DC needs to have harsher punishment

Almost every games I have lately,

there's at least one dc in it.

It became so common that it is affecting the gameplay already,

and it's certainly not fun for anyone.

I don't enjoy killing 3 people because they lost a salty teammate,

and I believe survivors don't enjoy 3vs1 either.

On top of that, BHVR punish killers for it??? (not piping),

it makes no sense at all.

This is just the way it is until the Devs (hopefully) find a way to address it.

DCs are more frequent because it's -1 pip now

The penalty for Disconnecting is harsh if you get punished for it. Problem is in order to get "caught" they have to have done it a lot. It's not an amazing system for it but it's what they have currently.

just punish those dc while on dying state/being carry and those who manually click the ESC button, already sloved 80% of the problem

Then people would switch to pulling the plug/closing the application. There is no way around a general dc punishment.

I think they should check what causes the DC, I usually do it when I play with assassins that bring slugging builds.

In fact, I usually have the same killer (Billy) with this build every 2 ~ 3 days and he already knows that I do DC if he leaves me on the floor, so he usually picks me up instantly.

Well, I see DC as "I don't have fun, bye".

Normally I do not have many DCs as killer, and if I get it at the beginning of the game, I usually disconnect ... game already advanced ?, I give more freedoms like safe rescues, not slugging or tunneling.

Yes, I think they should be penalized, but after 3 or 4, there are many good reasons to use DC from time to time.

People are always asking for punishments, why not first ascertain why people are disconnecting and resolve that. I agree there are some salty survivors and Killers likewise that disconnect for the silliest reasons but I do believe there are some legitimate disconnection reasons. Mori is a popular disconnect reason. Banning people is not very effective because people will simply make new accounts (PS4 easy to do) or just stop playing the game altogether and then the underlining reason persist.

Who cares why they dc? People will make up all sorts of weird excuses as to why the dc was justified in their eyes. Fact is, it is against the rules. In other games nobody cares why that special snowflake did ruin the game for the rest.

Put them on 2 hour cd, for the first and increase this cd with each time they do it. I don't care if it was ragequit, if mommy plugged their cable out.

I agree with you, they're really shouldn't be any distinction in terms of disconnecting because there's room for abuse. However the problem with symptomatic treatment is that it addresses the symptoms not the cause. And knowing why people disconnect is important to the games health. As a community we don't have to necessarily discuss that but you can be sure the developers will. They don't make decisions in a vacuum, and discovering what compels people to disconnect is an important part of addressing the underlying issue.

Yes but there will always be a reason as to why people ragequit. Those people exist in dota,cs, probably every online game there is. But at least there is some "punishment" for doing it, here there are no consequences.

Oh this match gonna be harder? ######### it, lets dc. Aw they killed ruin in 30sec? DC. Sorry without consequences you can dc whenever something doesn't get your approval. So yeah every dc has to be treated with cd.

If people still continue to dc even with say 1 week cd, than yeah you probably have some issue which needs investigating by the devteam.

I agree 100%, disconnecting is very bad for everyone involved. However I believe that they have been very conservative with punishment because they do realize the game has some pain points that can be addressed. I think mori is a problem that results in disconnects, and I believe the developers are going to address that offering.
