Instead of giving everyone in the game the ultra-rare exclusives - couldn't you just add them as high tier rewards to the Rift pass? Then these cosmetics would still be free to obtain but you'd have to earn them through play. It confuses me that they didn't do this in the first place - this would mean that console players could also obtain them and scammers wouldn't be able to sell codes, but it'd be a bit easier to take for people who have spent £££ on exclusives.

    That'd be cool, but it was clearly ENOUGH of a problem to act on it AND giving it to everyone for free

    I think the way they handled it is perfectly fine. They also already said they are doing it; the backlash they would get for doubling back on that now, would be far worse than what they might get from some disgruntled people who wasted money on those codes.

    So it will likely proceed as planned.

    I don't think there would be backlash considering it'd still be free. If you want these exclusive items you should have to work for them. I would have been much happier to play the game to get them instead of paying.

    I'm fine with the code ones being given for free. I dislike "code" cosmetics as usually obtaining these codes is something obscure or purely luck based etc. And as they said, people abuse the hell out of that by selling those codes for ridiculous prices.

    I don't like the event cosmetics being given away though. The event cosmetics were earnable by playing, we were there to play and obtain them. It's similar to how Legacy is only for those who were there to play for them when they were available. Sure, Legacy took more time to obtain but the idea is still the same.

    Please do this instead. Like a final tier reward. I don't want the cosmetics to become worthless
