Way too many hooks for killers
the distance between hooks is unreasonably short, i know that a while ago they’re wernt enough but many feel that you over corrected that problem. they’re are so many that saboteur has no real use because once you finally clear the section around a generator of its 10 hooks, they have already respawned. there needs to be a change in somebody mechanic resolving this problem.

And yet it feels like I really have to thread the needle when it comes to carrying survivors to hooks. If you want less hooks, burn the offerings that increase hook distance.

Wiggling off the killer's shoulder and hook sabo rescues are not supposed to be the rule. It's not a problem.

Petrified oak, breakdown, sabotage, alex toolbox, flip flop, boil over.
All of them are your friends.
And yes @se05239, at least 50% of the times I feel I'm just barely getting to hook people.
That's why Agitation is my friend on most killers, too.

Most of the time, survivors will try to block the killer and force them to go through pallets and flashlight blinds. Often enough, a survivor will wiggle free due to this interference, and often you'll only barely get to a hook. It's why I run agitation and mad grit.
I've seen four Petrified oak offerings against me every so often. So do not complain about too many.

idk man, sometimes there aren't enough hooks for killers, I've had a couple of matches today where there was just 0 hooks in the centre of the map.

They dont do much...

Must have been a swamp map, right? I've had that issue before...

It was indeed, it was grim pantry, there was one hook on the corner of the building but I used that and then no more.

Yes exactly. I just sucked it up and thought I mismanaged hook placements, though. But now I see I'm not the only one having that problem. If you sacrifice someone there, there's a pretty big area which could be deemed as a safe zone.

I mostly play solo, but one day with a friend we played together and he had the idea of using 2 offerings (oaks) to see what happens and it didnt make much of a difference to be honest.
To expect the 4 surv use the same offering is crazy, and it cant happen every game because its kinda rare.
As a surv I see hooks everywhere and very close in almost every map, except the swamp (middle section).

You are definitely right. Don’t listen to these guys

Can I complain about pallets now? I mean, the preschool has a few thousand.

Which you dont need to break. More Pallets, but most of them unsafe. Quite logical when the Loops get shorter. You are better of with 5 short Loops as Killer, which all have an unsafe Pallet than you are with a really long Loop with 1 safe Pallet.
@topic:
Hooks are USUALLY fine. You are not supposed to wiggle off the Killers shoulder, this mechanic exists so that the Killer cannot place you to a Hook he wants you to place (which would be the Basement, usually). But it should not guarantee you an Escape, this mostly only happens when the Killer messed up and used all Hooks in one area.
Sabotage is weak, dont bother sabotaging Hooks. And I feel it should not be stronger, a reliable way to remove one of the Game Mechanics (putting people on Hook) should not exist.
Nevertheless, sometimes Hooks spawn REALLY close to each other. It is not a cluster, but sometimes two Hooks are very close to each other, which makes it too easy for a Killer to patrol both Hooks or camp the one Hook, to get an easy down and hooked Survivor on the other Hook.

i misworded my post, not less hooks, but more spaced out. it would get rid of your problem of carrying someone half a map for a hook, but would also make killers think more about where they’re doing their hooking. i’m speaking more about how all four survives can all be hooked within 20 feet of each other, and not be in the basement.

Burn the offering that does exactly that.

i would agree with you, but hooks respawn quite quickly, given how much time you put into them, and how much doing that slows down the game. the event that sparked me to rant was that there were three hooks within 20 meters of each other. mixed with one stupid teammate to start it all, two other stupid teammates to rush a facecamping leatherface, and all-together three idiotic teammates on hooks (along with three messages postgame about how i’m a selfish ######### for not playing just as stupid) lead to a very quick game with only me leaving through the match. most of that situation could have been avoided by not solo playing, but if the leather face had to actually walk to hooks instead of basically shuffling a bit to his side, maybe it could have turned out better. while i know that what most was wrong with situation was having more than three brain cells, there is fault on the game side

i’m saying that shouldn’t have to be offered to help both sides of gameplay, it should be part of the game by itself

Wiggling as a mechanic is there to not let killers take you to the best hook, just a hook. You're not supposed to be able to get off the killer's shoulders all the time.
