It's not hard to pick up a FPS game..... it can be difficult for most players to pick up survivor at first.... most players that first come in to the fog dont understand what all the structures are on the map so they just die thinking "why would I want to go through that again?" Especially when theres more games like Apex and fortnut out there... same thing for killer.... most get used to feeling strong going against the noobs and then they hit a wall and go against a competent team that removes the power feeling completely away from them....
Imo the devs need to implement a better tutorial or something for the community to better help newer players be retained more..

I agree ranks 20-16 shouldn't face killer/survivors outside that range.
Exception being if they are part of a swf with members outside that rank or not enough players active in that rank.

I got a few friends who have owned the game for a while. But they do not want to play, because even though they are rank 20, they are facing killers that are clearly beyond rank 20, maybe not past 10, but have a couple hundreds of hours already.
Just played with one of them yesterday, first match was vs. a trapper that used Iridescent Stone, Bloody Coil, and an Ivory Mori to boot, and NOed if that interests you.
A rank 20 survivors, my new friend.
Me and another friend around rank 13 cause reset, and another friend around rank 15, he plays but not a whole lot.
And the killer was rank 8. Shook his head every time he downed someone, not sure why, we weren't even being toxic. Some killers.
Either way, the MM has been screwy lately, but that is still no excuse, and this has been an issue for some time as OP has stated.
Sucks that they don't want to play since 7/10 matches are like that.

Yes but this does not address my two man rank 5 swf team oftentimes queuing into a lobby with two rank 15 survivors and one rank 15 killer where all that happens is mindless camping and tunnelling while two gen jockeys maybe survive.
It just means my rank 18 friend who does not play religiously can not queue up with me unless he oftentimes wants to get stomped on by some rank 1-5 mori lullaby necklace spirit.

Totally agree. Hard to get out of it too due to potato teammates. Once you get to a certain level pipping becomes much as easier as a survivor.
