Colour coding hex totems
Do you think it's too much advantage for killers if they can see which hex totem's functionality is by their colour?

I'd be okay with going one step further and having the perk icon hover over each totem. Maybe not to be seen at unlimited range, but when you get close enough (maybe 16 meters?), you can see which totem it is.

Personally, having a pop-up icon or tool tip would feel kind of unnatural since it would not appear as part of the HUD and more like "augmented reality" in the map world.
Perhaps a static corner of the HUD that can feed that info on totems (like other perks, buffs/debuffs) would be cleaner.

I think color coordination would be nice, however, confusing to new killers. I would prefer a perk Icon to be inserted into the skull of the middle of the totem.
One of the circles above if not all. This would only be seen by the killer unless you are running Small Game. The Icon is then displayed to the survivor running the perk. Buff to killer defense of totems and a buff to a very weak perk in the game.

Embellishing the totems with more details may look nice, but highly likely requires more modelling revision work. On the other hand, changing the flame colour by my estimate should not take too much time.
All in the interest of compromise.

I think it should be an icon like with moris.

Hex: totems are meant to be a risk, not a foolproof plan. this unnecessarily buffs Haunted Ground builds tremendously at no drawback.
Yes, i understand that totems can get broken quickly, but that is at the fault of the way they are generated on the map and are alloted crappy locations in the older maps. That does not mean that killers are warranted omniscience towards their Hex: perks, that'll lead to extremely unhealthy gameplay down the road.

I would think it should work like any other 'item', as in you have to be on top of it to see its icon, but otherwise that's my idea as well. Seems perfectly fair to me.
