Change the name of the Exposed status to something more beginner friendly

Especially since when newer players check out Surviviors, they look at Laurie and they see that the game describes her perks as giving her powerful survival tools at the cost of leaving her "exposed", which is referring to object of obsession, which reveals ur aura. I can't say I blame people for confusing it

I’m pleased to see that a lot of people are in agreement with this topic. I just wish we could get a statement from one of the devs!

Agree with this /\ ..... theres also a wiki, youtube, dozens of popular streamers, the forumns, reddit, Facebook communities etc...... I bet the noobies can find the information on what "exposed' means.... noobies are going to struggle for a bit... it happens in every game.

While yes, theres plenty of resources you can go out and check if you suspect your understanding of something is wrong...That requires you to know that the killer DOES NOT have an aura reading view of you to begin with. You have to know your understanding of something is infact wrong. If I was to call a status "imma instakill you" youd be abit surprised if it just shows you as a different color or something to the killer. Likewise, the status "exposed" which is defined as "not covered or hidden; visible" for some reason has NOTHING to do with being visible or not hidden. Just like you COULD take it upon yourself to look up the status "Imma instakill you" and just get use to the misleading name...you could also just call it something that makes sense.

Just because the dictionary disagrees with the DBD definition, doesn't mean you're right. Exposed is defined by the game's rules. If you understand that or not is up to the player. It's just adding to the experience. Besides, you get an Icon with a skull on it when exposed! How hard can it be to understand? XD

You also get an icon with a broken bone for mangled, but somehow that doesnt cause you to limp more or something. Saying a status can be called LITERALLY ANYTHING, while true, is dumb. If the name of the status does not tell you what the status does, it is a bad name.

Also some food for thought.
The ghostface achievement to down 50 Exposed survivors is called “totally vulnerable”
the new visual effect also creates more confusion imo, due to the pulsing effect on the screen. it might cause new survivors to believe their aura is being revealed.

Every game has their own terminology.... "exposed" has been here for years and is not hard to figure out...

Vulnerable in a game like this pretty much always means attacks.

But there is literally a guide for all the status effects in the game. Although, I think you should have some indication of the effect, like extra limping, when effected. That might be neat.

When I started playing the game, I got confused too. I thought it meant the killer could see me.

There's a guide for status effects, yes, in the middle of a short novel of walls of text. SOME new players will bother to read that rather than just play the basic tutorial, but that amount of sheer writing won't be retained. They may as well go read the whole wiki, it doesn't mean they'll be able to remember everything in a match.
There is 0 harm in changing a name to something more intuitive and less commonly misconstrued.

But it already is intuitive. They recognize it's a bad status due to the screen and noise effects. They know they have put themselves at risk, or should realize they are at greater risk.
You're making it out new people sound less able to learn, which is not true. It's insulting their intelligence.

what about critical? My childhood filled with pokemon games has properly trained me to associate the word with double dmg, lol.

Just look it up if you don't know... no that hard

Unfortunately, the English language is difficult. Exposed does mean "not hidden" or "visible" but it is also defined as "vulnerable"
I'm sure other languages are more specific... or at times more broad like it's English counterpart.
