The battle pass pays for itself, literally...
Not counting all of the awesome cosmetics in it, the premium side of the rift legit gives you the auric cells to buy the next "tomb" rift that will be coming around next middle patch, after the 10$ investment you get "battle pass's" for the rest of the games life if you don't spend them. It just honestly seems like a cool idea and now we have a actual goal compared to only grinding for blood points, Anyone else think that its awesome? cause I do

Yes. Pretty good marketing honestly. We invest $10 in return for 1,000 Auric cells, cosmetics, blood points and unlimited battle passes as long as you don’t spend the auric cells. Fornite did the same thing. Keeps players occupied and coming back while they release new dlc and cosmetics outside of the rift pass that people will buy. People that wouldn’t have been there if they didn’t come back to complete the rift pass.

I'm waiting to see how that pans out. How many real hours it takes to complete. How many folks do it. I know BHVR claimed 70-80 hours to complete, but I'm positive that doesn't account for queue times and other factors.
Can it pay for itself? Absolutely. Will it for most people? I've been around enough battlepasses over the past few years to know enough to maintain a wait and see stance.

Yea its pretty cool, I've had problems lately playing lately because I've gotten about everything I wanted, but now that this has came up I can get back and actually have a goal other than farming bp to p3 a character. I'm hyped for this honestly

Like you said, all depends on how long it takes to get that money back.

That is true, Now that I have a job I can't invest so much time into the game, Hope that a few hours a day is able to get it done

@Kerbert @FishFry247 I'm also waiting to see how the Challenges play out in Live over time, especially for Solo survivors.
I was watching some streamers today on PTR and saw some things that made me step back. One streamer had a challenge for flashlight saves. I watched them stealth follow a killer until someone was downed and picked up so they could go for the save.
I watched another hide around the map waiting for fellow survivors to be hooked, so they could get some of their 5 Safe Hook Saves completed before someone else could run in for the save.
What I saw was a lot of worrying about the Challenges and less about doing Gens and playing the game normally. Especially now since, unlike the old Dailies that were just some extra BP, these Challenges are directly tied into the Archive/Rift core progression model.
I think it's going to be rough for Solo survivors, since a SWF can better layer and coordinate getting Challenges done between them. I already saw enough "farming" of one's fellow survivors today to have concern over the Solo survivor, random teammates, grinding Challenges problems.

For sure, It seems like everyone's rift web should be a little different so they don't over saturate the games with the same stuff losing the games for survivors

I barely have money and i'll be getting it.

@FishFry247 From what I saw, it is to a degree. As you progress, you choose your Challenges along a web, which kind of sets your path. So, you could have a slightly different path than your teammates to a degree.
The issue seemed to arise that the Challenges are just glorified or harder dailies. Such as get three Flashlight saves, Get 5 safe unhooks, Kill a Survivor through the Entity at End Game Collapse, Heal a Downed Survivor to Healthy X-times (that one I might be remembering slightly wrong), et cetera.
Since they are the progression model for the Archives/Rift, I already saw a lot of games focusing on Challenges, even to the point of farming their random teammates, instead of actually playing the game normally.
Hey, it might be good for Killers as Gens certainly won't be rushed. But over time, I think it is going to hurt the Solo survivor experience even more.
I also wonder what this will do to Ranks. I can see people de-pipping in matches as they worry so much about Challenges as opposed to playing a rounded game for the emblems.

@UlvenDagoth Well, I have money and I won't be. Like with any Battlepass out there on the market, I'll first see if I can play enough to progress through it far enough for free. If I do, then I'll buy it to unlock the paid rewards.
In two years of Battlepasses across most my games, that has happened exactly one time so far.

That's fair!

@UlvenDagoth Honestly, there are two reasons why I will be very unlikely to buy the Rift in the end.
1) I play Survivor with my 9-year-old in a duo SWF on the odd occasions he wants to play. That means that under the recent SWF matchmaking changes, I am unwilling to play Solo survivor and increase my rank along with it. The more I play survivor, the more inevitable that becomes. And getting good enough to hit the green, or even purple, ranks would mean playing with him is impossible. Those Killers would absolutely massacre him.
Playing with him is important to me, which is why I am usually a Killer Main. It doesn't affect us playing together as Survivors no matter how good I eventually get at Killer.
So that means that any Survivor Challenges are out the window for me doing them. And from what I saw via streams today, there are a lot of Survivor Challenges.
2) My killer queues are still averaging 10 minutes per lobby. That means less matches per hour on my already limited play time. So, that means a slow progression for any Killer related Challenges.
Which means that moving forward, there is now an entire segment of the game that my preferred play style for Survivor, and my idiotic Killer queues, are going to hinder me from experiencing. That is no fault of BHVR's mind you, and a personal choice on my part (well, in the Survivor case, not the Killer queues). I'm probably just going to move on from DbD before the mid-chapter patch. The kid and I have other games we play together, such as Paladins, and they have a new battlepass coming out within the next three weeks. Plus, I still have Overwatch and Realm Royale, too.
