The Emblem System
Look I know for a fact that I am not the only one who is enraged by campers and tunnelers just trying to rank up or complete some adept challenge. I doubt there are any changes coming to the emblem system anytime soon but I for one believe that there needs to be some tweaking. I shouldn't be penalized for someone face camping me when I'm on the hook. I shouldn't lose rank progression for that for a couple reasons. Reason one being that I wouldn't get the chance to play the objective or be altruistic because the killer happened to find me first and doesn't let the other players save me, so OBVIOUSLY I wouldn't get enough points. Reason two being that videogames are about fun and lets be honest here, those kinds of killers hex ruin all the fun. Sorry I had too.(wouldn't be surprised if someone disagrees with me because I made that joke). And reason 3...Killers shouldn't be awarded for unskillful plays. Face camping is not skillful and I really don't think that someone should rank up because they sat at a hook for 3 minutes. I understand that there are perks that help such as deliverance but a player has to spend auric cells, buy the dlc, or wait who knows how long for the shrine of secrets to have deliverance in it. There has to be a way for all survivors to avoid ranking down when faced with a killer. Here are a couple solutions I have come up with.
- Set up a point deduction system - So this would work to stop the killer from camping. Have a set amount of time that a killer stays in the hook zone and if they pass it they lose points. There can also be one for tunneling. For example if a killer chases a survivor for a certain amount of time once they've been hooked, within a certain amount of time they would lose points.
- Get rid of the emblem system - I already am not a huge fan of this system, I think there are many reasons a killer or survivor might lose points for stupid reasons. What they would do instead, I'm not sure but feel free to leave comments about possible solutions. Perhaps something to do with effort given, therefore if you don't have the chance to then you wouldn't rank down.
- Change the offerings - Add an offering that works similar to deliverance so that survivors can really get away from the camping
- Put Deliverance in the shrine of secrets a decent amount of time - self explanatory here
Please comment the number of the solution you see as the best one. Ex. 1,2,3,4 or add a new new number ex. 5 and I think devs should do... or change...
If I'm wrong and people disagree then I will accept that but I'm willing to bed I'm not.

The killer already is punished for camping: They lose points for emblems and allow gens to get done. I don't think that will discourage camping in the long run though, since some people don't care about rank... or points.
The emblem system for killer and survivor is messed up. It's hard to get both to work unless you play in one very specific way, and even then there's no reason to get up to red ranks.
I think there should either be an entire overhaul of the system for both sides, or scrap it. For killers, most emblems are based off of survivor actions/mistakes, and for survivor they are competing for each emblem... which isn't how their game really works at this moment...

They should focus on incentives for people to stay in red ranks and THEN you start fixing your emblem system.

Yes I agree with an overhaul or scrap but there are some people who do like to rank up.

If the incentive is for an imaginary bragging rights that comes up with Sweaty games that with an abundance of the same killer and long queues then yeah sure go for it.

Wouldnt change anything if they punished a killer for face camping or tunneling. Most people have recognized that the ranking system is flawed and dont really care what they are ranked at.
Some specifically refuse to rank past a certain rank and will religiously de-pip on purpose.
Theres also casuals who if they had the option would play a non ranked que.
Plus even if they did add anything. Peoples in-game behavior would only change if they actually cared about ranks. So a good number of people would Still face camp/tunnel. And by punishing killers more than they punish themselves in those scenarios anything point related then the people who derank to bully lower ranks and have easy games.

If you didn't just blame killers and also said survivors can cause camping i might off took your post half serious if you don't want killers to camp or tunnel as much they need to fix how killers pip i.e 2 kills + points safety pip, 3 kills + points 1 pip and 4k + points 2 pips. I don't face camp unless it's for a few reasons but the pip system for killers is bad and needs to change before they even look at punishing killers.
Also you have to remember not always but sometimes survivors are going in for a save right away or hanging around trying to do it, show me in the ToS that says a killer can't camp or tunnel is it the right thing to do that's personal choice i don't like to do it. You say video games is about fun that works for both sides not just 1 killers might not think pallets are fun using your idea of fun they need to be taken out or fixed to make the game fun for killers.
Fix the pip system for killers and you will find less campers as they know if they get 3 kills plus a set amount off points they will get a pip and not risk just getting a safety pip.

But the pallets are balanced, but camping isn't. Yea fix the pip ok just stop the caming.
