Give spirit a visual cue when she is using her ability.

Just as it says on tin. It seems a bit daft that she can do this without it being telegraphed.

Perhaps speed up her limb shaking idle animation by 3 or 4 to give it a more horrific juddering appearance like she's having an "out of body" experience.

So she would just mindgame herself since survivors would still be able to tell, no thanks I prefer it when my opponent actually poses a threat.

Her animation resets when she starts phasing.

That's the problem. When a killer's best mind game is to stand still, then that's when change needs to happen. It's BS that she can get free hits by doing absolutely nothing lmao, what kind of gameplay is that?

It is not like she can get free hits just doing nothing. Have you ever played as Spirit in high ranks? Experienced survivors don't fall for the act so easily. It is not like every killer has this ability o Spirit only has this ability. But she is a killer design this way and I don't think its BS. It makes her unique and skillful. The more you play against or as Spirit, the more you see the tricks she's got. So you can deal with them more easily.

Spirit would be a worse Wraith, no thanks, just learn to play against her for now.

Yes, I have. Either way you're screwed or she gets an advantage. Let's say she stands still and you walk toward her and she's not phasing. Ez free hit for her. Let's say you walk away and she's not phasing. She looks at the direction you're walking in, then starts phasing, and then bam another free hit. Now let's say she is phasing and you walk toward her, she'll bump into you and get a free hit. Let's say she doesn't bump into you, a good Spirit will phase around the spot they saw you last. She may not get a hit, but she would catch up to you with 0 cool down and still potentially get a free hit. No matter which way the spirit plays it, whether she stands still or actually phases, she's going to either get a free hit or a major advantage in the chase. This is a problem. And don't even get me started on if you're injured. There is no escaping that, you're just going down either way.

Personally I'd prefer an audio cue, like when there was that bug that played her glass sound (normally audible only by the killer during the charging) to survivors too, but only in a short range.

I love playing the Spirit and I find this stand-still-to-win "mindgame" bullshit, since it requires literally no imput from the killer. At least with an audio cue the killer would need to at least charge the phasing losing sight of the survivor for a moment... that would be a real mindgame, needing prediction and observation (grass, steps etc) to get a successful hit.

She has a tell to begin with. When she is standing still and starts to phase her hair stops animating and then resets to the beginning of its animation cycle.

If you say stand still to win, I'll assume you don't play against organised teams.

@sailormars Also I am not saying Spirit is a mid-tier killer. She is very strong in the right hands. And she should be strong, she is one of the few strong killers in the game, and that audio bug literally ruined her during that period. I don't know saying they should get rid of her mind game ability is like saying they should get rid of Nurse's blinking through objects. It is very hard to deal with a good Spirit, like many other killers, but it is one of the most skill required killer as well. So the ones play her well, deserve to get your so called "free hits".

To everyone that says standing still is a bs mindgame, let me tell you something.

As a spirit main, the mindgame of standing still doesnt work on as many people as you'd think. It rarely works at high ranks (10+). I try most of the time and you know what it does? It wastes time. You all complain about how she can see where you're running away, but really, she's just standing there wasting time.

As someone said above, the blinding thing is a big giveaway. Either they try to blind the husk and get nothing, or they blind and get away.

Spirit does not need to give off a cue of when she is phasing, as the whole point is to be unpredictable. Other killers are at least predictable. Just learn to play against her and bring Iron Will.

If something is too strong in this game and you point it out to people, you can expect they will tell you to get good. Even though presumably every time you play the game, you try to improve - and some things are just too strong and have no counter. But people are idiots, especially in this community. They wouldnt know game balance if it hit them over the head with a bonesaw.

OP, don’t write something about the Spirit, immediately a crowd of players will attack who can’t do anything with killers in their crooked hands that have a normal counter-game and they will defend their imbalanced ######### so that they can do 4K at any time, even without any labor. Yes, yes, you will see phrases like “learn to play against” and “take iron will and urban evasion” (the killer must have a counter-game without perks, by the way, and yes there are a lot of killers in the game, but I have to take two perks from four for the sake of one garbage, pfff). And they will definitely write you some “working” strategy, but I assure you, in practice, they themselves fall from the experienced Spirit in 20-30 seconds or less.

Imo any indication to the phasing, either audible or visual, would not kill her mind game potential. Nothing forces you to actually move once you start phasing; you could still stand still, you would just not be able to freely observe the survivor, making it a riskier move than before.

Then players would know wether she was using her power or not. Which is the whole point of it.

    Her at a pallet:

A-you see the signal, shes teleporting, you run/vault.

B-you clearly see shes not, and blind the piss out of her, because there's no danger in standing still if you KNOW shes not using her power.

fun fact: Standing still is the most mindgammy of mindgames you can use.

Because unlike using phase to go somewhere, standing still is ONLY useful as a mindgame. The only benefit to standing still other than making your opponent think you aren't, that means that you can't accidentally get a hit by standing still, you will only get that hit after deliberately making an attempt to get into their head and manipulate them.

Spirit isn't even the only one who can mindgame like that. Hag can do it to when a trap pops, you stand still and have them run into you if they think you will teleport.

She technically does. I think this is a bug, but the devs wont do or say anything on it. Her animations almost "reset" and certain hair cosmetics will "jump". Just go to KYF, and have your killer friend tell you when they begin the phase charging. You'll see it.
