So no summer event I guess?
I was hoping we would get something for summer, considering how many new players have came, but nope. Can we at least get the option to sell the left over offerings from events we can't use anymore for BP's? I'm tired of looking at them when their completely useless.

No summer event. They should be able to put the last summer event, but no they can't, that's too long for them. Or maybe because they don't know how to code a game without so many bugs, never see a game with so many bugs.
Perhaps a double-point event, I pray for that.
They are working on the battle pass system and addind new cosmetics that we have to paid only with our real money. Worst start for the third year.
3 cosmetics on 4 for this summer, 10$ one cosmetic, nice joke. I'm starting to be disappointed with this game...

The code infrastructure for the event: exists
Art assets: offerings, objectives, exist
Skins for the event: new Trapper and Hillbilly skin and the two survivor skins exist
The event itself: doesn't exist

They probably considered the year 3 "event" as the summer event
I would have been fine with it if it hadn't been such a disappointment

If it was announced during AMA, even without a date, just that it is upcoming, this would look not nearly as weak a move and desperate as it does now

Just give us the cool cocktail generators and bbq hooks while running double bp. This is such a nobrainer ez pz work for you guys while satisfying us. What's so difficult about that?

This AMA has been planned for quite a while and was originally scheduled for shortly after the 3rd anniversary, but had to be pushed back a couple times because some key people were out of office.
Back when we had originally announced that there would be no summer event, a lot of people had asked for a blood hunt. Like we said at the time, we would see what we could do.
Not everything has to be a conspiracy. Nobody's sitting here on a summer event twiddling their mustache while laughing menacingly.

The AMA was yesterday. Today you announce a bloodhunt. This question could have been answered with "There will be one as a replacement for the summer event but the specific date has not been decided yet." (or something along those lines): https://old.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/ckrt86/wearebhvraskus_anything/evpxofh/ The person who answered (not_queen) is, to my knowledge, the leader of the community management team so someone who is relatively important and someone who can reasonably be expected to know the plans for a summer event replacement. It seems very unlikely that this bloodhunt was only decided on in the last 21 hours (the age of the linked post at the time of writing), independently of the reception of the AMA. Therefore it seems like this event was only announced because people did not respond as positively to the AMA as expected

Correct, instead you are sitting on:
- code infrastructure for the event
- game assets for the event: hook and generator models for the event
- skins that could easily have been the event rewards, not even necessarily all of them, one for survivor, one for killer: the Jane and Claudette skins and the Hillbilly (which even has a summer bbq theme) and Trapper skins
In other words, all the components that are needed for an event
