The sad survivor perk.

Vigil.

For whatever reason I have been thinking about it this morning. Such a sad perk in the current state "heavy sigh"...... then so far the only idea to buff it is that you recover from exhaustion while running, which was changed for a reason. Well I have a few ideas for you all this morning.

1.) Increase sprintburst MS%.... right now its 150% increase it by 5% with vigil across all tiers...this idea is more going off the exhaustion idea.

2.) Now vigil means to keep guard, watch etc..... I suggest that when someone is injured or downed and being carried you gain a certain MS%, 5% for now, this will not be a stackable bonus ( MS% wont increase with more then one person downed or Hope), the perk is inactive when the survivor(s) are hooked.

Thoughts, ideas, concerns? Let's discuss :)

If the status effects it affects actually wore off with time, Vigil wouldn't be a trash perk.

You gotta love the moron who designed this perk to reduce the duration of status effects like Mangled, etc. but almost all of the Mangle effects in the game are permanent.

If this perk allowed status effects that are normally permanent (like Sloppy Butcher) to be healed then it would actually be worth using. I don't understand why nobody recommends this.

I'd be fine with it not working on things like Seal of the Third Eye, because that's only supposed to be removed if the Totem is blown. But it definitely should affect other permanent duration effects like Sloppy Butcher.

    Movement speed percentage...

Yeah even if vigil reduced the effects of mangled and maybe even hindered it would be quite useful.

It doesn't make sense to me that Vigil affects movement speed, but since it only activates on SPrint Burst wouldn't that make it too narrow a use for the perk?

I'll have to change the wording lol... when I said "sprint burst" I didnt just mean the one particular perk, I meant it for all of the exhaustion perks... I was also thinking maybe it could increase the duration of the "sprintburst" (<---- isn't it called haste?)

For no.2 I was thinking an increase in speed when someone is injured or downed would increase the chances of getting a pallet or flashlight save...

Well it would be a nice to have on these perks, but a perk should be useful on its own without relying on another perk. Part of the reason Vigil is considered a trash tier perk is because its only real effect is to work on Exhaustion Perk cooldowns.

I prefer it add more speed burst seconds to the exhaustion perks

Just make it you recover from exhausted while running and maybe have 3 tokens and when you recover 3 times perk becomes inactive.

Recovering while running was changed for a reason.... a lot of players found that it was way too strong and extraordinarily unfun to play against... that shouldn't be brought back imo....

I would like a different approach to the perk that changes up the game.. if just a little bit.... like adding 1 or 2 seconds on too the sprintburst you get from exhaustion perks.

How about: *All* timed status effects that are negative for the survivor go down x% faster with the range.

It's a simple change, but this opens it up to some new benefits:

Madness: Recovers faster (in situations where it does recover, which I believe is just lockers)

Oblivious: Still makes you oblivious when using demogorgon portals (or in the dream world) the same, but you recover faster (from the portals, not the dream world)

Exposed: The big one. It provides protection from short duration exposed effects like MYC, Haunted Ground, Iron Maiden... but does NOT protect against NOED, Myers/Ghostface powers, because those don't manifest as a timed status effect (the timer is only on the survivor icon or killer power gauge, rather than on the status effect itself)

Undetectable: Wait, isn't that a killer status effect? Yes! But why NOT include killer status effects, if you're within range. I mean, really, this is the only killer status effect that HAS a timer that goes down, but it makes sense for Vigil to apply here. You're standing vigil, standing guard, more alert for the undetectable killers, so you have more shot to see them if their undetectability is very short term. This only, at present, applies to Demogorgon's undetectability after a portal, and maybe some add-on effects, because most of the other big undetectable effects are tied to their killer power gauge rather than being a status effect timer.

It doesn't really change exhausted, or totem based Exposed/Blindness/etc, because again, those are not on timers, but permanent until the totem is destroyed.
