How are Myers and Ash explained now that Stranger Things is getting in?

I’m just now watching Stranger Things because of the upcoming DLC, but so far both Michale Myers and Evil Dead (Ash) have been referenced. So that means in the Stranger Things universe they are just movie characters. So when Nancy sees them shouldn’t she recognize them as just movie characters?

    The myers we have in game (although was bought from the movie) was explained to have been real in the entity's world (as in the entity's original universe where it got all its original killers) since the entity still lacked the ability to visit other universes at the time (by the time L4D came into the fog the entity had gained the ability to visit any universe at any point in that universe's time line) so the only one of the two truly stolen from a movie universe was ash

    I mean the entity leeches off of fear and memories right? Maybe after one of the Halloween films where Michael was believed to be dead, Laurie still had nightmares of him in her sleep. when the entity took her, the entity leeched off her nightmares and fear of Michael Myers and I guess was able to recreate him? Might sound farfetched but that's my guess.
