Buff the Trapper
I've created this discussion to propose a buff to the OG killer of Dead by Daylight since the majority of the community say's that trapper is underwhelming. The buffs are:
- The Trapper can now carry 3 base traps instead of 1. The reason for this change is because by the time your done setting up 2-3 traps 2 gens have been completed since you have to walk across the map to collect your traps.
- Every 20 seconds a random unarmed trap on the map will disappear from its current position and will be given to the trapper. If the trapper is using iridescent stone armed traps that were NOT set by the trapper will be given to the trapper. Any traps armed by the trapper will remain in their current position. The timer will only affect traps that
- Have caught a survivor and has been disarmed (either because the trapper picked up the survivor or the survivor is freed with the help of their teammates)
- Has been disarmed by a survivor
If the trapper is carrying the maximum amount of traps the timer will be paused, Once the trapper can carry more traps the timer will resume.
This timer works similar to Freddy's except the timer is only 20 seconds long instead of 60.
Lastly darken the trappers traps, not so much that it will make logwood dye and tar bottle useless but enough so that traps don't stick out like a sore thumb.

Let's say two. Two traps as a maximum and the idea seems pretty good to reduce the setup time of trapper.

This has been said for 2 going on 3 years now...are the Devs even seeing this suggestion? It is NOWHERE game breaking OR unfair for Survivors. It is so annoying to see this simple but effective and fair change not be acknowledged but they will bring in lots of lore, new Killers and perks, new maps, and a ''not battle pass''; but Trapper's number of traps can't be tweaked to 2 or 3 but they give us an add-on instead.
The add-on is nice but there are better ways to use our 2 spots. Rusted Jaws and Setting tools, both pink add-ons, literally every good combination can be made if we didn't have those bag add-ons and not having them limits his power massively. It could be called balance but I hardly see the massive change in power if Trapper had 2-3 traps at base since it is a Common and Uncommon add-on.

Apart from increasing the amount of base traps he can carry, the only real buff that the Trapper needs is a way to reset his traps without picking them up first.
Having traps magically pop into his inventory doesn't make much sense.

I Think the time too set a trap should be faster too because, you need 2 seconds too set one trap and that is a bit too much time waste that's why i would change it in 1,6 seconds. But i like your ideas they would make trapper stronger.

trapper is fine now. he has REALLY strong add-ons and all speeds were improved already.
also trapper has a mindgame to himself where survivors always fear traps in every spot of tall grass or behind every window so they sometimes rather take a hit than vaulting a specific window

Honestly just let him carry more traps baseline and start him carrying the max amount he can hold and he's set. All that extra stuff would be nice but holy crap the one trap baseline nonsense is just silly.

I'd also like to see the RNG removed from escaping a Bear Trap. Make it more of a progression thing similar to searching a Jigsaw Box.

While it'd be a buff in some aspects, it'd be a nerf in others.
Surely you've experienced failing 20+ attempts to escape a trap when the Trapper himself used no add-ons whatsoever. You've also probably experienced a survivor escaping on the first attempt even when you used double "harder to escape" add-ons..

And those are the sort of things I'd want to see removed from escaping a Bear Trap.

Absolutley 8/10 times a survivor escapes my trap on their 3rd struggle attempt
