How to use DS! I think a found a flaw! EXPERIMENT
EDIT: I'm moving the number every day I get to try this experiment. Last edited 15/11/2019
So, I tried this in 52 games against tunnelers and proceeded to write notes:
In 26 of them I stood still after being downed and the killer proceeded to slug me in 18/26 cause he thought I had DS. (This means I managed to use DS in only 30.76% of the games in which I did this)
In 26 other games I started crawling away as soon as I got downed and the killer only slugged me in 10/26 games I think cause as I crawled away they thought I didn't have DS. (This means I managed to use DS in 61.54% of the games in which I did this)
I know it's a small amount for an appropiate population sample, but I'll continue my experiment and let you guys know how it went.

I never use my DS intentionally. I only use it if i have to, because the killer focuses me. Or in the endgame in combination with BT of course.

Me either, but I thought this could be a cool experiment against slugging

Works if you jump into a locker aswell.
Bluffing DS is a thing.

I didn't know that, add quick and quiet and Head On and you're an anti tunneling monster, lol

I would imagine that it would play out a little differently with a larger sample size. As a killer, if I see someone sit still I know they're recovering, so I'd generally be a little more cautious if I slugged them (probably keeping an eye on them, anticipating unbreakable or a save). If someone crawls immediately, I take that as "They're not recovering, I can wander away a little without them being picked up the second I turn my back."
I'd be curious to see how it goes, though!

I will continue to do this good sir, I am not looking to do this every game, I just play normally, but when I get tunneled I'm taking out my notebook for notes

I ended up locker bluffing by accident to obtain a slug - I had nothing else nearby left to use to escape so I jumped in locker / out and got slugged :D

The thing with crawling is... killer players generally won't risk losing someone, besides. If you just lay in the floor then if the killer see a change in the HUD he will go to the last spot he saw you.

I'm not sure if crawling really tells the killer "I don't have DS". No moving means also you might be recovering. So the survivor might be tappable if you don't "camp" him or might run Unbreakable. Also sometimes good killers are happy to waste survivors' DS if they have momentum. So I think it is not controlable for survivors if you get picked up or not.
But keep on noting until you have at least 1000 games to have a statistically relevant result :P

I play both sides and I don't run DS because killers find it annoying and I want them to have a good experience. I figure since I play by "survivor rules" as killer it's only fair to be nice to the other side too. I'm assuming I'm in an incredibly small minority here. :)

When I'm "giving a survivor my undivided love", if they really try hard to loop and juke me I take that as a signal that they do not have DS.
And then they do. Survivors smart.

Smart killers will just eat the DS from the locker.
If you think about it, it would be stupid to let that survivor get away just because you can't slug them. If you leave them alove, they will jump out again and heal, or if they are ballsy, instantly hop on a generator again. If you just open the locker, you have a chance they are bluffing or they miss the skillcheck. Meaning a free hook. In every other case, you just loose 7-ish seconds (locker grab + stun), and now have a survivor with no DS left.

That's the thing about bluffs.
If someone calls it... you're screwed

Its not really a bluff, since the killer has one optimal way, which is eating the DS. Basically you are gambling that the killer you are versing is inexperienced. That is not the same as a bluff in, say, poker.

It is a bluff.
You are saying "eat my ds or leave. You wont slug me"
And if there's someone else around, the killer might go for them instead.
0 -
Its not a bluff, because the killer loses nothing from opening the locker.

If there's someone else around and you have ds, he loses pressure.
Between chasing the unhooker and maybe taking a ds and losing both... I think there's a clear better option there.
And the other side losing something is not a requirement for something to be a bluff.

I think you should also take into account that being revealed as the obsession at the start of the match is a dead giveaway of having DS...

DS does not guarantee that the person who is the obsession has DS. It picks a random survivor unless someone is using another obsession perk on top of that. It also doesn't necessarily mean that DS is in play, it could also be Object of Obsession or a key with a Wedding Ring.

So if you want to fake having DS stay still. If you want to fake NOT having DS, start crawling right away.

Yep, that's what I'm trying to know
