Another balance post
I seriously think the devs have done a great job and this game as come a long way.
They get way to much hate, if you haven't played this game from day 1 you have no idea the mess this game started in.
You think the game is survivor sided now? You should of seen it back then, People seriously need to stop blaming swf for being too op and look at there own gameplay, record back and analize it see your mistakes and work on them, because trust me you are making a lot of mistakes if you are losing games consistently.
I play EU at rank 1 mainly spirit or billy against all kinds of teams and ye sometimes you feel like you have no chance cos the gens start flying but there is always counters to this playstyle, You just have to play a scummy playstyle which i understand is not what everyone wants to do,
But one thing i can agree on is that playing scummy playstyle is the only way to win all games. Not saying you have to play like this to win every game, But some games are un winnable if you don't play scummy playstyle, for example slugging/tunneling. proxy camping.
Not trying to be too big headed but i seriously 4k 90 percent of my games with average add ons and i don't see a huge problem in balance. The only thing i have noticed that is sometimes unbalanced for sure is the map rng that you can get against you. especially playing someone like Billy,
If the map rng is against you with insane tiles all mixed together and high tier survivors know how to run them properly. You're are defeintly gonna have a rough time, But even then these games are still winnable from my experience, You just have to counter them with pressure and don't make bad plays.
I know a lot of people are not gonna agree with this but trust me a lot of the time why you are losing these games are your own bad plays. Because even a slight missplay in this game can cause you to lose the game, I suggest to record your gameplay and when you get one of these games you feel was un winnable watch it back and work on your mistakes.
And one more thing never expect to win every game against every team even if you think you are the best player in the world, without having a scummy playstyle. You cannot do this if you play too survivors emotions and play with a "FAIR" playstyle. Also you are never gonna win every game no matter what anyway. I still never understood why people cant understand that, Since when has anyone in a game never lost ever. Cos people seem to think on dbd if you lose it's just cos the game is unbalanced when in reality we are humans and can't win everything, no matter how good you are.

people always blame losses on something in this game

This part of your post speaks little about balance - 4k's should actually be rare, not the norm. This is possibly why people think the balance of the game is off right now 🤔

Glad to see that a loss even by your own systems standards is supposed to be the norm

A loss for a killer in DBD has always been considered by the developers, and therefore the game, as 0-1 kills. A 2k should be the norm, which I believe is what Mandy was saying.

No what i am trying to say is that everyone always says the game is heavily survivor sided but i win 90 percent of games against survivors so how can that be true, i think people just need to get better at killer and change up there playstyle maybe they are been too nice and just hooking over and over because constantly hooking is 1 big way too lose a game with how fast gens go

The reason why 4k's aren't rare is because of the rampant dc epidemic and survivors memeing around doing archive challenges and giving up the minute it becomes to difficult. And or its a killer/map addons they dont like.
Actual survivors that TRY to win have no problem 90% of the time to achive their goal.

4ks are supposed to be rare, yet they are basically an requirement if you wish to pip as killer.
so if 4ks are actually supposed to be such a rare sight, maybe the emblem system should be looked at then. i do not see how it is justified for me as a killer to depip with a 3k, yet thats definitely the case.
i just recently had a match where 2 would ragequit uppon being downed and the hatch spawned literally right next to the last guy alive (mid chase -.-), so i depiped with a 3k - i was not even close to safetypipping btw.
so even if the devs understanding of balance is "2 deaths 2 escapes", the games understanding of balance seems to be "4k or lose", which is why it doesnt really feel like a succesfull game if you "only" killed 3. heck, it feels like a huge loss if you only kill 2, since the first thing you are going to read uppon entering the trial result screen is "Entity Displeased".

@Mister_xD I understand what you're saying and I agree with you, the whole Entity Displeased thing is very misleading, as well as the current pip system in regards to that. And yeah depipping when there's a few DC's is annoying and shouldn't happen - no argument from me with that.
@Fibijean yes that's exactly what I was meaning <3

Soo the game is now killer favored? ?
0 -
That's not what I said @Ihatelife - I brought up that regular 4k's are not balanced, because 4k's are supposed to be rare. The game has always been considered to be balanced at 2 escapes and 2 deaths (at least by the developers, not necessarily the whole "entity displeased" thing at the end game, which I never read in my matches anyway). So to have 4 kills or 4 escapes in a match should be the rarest thing.
I'd love to be able to see all the statistics of matches (I can only really go by my own), before I say something is either survivor or killer favoured. My gut instinct is that the game is probably as balanced now as it could ever get - it will probably never be totally balanced, because that's next to impossible to achieve in this type of game.
Maps are my biggest issue tbh, some maps can change the game totally - I know how I feel as a killer when I load into a the game and it's Haddonfield for example.

That has less to do with balance and more to do with problems in the ranking system. It's way too easy to rank up as survivor currently. IE many of the red rank survivors really shouldn't be in red ranks.

Yeah, I agree maps are the biggest issue. Sometimes you get the map that will completely favors the one side, while you can also get a map that favor the other side too. Like Hawkins for the Killers and Haddonfield for survivors.
1 -
I find the same for both sides...ranking seems to be purely about hours played right now on both sides. I rank up so fast as both killer and survivor and I am far from being a goddess at the game.
0 -
Hours has a lot to do with it but I wouldn't say purely. While the ranking system is quite flawed there is definitely a difference in skill between someone at rank 1 and rank 10 for example. Killer is too easy to rank up as well but it feels much more pronounced on survivor currently.
0 -
Yet getting a 2k usually drops you in higher ranks lol
0 -
Yes. Partly because the system is flawed, and partly because high ranks are deliberately designed to be difficult to get to and even harder to stay at. Theoretically, you have to be exceptionally good at the game to get to top ranks. And if you're exceptionally good at the game, you will consistently 4k even at red ranks. That doesn't mean anything less than a 4k should be considered a loss, because depipping is not the same thing as losing, despite how many people equate the two.

But the balance of the game has 0 to fo with emblems
0 -
No, but ranks have everything to do with emblems, and you were the one that brought that up. You're right though, this is getting very off topic from the OP, so I will digress.
