Your statement would be legit, when a downed Survivor can do anything. But the downed Survivor on the ground has the same effect as a hooked Survivor when it comes to Map Pressure - he cannot do Gens and at least one person needs to also not be on Gens to get him up.

No they aren't, they're a buzzkill.
Totems were specifically designed to counter powerful killer perks. They do not help survivors escape in any way.

You have to cleanse these in order to prevent this perk so if you want to prevent this perk then totems become an objective.

Those are nothing alike. Killers not picking up survivors because of DS ONLY help the killer. If DS is active that most likely means you tunneled them off the hook. FREE KILL. And waiting like 30 seconds because of DS because you tunneled somebody still only benefits the killer. The guy is on the ground so it doesn’t matter. Cleansing totems just in case a killer has NOED only hurts survivors unless the killer actually has NOED AND all totems are cleansed

Countering one perk isn't the survivor objective. Escaping the match is.

What if this perk will deny you your escape? If this is holding you back from escaping then totems (and gens) are your objective.

I would love to see a Totem counter implemented, but not as global thing, rather a buff to Small Game.

Problem is every other Hex perk tells survivors that the killers has them throughout the match (lit totems). NOED is the only one that activates at the end and requires all of the totems cleansed to be counter.
All I'm asking for is a alert when NOED is active. Not when the killer hits someone.

Not unreasonable, i've figured out the hard way that the killer has NOED plenty of times. The point still stands that people need to make totem cleansing a meta. I search while doing gens for pig, shape, ghostface & wraith i don't just assume i'll hear the heartbeat ahead of time.

That's like saying what if Nurse is denying you your escape or what if BBQ is denying your escape.
Survivors don't have to cleanse Totems to leave the match. They have to complete generators.

Not necessarily true, noed is very likely to prevent you from leaving. If BBQ is preventing you from escaping then that is on you. You can’t cleanse a nurse, you can cleanse noed.

All new players I assume. Never had a problem surviving NOED, just with how it functions.

You just can also just open the gate and leave or use Hope to help you out. Totems aren't that mandatory.

hex totems are very much objective related, which is why they give objective points. Which are now called Lightbringer.
Totems are very much part of your objective, survivors just consistently act like its not.

If you consider "cleanse all Totems" as a Counter, "avoid all Gens being completed" is the Counter to Adrenaline.

When did they change that? Dull totems didn't used to be considered as part of lightbringer.

IDK, I have always done dull totems as a survivor, if I see a dull I clense it, most just walk right past them, then run to the forums to make a noed thread.

1. That's still the point I'm making. Once it activates, all survivors are notified, and the ones who aren't close to escaping or SWF groups that wanna bully the killer will start searching for totems.
2. I don't use NOED, as it's only use is at endgame. I try to have perks that help me from the start of the game.
3. CLEANSE TOTEMS or pay the price. Quit complaining about a perk that maybe 40% actually use and trying to make the game even MORE difficult for killers that DO run it. There's plenty of counter play to NOED. You can completely disable it. Can the killer disable any of your perks by cleansing something?
4. Why is it a crutch perk? As stated, it can be disabled very easily. That's like calling adrenaline a crutch too then....

Killers can already disable DS and BT by not tunneling, Exhaustion and Aura based perks with the right add-ons and immersed Urban Evading survivors with Whispers. There's probably more stuff they can disable but theses are off the top of my head

If your not complaining, then why are you commenting on everyone's post that doesn't agree with you? Everyone has told you the same thing. Cleanse the totems! You act like your on a time limit or something and there isn't enough time to do totems. The object of the game is to EARN as many BP's as possible, not how fast you can escape. You get BP's for cleansing totems. It's also one of your objectives. It's not like there just there for decoration. Maybe go into games with the mindset of looking for totems first, instead of gens. I'm done with this guy. There's no reasoning. Someone else draw this guy a picture or something. ✌

Make it time based. Just as Hope works. There ll be no kind of situation, where perk didnt pop up, and it ll make sense, if killer will rely on NOED.

1) Make dull totems worth more - Already being done, good job!
2) Totem counter - I think it should be base, but wouldn’t really object if it was just added to small game.
3) Minimum requirement of some kind that the killer needs to get in order to get the perk to even proc if there’s a dull left. Campers being able to get NOED is stupid as the counter to camping, rushing gens, removes the counterplay to NOED. I’ve never once heard someone say “just do gens AND totems” when someone complains about camping killers.

The only thing I would change about NOED is I would add some sort of "tell" that a survivor can spot to confirm a killer has NOED. Something very minor and/or rare. I had suggested previously that something like 2% of skill checks would not have a Great Skill Check zone and that would be the tell. That should equate to something like 2 or 3 skill checks for all survivors combined for the entire game. So then 1 or 2 survivors will KNOW the killer has NOED and will be able to adjust their play accordingly. And as killer this is a benefit, because once survivors know you have it they will take extra time to cleanse all the totems which still benefits you in the long term.

Tie it to a single dull totem and give off the same notification if destroyed. No more of this "you can cleanse 4/5 totems and still get hit with it" bullshit. Tie it to a single dull totem. If that totem is cleansed, Noed is gone.

A totem conter will turn every hex perk like NOED and devour hope useless tho, soo that isn't the best suggestion

First of all stop trying to act like Samination. Nobody called them bones until he did so hopping on the bandwagon now is just pathetic.
2nd of all. If it was as simple as taking out all 5 dull totems then nobody would ruin Noed. But you know as well as I do that it's not that simple. Killers that run Noed are prepared to play around it. They'll do things like camp hooks, which removes the counterplay to Noed since your counter to camping killers is to genrush. Doing totems interferes with you countering a camping killer.
Also. If ur seriously gonna tell me that if 4/5 dull totems are cleansed but so much as one slips through the cracks that the killer deserves a speed boost and instadown for LOSING, then all I'm gonna believe is that ur profile picture is Spirit bc you wish you were good with her despite playing all the one dimensional brainless killers and running Noed when u get boot stomped so you can get kills you didn't deserve.

You don't have to tunnel to get hit with DS. I play mostly Hag, I can be on the other side of the map, teleport to a trap the survivor stepped in while hiding after an unhook and bam I get hit with it. You get punished for even playing optimal hag, its my fault I teleported too quick I shouldve let them go.

Isnt the whole point of NOED though to get survivors off gens and doing totems as well? If a counter further pushes survivors in that direction, that means all killers benefit from that extra time. I don’t really get how that’s a bad thing.

Just remove the exposed buff and add more things.. Idk no cooldown for missed attacks, or increased speed to 10%

Here is my idea, Make NOED base kit, although it may not be popular it would be a good second objective to the survivors
- Add the number of totems left to the HUD
- Add 10 seconds to the time it takes to cleanse totems
- Let killers see the aura of the totems
- Add it to the tutorial

If you do 5 totems you can't get hit with noed. If you did 5 totems and get with noed you can't count and missed a totem.
