I've been playing from the beginning and I love this game but I can't understand why as strong and fast as the killers are, why do they need all these crazy perks. You can play with a killer for the first time while playing with the basic abilities it comes with and still manage to kill everyone. So why give the killers so many cheating abilities? Just played with a killer who was alerted when a gen was 85% done, can see injured and healing survivors, saw survivors every time someone was hooked and a perk to make it impossible to escape them. Why??? But yet the speed of the gen, healing speed and gates opening has been slowed down for the survivors. Every new killer brings a whole set of cheating perks, as the survivors get slower. Doesn't make sense, when all a survivor can do is survive. Why????

@QueenOfHearts ok, I know it's bait but I'll play along.

There are four survivors. FOUR!!!! That is four times as many as killer (there's only one killer in the game, sadly). Imagine that. Imagine how threatened we feel against four evil creatures, armed with toolboxes and firecrackers.

We need the best perks to face that horror.

You need to play more killer because you obviously don't even know the name of the killer perks to make a valid argument. Better yet, play both sides at red ranks for a month.

Spine Chill counters tinker (and most stealth for that matter). Distortion counters Nurse's, though you could just not heal near to the killer. Jumping in a locker counters BBQ (so does distortion). Otherwise, you can walk one way, then go the other. You could also stay next to strong loops. Most bring BBQ for the BP. There isn't a perk that makes it impossible to escape. Getting strong/decent perks isn't "cheating."

Perks = In game mechanics = cheating

Powers = In game mechanics = cheating

    Logic ftw

You know usually killers have to look for survivors to see the aura? It’s not something that persists the whole game, perks like Nurses still require the killer to be in range to see you so.. stay out of range?

Perks like BBQ only highlight you if you’re outside of 40m from the killer (and haven’t hidden) and if you’re 40m+ from the killer, ... you’re in no immediate danger and you’ve got time to do something before the killer comes, such as running away, or hiding.

I can think of around 9 perks that let a killer find a survivor in the game based on their aura and the aura of gens (and some of those are a push like territorial imperative). 9/60 perks.

So just be quiet with your whining.

Aura perks are only strong if you refuse to use any of the counter play options. Also you can't win a chase by simply running away, either you break Los and escape or drag out the chase until killer gives up.

Lmao this thread. I somehow doubt it that you really played from the beggining. In dbd survivors are the power role, not killers.

@whinykillers lockers are consistent. Sounds like the one whining is you.

Fun fact, though, survivor auras hide behind generator auras. Angle yourself appropriately, and they can't see you.

Part of it is it's 1v4, the killers need great perks to have a chance of winning, it's why so many people buy Hag and Bubba, not just to play them, but for the perks. Having a good set of perks vs a bad set of perks can completely ruin the killer. It can already be stressful enough 1v4 but without good perks on your side if you're not playing a strong killer or specifically a strong build don't bother playing near the red ranks.
