🤔 Idea for SWF/Solo balance
As a general survivor main but definitely enjoy playing killer more as lately (Freddy Main, but been showing Clown so much more love lately lol)
I always thought SWF (myself included playing with my friends), should all lose a perk slot to make up for the unlimited communication we have. All SWF whether 2, 3, or 4 will only have 3 perks going into trial. Not sure how this would work in the game code?
Solos keep all 4 perk slots.
Yes, you cannot change 3rd party apps, phone, etc. access but hey it is a start. Or make Proxy communication in game.
I cannot think of a way to counter Killer at the moment.
I think it would (or could) possibly change up the whole SWF system and how to play trial while in SWF. 🤔

There are a few options available, but BHVR has to first admit there is an underlying imbalance with SWF - which I'm not holding my breath for.
Option #1: Disincentivize SWF - There are a load of options here: limit character/perk/add-on/offering options; reduce/remove BP/shard gains; increase objective timers/requirements; reduce the map pool; remove some pallets/jungle gyms; etc. Mix and match to your heart's content.
Option #2: Incentivize Killers against SWF - It's usually not fun playing against SWF, so there are fewer options. A few I can think of: Increase BP/shard gains; Moris become baseline vs. SWF members; reduce the number of hooks needed/timer for SWF members; allow killer to select the map; empower killer (faster movement speed, improved killer power, etc.); allow additional perks/add-ons/offerings; etc.
Option #3: Incentivize Solo Queue Survivor - You can do this by implementing any combination of the above, or tweak the experience. A few options: increase BP/shard gains; D-Strike & Deliverance are baseline; increase movement/action speeds; immunity to Moris/being the obsession; etc.
Option #4: Going Nuclear - It's the least likely (and palatable) option, but it's 100% effective. BHVR just begins banning anyone using any sort of coms or 3rd party software of any type while in game. Scan randomly through the game, and if anything else is found running - you immediately disconnect, losing all items & progress.

Fair, but Devs have stated a lot of things - doesn't mean it is a perpetual statement.

First thing is would you want to be punished in a game for playing with a friend? Would you like to lose something that makes you effective because of it? The whole thing of people saying SWF is super OP is really making it seem more awful than it actually is. I don't believe you gain a ton from being SWF aside from small communication. The main thing here is if someone is good at the game whether they are SWF or not they will give you a crazy annoying looping match. You have to remember there's also those who are just playing to have a good time and mess around with their friends in game.

yeah there are also MANY swf groups, that do dumb saves etc and basicly gift you easy 4k's , or just casually play a few matches. you guys always mean with SWF those crazy good Teams which all 4 ppl are good in looping and the overall game. but thats a rare case

Seperate queue for SWF. It's all good saying players should not be punished for playing with their friends. But at the same time, killers should not be punished by having to put up with the toxic BS that comes with SWF.

Then every killer would opt out having to play against SWF. Killers queues would get longer than they already are and same with SWF queues. If I remember correctly about 50% of all survivors play with at least one friend. SWF people would either stop playing the game or start lobby dodging until they get into the same lobby. Killers would quit the game cause now they'd have to wait 20 minutes to get a game.
The thing is the devs shouldn't punish for playing with friends. I don't deny that from time to time you can meet super sweaty SWF groups, but those are rare. Must be around a week since I met one of those. Most people play with friends to have a good time and mess around. I've met groups that made stupid decisions like sandbag each other for the lols and I've messed around with my friends that ended up giving the killer free kills. When I play with friends I rarely use comms, should I be punished for playing with friends and having no comms? Sure, I go into a game with people I know is decent at the game, but we don't share information with each other.
The thing the devs should do (and have said for like a year they'd do but only slightly have done) was buff solo survivors to be around SWF level and then buff killers accordingly. Besides letting everyone see who the obsession is I can't remember the last time surv got information buff. I still think Kindred should be in basekit.

But why should we HAVE to go against SWF? I myself could live with long queue times if it means i don't have to face SWF quite literally every match. It's got to the point i can only tolerate a few games of DBD a night now because the toxicity and just unfun experience of SWF after SWF.

There should NEVER be a punishment for wanting to play with your friends.
It should, however, be an incentive for others to play against groups of friends. Like bonus post-game BP for killer and solos who play together/against SWFs.
